I guess I'm in the minority on this one but I'm just not impressed with this lipstick. I tried it on in the store and (I think because it was the end of a long day) I thought it was pretty, but after actually purchasing it, I'm just kind of bored. I have pale, yellow-toned skin and pretty colorless lips. I thought this would be a MLBB but it doesn't even do that. It is just a bit too peach toned to make my lips stand out--it kind of blends in. As some other reviewers noted, it doesn't "brighten" my face. Maybe because my lips are not pigmented, or maybe because I'm older and I need brighter lipstick colors now. Also, the texture is dryer than I thought and it kind of gets that "gritty" feel on your lips as it wears off---ugh. The package is pretty, but for $26 I expect more--or at least to feel some excitement about wearing it. However, after reading that some others say this looks best with a tan, I'll give it a second chance when I've got some color this summer.

For so long time I have been searching for everyday lipstick (not gloss) for my NC15 skin and blue eyes. Most roses are too cool for me, bronzes do not match to my favourite overall pastel outfit. Yesterday at local Sephora I met genial NARS makeup artist who carefully listened to my concenrs and than picked this one. Perfect for me. Tender, no cool rose, yet compatible with more muted/soft makeup with rose tones. On my strongly pigmented lips more towards red. Certainly five lippies.

Nars Dolce Vita gets all the love, but in my book Falbala deserves it! It's a gorgeous bronzed rose shade. It's a sheer lipstick but can be built up to medium opacity. Texture is light and slightly dewy. It's sophisticated and versatile. One of my favorite lipsticks and probably the one I wear most often.

Oh God, this is pretty much MLBB PERFECTION.
It's a discreet but interesting, slightly sheer rose gold shimmered lipstick with a satiny finish. It's MLBB, wear anywhere, go with everything but it's not boring!
It's actually a very complex shade - neutral pink, rose, gold and bronze all amalgamated into a 3.4g (average size for a lippie?) stick of utter loveliness. This should work for a wide range of skin tones and shades as it has enough depth and nuance to enhance both warm and cool tones as well as working with your natural lip colour (always flattering!) so I hope this gets a lot of love because it is certainly well deserved.
Gorgeous.

This is a very pretty pinky bronze color and works wells with either dark or light skin tones. It looked great on both of my older sisters and myself. I bought this from one of those discounted cosmetic sites for $8 and it is a real NARS product and not a fake, thank goodness. I would buy again.

Falbala seems to look great on both darker and paler skins. I'm nc25 and I think one reviewer has nc42 :)
It's just lovely. Falbala is a perfect mix between bronze and pink and doesn't leave your lips looking ''muddy'' because of it's subtle shine. The colour is buildable so it can be worn during the day as well as during an evening out. This is my everyday lipstick and I like it with my MAC lip pencil in 'morning coffee' (I think it's pro longwear). Morning coffee is similar to Falbala, but a touch more brown which gives my lips definition without looking like Pamela Anderson during the 90's.
The reason I give this lippstick only 4 is beacuse of the lasting power. It only lasts for 2 hours and definietly won't survive a meal. Otherwis it's great and it keeps my lips moisturized and looking great in a natural way.

My first review here. I just got Falbala on eBay for $12.00. Money well spent. I have a lot of pink pigment in my lips (I am a very pale, blue-eyed blond--NW20) and this shimmers like a gloss on me--defintely YLBB--and adds just a touch of rosey-gold color. Very nice no-lipstick lipstick. My husband-not a lipstick lover-- liked this on me. Great for work and everyday wear. Not drying for me, but I do put it over or under lip balm.

This is a pretty, shimmery, rose bronze. It's closeish to my natural lip colour but a tad too brown for me. Doesn't brighten my face but I can see it as a lovely summer shade, especially if you have the sun-kissed look going.

This is one beautiful lipstick. It's a sheer but complicated in that it has a bit of bronze, rose and just a touch of plum. Because of these 3 it can be worn for warm or cool complexions. It is sheer, so if applying l/s alot bothers you skip it, if not the pay off and the beauty of it are beyond worth it. For the same consistency but a tad more plum Mac's Sophisto is a keeper too, both are HG's for me right now!

So far, this is my most used Nars lipstick. I wear this almost every day. As the other reviewers have described it, this is a fabulous bronze rose MLBB. In MAC world I am C7, so I agree this works for most skin tones. I will probably run out because I use this lippie so often, and will definitely repurchase again and again.

