I was pretty sure that this was gonna be my favorite lush perfume since I really love sweet scents but this was just.....ok. Definatly not a generic vanilla scent...actually kinda strange. It does smell like vanilla but more interesting and deep. I really like it within the first 20minutes or so but, the dry down is kinda meeeh. It starts to smell like old school hair grease....African Pride to be exact. I will use up my bottle but I doubt I would repurchase.....just hate that my sense of smell converts this to hair grease lol.

I had a few bucks to blow and we were strolling along at the mall so I decided to go into Lush, which I only do about 2x per year as I'm not really in love with most of their products. I was looking for a replacement on my now totally used up New solid shampoo (I Do LOVE that stuff!!) when I came upon a selection of their solid perfumes. I am a perfume JUNKY so I had to sniff them all, and though some of them were awful a few were pretty darn good. Vanillary stuck out from the whole group, it smelled awesome! I eagerly laid out my money for my purchases and went to find the kids and husband. i took the perfume out of my bag and shoved it under my son's nose (18 years old and used to mom doing that), his face squinched up and he made a negative comment to the term of "ugh!". Same thing with my 11 year old son. Th ehusband wasn't quite as bad (I had put some on my arm in the mean time), his comment was "well, it's not totally horrible"....UGH!!!! every time I adore a perfume it seems the men/boys in my life hate it (except for Pink Sugar...we all love that!). I asked what was so horrible about it and my eldest said it smelled like a new age store (yeah, I can see that) my husband also agreed and added that it smells nothing like vanilla. Yes, it does smell like an old new age store that I used to frequent as a teen, maybe that is why I like it, I used to spend hours in that store enthralled by all the cool books and trinkets. I'm not big into new age anymore but will hang onto Vanillary for when I want a stroll down memory lane (and will most likely wear it just for me when the hisband is at work). A couple other downsides (besides the guys not liking it) is it only lasts about 2 hours then needs reapplying and the container it's in, it's a push up, a twist up would have been much better but I understand why Lush went with the package they did.
All in all I LOVE this stuff!!! (regardless of what the guys say). ;0)

I absolutely love this scent. I have in the solid perfume stick and I don't think I would buy the spray. I am a very warm person and I always radiate heat and I feel like when I put this on I'm radiating a little circle of warm vanilla scent. I love the portable stick packaging and it's inexpensive. It's delicious, I've already bought it twice and will buy it again.

very strong potent stuff. Like many people said, this is not the fluffy soft vanilla. If you love stuff that spreads 6 feet far and wide, you just hit the jack pot. Strong enough for odor cover up on days when your personal hygiene hasn't been kept up. A geriatric woman I cared for used this scent to counter act adult diaper smell and it works wonder!

Vanillary is like no other Vanilla scent I have ever tried. I bought this in the tin a few years ago, and I only used it a few times. I think because this is so different than vanilla products, it throws vanilla fans off. This is blended with Jasmine and the Jasmine is quite prominent when you first spray it. I have a love/hate relationship with Jasmine, a lot of the time it can go uriney on me. Lush's Jasmine oil seems to work, I THINK. When I first got this, I spritzed it on in the bedroom and my husband said, "Did the cat pee in here?' I think this is kind of like their perfume Lust, in that you need to put it on before you go out, like when you are getting ready. It settles down to a nice, smoky vanilla. It almost smells like French Toast on me I think. I have discovered this with all of their scents...when you first put them on, the top notes are all, "HEEEY GIRL!". Then they settle down and are quiet. In conclusion, I really like Vanillary, and hope I don't smell like a tom cat sprayed me. I have gotten a few compliments, so unless those girls were in heat, I must be good.

I have the solid perfume, and I like it, but I'm not crazy about it. Initially it smells good.. like vanilla with a strong jasmine edge.. but after a while it turns a bit sour, sharp and dare I say, unpleasant. Also I think the packaging looks nice but practically I do not like it.. You have to be really careful while using it or else you'll end up making a mess. I think a tin would have been better instead of the stick packaging. So there, for the initial notes and the fact that I like anything vanilla, I'll use this up and won't repurchase.

I have the solid perfume stick of this and I love it!! I use it all the time and pop it in my bag.. I love love love the smell.. it actually smells of real vanilla, not the fake sweet smell of it.. I can smell the sweet bitter smell real vanillla pods smell of and it smells so lovely on my skin.. the scent lingers and when i walk past people they notice it which is really important to me,, and the little tube lasts too!! I will buy again. x

I'm surprised that I love this scent, because I usually go for really sweet sugary scents but it's not the vanilla you are expecting. I was expecting SUPER SWEET, but instead it was like a grown up version of vanilla, you know like it's really cool aunt that used to be wild and crazy but grew up and is still fun but slightly more mature. So, even though it was unexpected i really really like this. Theres even a bit of jasmine thrown into the mix as well and makes it interesting, slightly woodsy. What I've been doing since i bought it I first use Lush's Vanilla powder, and then I spritz with the perfume, but because I'm hooked I think I might go even further and start using the solid Vanillary too. Yep, that should make it last all day lol :P

This isn't a sickeningly sweet/foodie vanilla scent, but more of a natural vanilla scent. It's hard to describe. It has the same scent as lush's vanilla deelite lotion and vanilla puff powder, but the perfume scent is more 'smokey' and heavy. Has good lasting power, you only need 1 or (max) 2 spritzes.

