Well here is another "universally flattering" color that does not flatter me at all, much like NARS orgasm. I have fair skin (though I sometimes fake-tan), light blonde hair, and blue/grey/green eyes. Cool pinks always work the best for me, but even if I try darker colors, cool tones always seem to work better for me. Orange/brown tones just don't seem to work for me. I'm still giving it 3 lippies though because the formula is nice enough and the color seems to be great for other people, but not me.

Don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this gloss, its only just as sticky as other glosses. I also did not notice any moisturizing effect unfortunately. An advantage is, that this shade really seems to suit any skintone and colour, that’s why I would repurchase even though the price is quite high for a simple lip gloss.

im very tan. i have dark eyes and dark hair. i wear a lot of black eyeliner and bronzer but i usually dont wear any other colored makeup. i have strong dark features and dont want to overwhelm them with a lot of makeup. i was given this by a friend, and i really like this. its gossy but not sticky. it just gives your lips a bit of slip. this color in particular is flattering on many different complexions. i dont know if i would buy this but i am quite happy with it and will use the whole tube. it has the slightest hint of color and it complements the bronzed skin look i go for. will be excellent for the summer. only thing it would benefit from is spf.

I tried the black honey almost lipstick years ago and didn't really like the color on me. Well, either my taste has changed or I just look better with a sheerer version but I love this gloss! The color is a pretty, sheer reddish brown and it's great for everyday. About a year ago I had a terrible reaction to a face wash I am now prone to eczema ON my lips. It's very hard to treat and I can't use most of my old glosses (RIP NARS collection.) Luckily, I can use this with no problems and as a bonus it actually does soften my lips unlike other moisturizing glosses I've tried.

I got this in a set and thought this was going to be an unusable product since it looked so dark. To my surprise it's flattering to my pale skin and red hair. The tint and the feel are nice it's not sticky like a lot of glosses, and the color seems to last longer than most. I also don't have to use much since the formula is so thick so it'll probably last me a long time. It seems to moisturize alright at the very least it doesn't leave my lips chapped.I'm happy I can finally wear a darker more mature color.

I never thought I could pull this color off being primarily a wearer of pale pinks and nudes on my lips. But it works. It feels great on the lips, not too sticky, and it has staying power. I line my lips with a wine or darker berry lip liner and fill in with black honey gloss and away I go. It makes a great fall lip. I'm going to have to purchase a back up

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this yet…I love everything about this! I am obsessed with Black Honey EVERYTHING so when I saw this at Sephora online (the only place its available, as far as I know) I ordered 3 tubes. Since I only use a tiny bit at a time, I should be set for life. The color is so pretty, a deep yet sheer berry-red. It just amps up my natural lip color, but also adds a little gloss & moisture over berry, plum & red lipcolors. It’s sheer enough to apply without a mirror, and the slant-tip tube is hygenic & convenient to apply on the go. The Superbalm formula is thick & a tiny bit sticky, so it lasts a long time on my lips, 2-3 hours or so, which is really good in my opinion for a balm/gloss hybrid. It leaves my lips feeling moisturized as long as its on, and does not dry out my lips once it wears off. It is pretty shiny, so I prefer just to work a small amount into my lips for just a bit of a sheen, since I don’t like a really glossy look. There is no scent or taste. This is a great, neutral color, easy to apply and wear, and makes my lips feel good. A holy grail product, for sure!

My mom had actually given me this gloss, and at first the color is deceiving! It looks so dark, but it's pretty sheen, and gives a nice purpleish color to the lips.

I was not even thinking about this gloss until I ran out of another brand. I wear it alone or layer it with Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey as well. A guy I went on a few dates with commented, "how do your lips stay like that?" I was liking the gloss but it wasn't that big of a deal until his remark. LOL. It lasts very long and gives you just a hint of lovely color. This may be overpowering for those of lighter hues as I'm NC50/NW50 in summer. LOVE THIS STUFF!

