Works ok but creates curls unevenly, some too crispy, some too frizzy. But I avoid this product maainly beause it has an offensive strong spicy powery green masculine aftershave scent. I absolutely HATE it whether worn on male or female. If ind it sooo strong it makes me sneeze and gives me a headache. Please consider your work-mates and do not use this product until the scent is re-formulated.

I have been using this beach curl spray for about a month now and I absolutely love this product! I have naturally wavy and frizzy hair that I always flat iron in Autumn/Winter. In Spring/Summer I like to stop using any heat on my hair and just let my waves fly free, but my hair is always so poofy or frizzy looking even when using past taming and curl serums. But then I bought this. This product actually works for my hair. My waves are more defined and I now have that sexy beach waves look with minimum frizz and no poof!
Firstly, I shampoo and condition my hair and rinse out with either warm or cold water (I've tried them both and the end result is still the same). After mildly towel drying, I let my hair air dry for about 10-15 minutes so it's not super wet and then add the product on damp hair. I usually spray the product about 5 or 6 times throughout the different sections and levels of hair, comb it in with a wide tooth comb and then scrunch. I then continue to let my hair air dry and every once in a while scrunch some more when I remember. At this point I have defined waves but if it appears a bit flat I just wet my hands with water and scrunch my hair and then PRESTO! Beach waves!
I wash my hair every two days and this product keeps my hair full of oomph! I basically wake up in the morning, flip my hair over, scrunch my hair with wet hands, and then I'm good to go. I will definitely be repurchasing.

I've read some reviews that have said this product smells really bad but I didnt think so at all. I loved the smell! And at first, i also liked the texture and extra wave it gave me as I already have kinda wavy hair. But after a few weeks of using it, (because my hair is pretty damaged at the ends) my ends seemed soooo much drier and my split ends were really noticable. Also, it made my hair knot really really easily and didn't make my hair feel nice at all, it kinda felt like i had a s***load of hairspray all through my hair. Maybe for people with healthier hair, it would work better.

This is a really, really good hair product if you, like me, have wavy hair that needs that extra bit of oomph to get the perfect beachy, messy hair.
After some trial and error, I've perfected my routine. I shower (only using shampoo, and rinsing with ice cold water), then towel dry my hair. I flip my hair, and spray the product in (don't be too liberal with it. You don't want crunchy hair!) and massage it in from the roots and out. Then I wrap my hair in a towel and leave it for 15 minutes or so. Then I leave my hair to air dry, and when it's about 80% dry, I do a very messy french braid and leave it for another hour or so. Once I pull it out, I run my hands through my hair and voila! Beachy, messy waves that are glossy and feel natural.
Only con - I HATE the packaging. I am super clumsy, so I like packaging that's real sturdy and can handle being dropped left, right and centre. I purchased it and promptly dropped it (I had bought a bunch of products that day and did not want a plastic bag). The plastic cap rolled off, the bottle dented, and the little plastic spray came off. I ended buying a plastic spray bottle and decanted the rest into that.

Love this! I tried it at the store during a terrible hair day (My hair drier broke!) and the difference was noticeable...my husband insisted that I buy it right away. I have frizzy, wavy/curly thick hair which I had pretty much given up wearing naturally. My hair really looks incredible. If you use too much of it, it can get really crunchy; but I always use my hands to work through my hair and scrunch, and it looks awesome. I've also used it on my dry hair to tame some frizz. I LOVE this product and I'm alternating wearing my hair naturally with my usual straightening. The smell is a bit baby powdery, and doesn't bother me in the slightest, and I'm usually very sensitive to smells.

If I ever had an HG product, it would be this. This takes my flimsy thin wavy hair to a whole other level, a level of big, bouncy curls that hold indefinitely (until product is rinsed out). My mom said to me last time I saw her: "I didn't know your hair could look like this!". I'm not bothered by the scent at all, I think it smells quite nice... (funny how people react so different to scents)
For me, it works best if I use it on dry hair. I spray it on, scrunch the curls in place, and max. 10 min. later they are set. I then proceed to brush through the hair (I do not have frizz issues) to make the curls as big and soft as possible. Then a little hair spray and I'm done.
Next morning I simply reactivate the product by scruncing the curls/waves flattened from sleeping w/ wet hands and let dry naturally, and - TADAA - hair looks perfect again.
The day after I use a little dry shampoo on the roots, scrunch the hair w/ wet hands again and maybe use a little more Beach Curl Spray. This works perfect for my hair and also means one bottle of this stuff lasts for ages.
I don't believe in washing my hair every day, so being able to restyle twice is a really big extra benefit. My hair and scalps loves and has never looked so healthy, curly and shiny.