This was kind of an impulse buy for me - I wanted a new fragrance and happened to be in Lush for other products, so I decided to pick up this solid perfume and give it a whirl.
After wearing Vanillary for a few days, I've noticed that the smell is best when I've been wearing it for a few hours, almost after it's all gone. That's when it smells "warmest" and less intense.
For me, the smell of jasmine is overpowering and makes it smell almost medicinal. I also get faint traces of the smell of beer, but that may just be me.
While I don't enjoy this perfume that much, it's not so bad that I'm going to throw it out. However, I definitely wouldn't buy it again. If you're interested in it, I'd go to Lush and try it on before buying just to see how it reacts with your skin.
The only thing I really liked about it was the packaging - I love the unique way Lush wraps their stuff. What's inconvenient about the solid perfume is that if you push it up too much, you have to be gentle when you push it back down, or else it may squish all over the place.

This is for LUSH Solid Perfume.
I bought it because I enjoy the scent, vanilla without being super sweet, "Bath-and-Body-Works" style sugary vanilla. I guess it's mixed with jasmine, which to me isn't as terrible as others have written. But I gave it 3 lipsticks because it seems like the scent doesn't stay for very long. I can smell it when I put it on, in the morning, but it seems like after just one hour the scent wears off and I can't smell it on my wrists anymore. Perhaps this is good so I'm not overpowered by scent, but I like it to linger at least for a little while so people can smell it as they pass by but not get overwhelmed by scent. I'll have to do a smell test with someone else to find out just how long this perfume lasts.
I enjoy the packaging (the push-up tube) because it's easy to store and easy to use, as long as you push it back down before closing the cap. Even though I said I would not buy this product again, it's really more of a maybe. I like the scent and the packaging, just not sure about the longevity of the scent.

(solid perfume) Vanillary smells exactly what you'd expect by the name - vanilla. Initially, the scent is like vanilla yogurt or some dessert but turns a little more powdery as it wears on. I can see a lot of people loving this perfume but the end notes make it a little bit too heavy and sweet. I'd recommend this for layering with other scents but by its own it's not fresh and interesting enough for me.

I usually enjoy any scents that are food-based. Vanilla especially. This one is a weird one though, it isn't your typical warm and cuddly vanilla. It's sharp and sour-ish. The opening is bearable but the ending smells like pickles on me. Tried it both as a solid perfume and in the body powder form, same pickles...

I used to be obsessed with this scent, mainly because I had the lotion and I thought it smelled amazing. What's the opposite of when something grows on you? Well, that's how I feel about this. It has slowly "un-grown" on me and now it's just okay. I think the reason is the smell, although vanilla-y, can get very powdery. Also, note that Lush's perfumes are expensive because they are very strong, so a little goes a looooong way. I almost get a headache thinking about it. I think I scarred myself forever when I overdosed on it and got the worst headache ever. Maybe I can come back to it in small doses in the future, but I gotta ease up on it!

Vanillary EDP costs £25.00 for a 27g bottle. It also comes in lower concentrations, and as a solid perfume.
In the bottle, the fragrance is very spicy and woody; applied to the skin, it is immediately a more musky fragrance, with definite notes of caramel. It drys to a very sweet, gourmand vanilla. Smells like a slightly more spicy, sophisticated twist on vanilla ice cream or chocolate chip cookies :) Layers well with the lotion and dusting powder of the same fragrance. I was disappointed when Lush discontinued the massage bar.
The smell is very potent, and gets a lot of compliments and questions. However, it may not work so well for everyone - my friend liked the scent on me so much she went out and got the whole Vanillary range, but later was convinced that she got an off batch - it smelled unpleasant by the end of the day. Body chemistry, I guess? Definitely try before you buy, preferably for a whole day's wear.

I have the solid perfume. I think this vanilla gourmand is my favorite new perfume! A very delicious, warm vanilla scent and the most true to real vanilla smell I've ever smelled.
I love to use this together with the vanilla puff powder, a little goes a long way! I use this before bed too, the scent is comforting to me.

I have the SOLID VANILLARY PERFUME.
I love the smell of it! It is very sweet, very warm and kind of reminds me of a bakery. A little goes a long way and the smell lasts for hours with only a little bit of product used. The solid perfume container works well, but you have to make sure that the lid is screwed on tightly as you do not want the air to damage your product! Also, be careful not to push the perfume up too high as I can't figure out a way to pull it down. The scent of this perfume is beautiful!

I like LUSH, really I do, but I'm not a big fan of their fragrances. I like vanilla, though, so a couple of years back I bought a bottle of vanillary. Last time I tried it I was still suffering the hormonal ravages of post-pregnancy so I thought maybe I didn't like it because almost everything was too much for me then. I tried it again today and no, it wasnt' the hormones.
First of all, this scent is almost a dupe to their discontinued Emperor of Ice Cream buttercream. It's very jasmine/vanilla, and it's very rich a sweet. Too sweet. And it has a touch of plastic in it. I would like this more if it had something to balance it......but it's just straight up cloyingly sweet vanilla and jasmine. Sorry. Not my bag. There are some nice jasmine/vanilla scents out there but this one is just too much and too....I don't know........young or something.

HaHaHa. I am nearly laughing out loud at the reviews of this product as I am sniffing it on my wrist right now. As a lover of nearly all things vanilla, I figured I would try this also. It seems I am not alone in my thoughts of this scent. I too had the "this smells like animal pee" moment lol. I suppose there is some animalistic musk in this somewhere. I also got a tonka bean-like, woody, earthy undertone that kept the scent from completely turning on me. However (and here's the kicker) as I sit here and smell my wrist some 2 hours later I get...tuberose?! What is this? I smell like Marc Jacobs edp and I HATE that scent. Needless to say I will not be purchasing this. If this scent works for you - more power to you.