Hate to bring down the ratings. The texture/moisture was great, but I did not see any rose-bronze tones on my pigmented, mauve-rose brown lips. All I got was a wash of orange-brown color on my lips. Not unflattering, but my natural lip color lights up my face a lot more.

Nars quality really shines in this proudct. It is from the Spring collection and loved all summer long. The color itself is smooth, not dry, a mix of golden/bronze/corals which will probably look great on any complexion.
I wore this, my daughter wore this and my sister wore this -- and each one of is a different skin tone and eyes.. so I do think this is a very flexible color. I have also gotten different tones to this color by using different liners underneath.. a nude, a light beigey brown and a brighter coral all changed the color and made it into a different shade.
Today I tried it on a client for her upcoming Spring wedding -- she is having the dress made in a very golden/ivory white and has NC20 skintone, blonde/red hair and green eyes.. it looked fabulous.
I just wanted to share.

Falbala is exactly as everyone else has described- a sheer, very natural MLBB bronzed rose. If you apply a few layers, it looks like a soft rosy plum with bronze shimmer. Totally gorgeous.

Gorgeous color - bronzy pinky natural on me, with a hint of plum - it's pure YLBB! Not overly "made up" looking. Perfect day color for me!

NARS Falbala
-sold at Sephora, narscosmetics.com, and anywhere where NARS is sold
-retails at 24$ and weighs in at .12 ounces or 3.5 g
-the height of the actual lipstick (minus the packaging) is about an inch to 1 1/4 inch.
-
Falbala is a bronzey rose. In the tube, it looks dark and deep but like most lipsticks of sheer formulation, it applies almost invisible with the first swatch. It can be built from a light bronze rose to a deep rose bronze. 8-10 quick swipes will get me close to the color in the tube.
-
The lipstick applies moistly but with resistance and like most lipsticks geared for shine and moisture, Falbala doesn't last long. It fades within the next two hours leaving me that first shade that I was talking about in the previous paragraph - a light rose bronze. This is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the lasting power, or lack thereof. Don't worry too much about the shine, though...it isn't over the top at all
-
In all, this is my HG everyday YLBBAS (your lips but better and sexier..I made that up ^_^ I know Im a dork) lipstick. I use it as both a blush and a lipstick. It gives me that glistening look that evokes combo of youth and maturity. Looks great with a tan or all year long. It also smells good..like Trix cereal XD
~hugs Falbala~

I agree with everything the previous reviewers have said. Totally MLBB/YLBB and brightens my entire face without being like "hey! I am wearing lipstick!!" but has a little more class and maturity than a lipgloss. depending on the cheek color I am wearing, this lipstick can range from looking almost red to neutral brown. its a chameleon! in a good way! very versatile and easy to wear. Love it!

Just have to add my raves for this great lippie! I'm no good at describing colors but this is the first lipstick I've found in ages which isn't too...pink or too brown...or too matte or too shiny...or too anything! I am so picky about lippies but I love them and can't resist trying new ones, always to my disappointment it seems. This one is truly a perfect mlbb (but not nude at all, I have pigmented lips and this just accentuates my natural lip color so well. A perfect color for summer, I think, but I also think it will work well in the fall and winter. For reference, I have very dark eyes, dark brown hair, naturally pale cool toned skin, which is currently somewhat tanned. Will definitely try to buy a back up, despite the high cost.

In rating Falbala, a YLBB lipstick, I have had to contain my urge to lower a score due to lack of presence and instead rate Falbala within the YLBB spectrum. I am not someone who wears YLBB lipsticks; I prefer a greater depth of color and some visibility. Yet, I have tried a number of YLBB shades and they have failed me badly for reasons of tone or texture. I have a collection of these failures, many with beige/orange tones (Poppy King, YSL), none of which I select with enjoyment or ease.
In the tube, Falbala is a medium rose with a very slight undertone of frosty silver and a lightly slick appearance. On, it goes straight to YLBB territory and is saved from being invisible by the small amount of sheen it possesses. It is barely deeper than my natural lip color and is lighter than it appears in the tube. As is the case with Nars lipsticks, the formula quickly dries and adheres and tends towards a matteness (in this regard it is similar to Shu Uemura Petal Pink Beige, which was a loser for me). It looks better with a tan than without one; the tan makes Falbala look brighter and pinker.
I have given Falbala a five as a YLBB, but I find that it doesn't enliven my face the way my favorite lipsticks do. It doesn't detract from it, but it doesn't brighten it either. It's the kind of thing that probably looks best without a fully made-up face; it is likely best worn with a tan and little in the way of other makeup. Worn with a full complement of face makeup, Falbala seems faded.