Wow, I've been using this product for a week and so far it has not failed me! I have naturally wavy hair that curls easily, but always ends up frizzy and Hermione-esque.
This is one of the only products that lasts! Usually you will put it on, think it's great, step out the door and not realise your hair just puffed into a mess. This lasts all day and if it does start to get a little frizz, just spray a little bit on that area and it's back to perfect. Use it on towel dried (damp) hair (not completely wet or dry). It was a non-event when I used it on dry hair (without having used it on my hair when it was damp and leaving it to dry naturally), coming out with the normal poofiness.
The smell is not as bad as everyone is saying. When I read the reviews after buying the product (but not having used it yet) I was prepared to have to put it on outside with a peg on my nose! It's not the best smell, but it's not horrible. It doesn't stay with you all day (who smells their hair all day?) but if this is the case you've either got the smell stuck in your nose, or you're using wayyy too much product. It doesn't leave my hair sticky, but maybe a slightly crunchy in certain places - nothing as bad as the curl mousse products from brands such as garnier or schwarzkopf though. It's very slight and unnoticeable. My curls look very beachy, wavy and it doesn't leave my hair flat by the end of the day.

I'm sure the many people having trouble with this product are just using too much of it. I will give you an idea of what I do in the morning.
1. Wet your hair completely with warm water (I find it's much easier to style your hair with warm water instead of cold). Wring out excess water and wrap it up in a towel.
2. Depending on how fast your hair dries, leave your hair in the towel until it's dry enough to not have water dripping from the ends. For me this is 10-15 minutes, and I take this time to do makeup or get dressed.
3. Spray the can arms length away from your hair (20cm). Do not use too much! I usually use about 5-6 squirts. Two on each side at the front. Two on each side at the middle section, one at the back and another on the underside of my hair (which is very important as it is the base for the frizz).
4. Comb or brush your hair to evenly distribute the product. If you don't this is where my problems begin - crunchy curls on one strand, frizz on another.
5. Scrunch your hair. Continue to do this whilst it is drying so it holds the curl. Do NOT brush it. So many times I hear girls brushing their hair once it is dry (or drying) but your frizz lies in your hairbrush - dastardly thing.
5a. This is normally when I blowdry my fringe/bangs and I also like to blowdry the top part of my hair so it's mostly the ends that are curly.
5b. Don't freak out that you look like a wet dog. It looks like any other product whilst it's drying and I was lowering my hopes whilst waiting - but the prize is the end result.
6. If you find it's not drying quick enough for you, blowdry your hair with a diffuser just enough so that it still remains a little damp. Your hair needs to dry naturally just a little bit, as drying it the whole way through with the diffuser will create frizz.
7. If you have any flyaways use a very small amount (the size of a pea or two, depending on your hair type and rub it evenly between your hands) of leave in conditioner over the top layer of your *dry* hair. Don't rake your fingers through as it will ruin your curls. Just lightly pat it on.
I hope this helps you as this product has worked perfectly for me so far! If I have any problems I will make sure to edit and let you know.
xx.

I have naturally curly hair which I almost always flat iron straight since the curly ends up looking frizzy very quickly after it dries. I bought this product for my daughter to use, but brought it with me on a recent trip to Las Vegas by accident (intending to bring a different product but this one somehow ended up in my bag.) On one lazy afternoon during the trip and in my haste to get back to enjoying the Strip, I decided to have a quick shower and gave this product a try on my wet hair. It looked fabulous. no sign of frizz at all, although I think Vegas's dry climate helped as well, as I am from a normally humid area. I love the smell, and yes it does last for hours, but I find it pleasant, and anyone who comes close enough to me to smell it always comments on how good my hair smells. This bottle is large and will last a long time, but I would definitely repurchase it when it runs out, as letting my hair air dry using this product is definitely less damaging for my hair than daily blow drying and flat ironing.

I was shopping for a new spray wax/curl spray. I ended up buying this solely for the smell. I love it. I even bought the shampoo and conditioner on the same line because of the smell.
When I first used the spray, I didn't notice that much. THen again, I wasn't expecting some miracle product. I have very very straight hair, that has some natural wave when it air dries. All I really wanted to to enhance those waves without weighing my hair down.
I went to bed, and the next morning, holy crap curls galore. My hair was so wavy. It wasn't even crunchy or fake looking or anything bad, and it was so soft.
I am in love.

I love the results. Very beachy tousled waves. I've used lots of similar products and this one is one of the best. I do prefer the fructis surf hair spray better though. The smell of this product is strong but I don't hate it. I find that it is less noticable when used on wet hair.

Great texture but the smell made me feel soooo sick! Even worse, the smell doesn't fade, it stinks for hours. Ew. Definitely would not buy again.

This spray does the job, and gives the hair exactly the right texture. Sadly, the smell is very strong. It could have passed if it smelled good, but it dont. I can not get myself to use it anymore. So im probably going to toss it, instead of giving it to someone else. I cant imagine that anyone would enjoy this smell, and i dont want someone i could meet to smell like this.

The spray is okay -- beware of extreme crispy texture. It does encourage more curl than your average beach curl product, but I found the texture off-putting.