Clinique Black Honey seems to be the only color I can wear on my lips - every other lip color I try is either too cool or too brown and looks horrendous (except possibly Fresh lip treatment in Plum, but it's not really a lippie). I've yet to find a true dupe either. This is perfectly mlbb for me as I prefer a natural, sheer look esp. as I get older - basically, my 'makeup' is a tinted sunscreen and black honey lips, nothing else. The black honey color seems to brighten up my whole face. Like others have said, it looks dark in the tube but goes on sheer and mlbb. For reference, I have dark hair & eyes, pale (around nc15/20) - not quite ppp as I have a golden undertone (or olive, not really sure). And my lips are quite pigmented so most mlbb shades are too light for me. I think the Almost Lipstick has a bit more red in it and is slightly deeper which may be starting to look a bit too harsh on me as I get older, or maybe it's because I'm paler due to diligent sunscreen use. The gloss is perfect though and also a nice formula, not too sticky.

Edited: I would just like to add that I have found another color that also works well with my skintone which is Nars Rose Gitane lip gloss.

* Me - NC30
* Note - Although it looks dark in the tube, the color is actually very sheer and not dark at all. It is a totally matte color without any shimmer or glitter.
* Pros - A nice, natural berry color that looks natural and is moisturizing. Seems to be a universally flattering color and a great alternative to boring ole chapstick or Vaseline on my lips when I want just a touch of color. I like to use it alone or with a lip stain.
* Cons - None.

Ordered this from Sephora and was somewhat worried about how dark it looked. Since I usually only wear cherry chapstick and being pretty fair, I was prepared to get this and it be dark violet on my lips and I would end up hating it! WRONG!! It goes on so sheer, gives my lips just a nice tint of color and shine, and feels good on my lips (not too sticky). Love that I can apply this without looking in a mirror and it's not too shiny/glittery that I feel uncomfortable wearing at work (Im a nurse and don't want to look like Im going for a night out while my patients are laying there sick lol) Also love that I don't have to apply over and over, like I do with chapstick, since most days I don't even have time at work to use the restroom, let alone reapply lipgloss! My friend tried some of mine and ended up ordering 2 tubes! I will definately be repurchasing!

This is a fabulous balm. The black honey color really does seem to work well on just about everyone. I have the shear almost lipstick in black honey, but I like that the gloss is just a little bit more shear--it's lip color that I don't have to look in a mirror to apply. And, unlike most of the other superbalm colors, this color does seem to actually give a nice tint to lips. Beautiful color.

I am on my second tube of this and I really love it . It goes on like butter and has a nice shine. But since there is no glitter, it is a great everyday gloss, not over the top. On me it 's a sheer dark cherry color (I'm an NC 43/44) and gives just the right amount of color.

I puchased this 3 days ago and I wore it today for the first time... I am in love, such a wearable, everyday shade. Also the moisturebalms are exremely hydrating so getting the color black honey + super soft lips = bliss!!! I better stock up on these now since they are LE! But, I love,love, love! :)

Spoils fast (gross smell). It's thick and sticky and ironically, I'd rather have honey on my lips than synthetic crap that's thick, smelly and sticky. As for the shade, it's a natural brown-red tint that's not really noticeable. The pigmentation is light and hence a good choice for those looking to add a natural tint to their lips. The texture however (thick and smelly because it spoils fast) is extremely off-putting and I would look for natural glosses elsewhere.

I bought this because I wore the Almost Lipstick in Black Honey throughout much of high school. The color is great and universally flattering. Clinique lip glosses tend to be pretty thick and sticky, and never last very long. My major complaint, and the reason I will never purchase one again, is that it went bad on me after just a month! Clinique must use some ingredient in their glosses that goes rancid, because this is the third gloss that has gone bad for me. They're not cheap, and considering the formula isn't that great to begin with...you'd be better off with another brand.

I love, love, love the color and texture of this product. For reference, I'm Chinese and use sunny beige in Laura Mercier's foundation. Although it looks dark in the tube, it is actually quite natural looking on my lips. I also like that it's not sticky or gooey at all. The only downside is that it doesn't last very long. I've been using Lancome Juicy Tubes for years but was ready for a more natural looking gloss so I'm glad I found this product (which can only be purchased at Sephora). Overall, a pretty awesome product!

i love the subtle berry colour black honey lends your lips. i also love how silky smooth my lips feel both with this on and immediately after i've been wearing it.

the only thing i don't really like is the package it comes in, i'd much prefer a regular lipgloss tube with a wand applicator. it seems to me that when it's cold, products in tubes like this are kind of a pain to apply.
