Polished up is a nice brown lipstick with brick - plum undertones. Although I am in the range of NC 15, this lipstick is not too dark and it does not make me look washed out where a lippie with more brown in it would muddy my features. I think it is a great substitute for Bobbi Brown Kir and Raisin colours (which I enjoy but am not able to get at all where I live). Polished up is not MLBB but it is a nice lip colour for daytime. Not my fave in the summer, but it gets its share of wear time in the fall and winter.

Lipstick is my favorite cosmetic product. I have A LOT of lipstick! This is ,along with Viva Glam VI, one of my all time favorite lipsticks. It's a gorgeous brownish-plum on me. It compliments my NC30-35 coloring. Love it!

Just purchased this shade yesterday and I LOVE IT! I am an NC44/C7 and was looking for neutral shade that still gave me some UMMPH and this was definitely it! Dont be intimidated by the shade coming from the tube. When applied it is a shimmery/shear plum like brown. Perfect go-to shade for Day/Night & Spring/Fall :)

Hands down, my HG lipstick. The name fits it perfectly because it really is a MLBB shade. I have worn this lipstick in every type of setting - from shopping to interviews to black tie events. If it works with your complexion, it's a no-brainer for a simple, pretty, "polished-up" look.

This is a beautiful natural looking brown. It is not as dark on as it is in the tube. It blends well with my brown skin and mlbb. It's a very nice neutral. Definitely check this out; I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

This may become my new, daily HG! This is what I had been hoping for from Sheer Plum, but didn't get. The color is a brownish wine/plum color that gives a lovely glow. It looks frighteningly dark in the tube but goes on very sheer. It's a great neutral for warm undertones like mine. It's sort of a darker version of the raisin lustre in the Tartan Tale A Fabulous Fantasy lip palette. As with all the other lustre lipsticks, it also has a great texture in being slightly glossy without being sticky, and relatively more moisturizing than the other Mac formulas. Try it at your Mac counter, I don't think you'll be disappointed and this lipstick deserves a lot more love!

At first glance in the tube, it looks like any other brown lipstick with shimmer. However, once I apply it, it turns into a soft bronze plum that goes with almost any look. Perfect for day or night. This will remain in my rotation along with Shitaki and Touch!!!

I love this brownish color covered with Milani Summer Baby and Coach Gardenia lip glosses. It's a bit dark/harsh by itself against my NC55 skin. It has the typical lipstick smell and goes on very smooth without glittery chunks.

A lovely plum/brown sort of color. Very neutral with a soft sheen. Makes a good "go-to" neutral for anything, and when you just can't seem to find something "just right", this one will pull it all together.

On initial application, I don't see any red in this at all...at least not on me. On my lips, it looks like a sheer brown...nothing much else. As the day goes on however, I do get a really nice tint of brownish red left behind. Overall, this color gives a very professional, clean look when used with a brow highlighter, black e/l and mascara. This will definitely be my go-to lipstick for day and night. Highly recommend. I removed one lippie due to lack of longevity...as with all Lustre formulas, it seems.

I love this shade of red. It makes my NC 43 skin pop in photos. It's a reddish, brick looking color. This is like my fifth tube and I've been wearing Polished Up for about 8 years. I seem to always return back to this one.

The Lipstick in Polished Up is kind of a satin version of the Clinique Bare Brilliance in Chocolate Ice - but not really. Its actually a difficult color to describe - it belongs in the plum family of M.A.C. lip colors but is darker than the Sheer Plum and lighter than the heavier plum/wine/brick shades. I think it's probably the perfect subdued red/pink/brown for someone with my skin tone (olive...ish). The finish is a nice light, pearly lustre that again, is nice for day but even better for night with an extra coat or two and a layer of gloss.

I am an NC44 and was looking for a neutral but sheerer lipstick. I already have Viva Glam VI, and was considering getting Charasmatic which I have tried before but had not bought. Both of these are sheer but is a more on the orange side on me. I wanted a sheer brown and this fit the bill. It will be a staple in my everyday lip color selection. It is not too dark, to reddish or too orangish. I tried Parmount which was a little to dark, especially with Spring on the horizon (although I would consider it for fall), Spice it Up - did nothing for me, Lame,- too much pink and a frost, which I am not into and Twig- too much pink, too light. This is a great sheer lip color for Sping/Summer for those with darker skinned complexions who want a neutral with a little bit of shine.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this lipstick...I've been wearing this as my daily color for almost 6 years now. It blends so well with my coloring and there's enough brown to counter my natural lip color (which tends to make everything more pink). I do have to reapply it several times a day, but it wasn't made to last all day.

After getting this lipstick, I was afraid it was going to be too brown. But it goes on quite sheer (with the ability to build up the intensity) and has a gorgeous berry sheen to it. It really is a beautiful shade that will compliment many skin tones and I find myself reaching for almost everyday.

Holy crap- it's yet another fantastic MAC lipstick for me to feel the need to buy 5 of just in case it ever falls under the "Triangle of Death". This is an absolutely beautiful berry/plum/brown with a subtle gold gleam. Very sheer, yet as it wore slowly off it left a lovely stain behind. Couldn't have been more flattering or made me feel more polished and sexy. Colors like this are why lipstick was invented.

My HG lipstick, hands down!!!! I have backup upon backup and will continue to repurchase just in case MAC has the audacity to discontinue this shade. It is the perfect not too bright, not too dark lipstick that somehow goes along with any and every eye combo. It goes on a beautiful neutral sheer brown/plum/rose that is flattering on my DDD skintone throughout every season. I love the lustre formula but I do wish it lasted longer, that would be my only negative about this lipstick. Great everyday color.

MAC describes this lipstick as "Foxy Brown." I don’t typically like dark lipsticks and have a slight phobia of brown lipsticks since I kind of ODed on them in high school with the brown lip look was in (ew, anyone remember that?!). But I decided it was time to brave brown shades again with the acquisition of Polished Up. Fortunately it’s a Lustre, so it’s fairly sheer – applying to a nice browned-plum natural-looking lip color on me. It is a bit reminiscent of my brown-lipstick days, but with a bit more reddened warmth so it actually somewhat flattering on my medium Asian complexion. I don’t wear Polished Up often as it’s still a tad too dark for me to completely adore it, but it’s a great alternative to my usual neutral lip. Love the vanilla smell and this doesn’t dry my lips out. Probably won’t repurchase when I run out, but I’m pleased with this lipstick.
6/3/06 EDIT: I actually gave this lipstick to my C7-skinned friend because it looks beautiful on her! Most popular neutral lipsticks don't work on her obviously, but Polished up perfectly complimented her dark skin tone while giving her lips a little hint of color.

This goes on a beautiful neutral coral-brown with a sheen, very flattering on my DDD skintone. Great everyday staple, but it's a little drying even though I always wear lipbalm under. Still, I would recommend this highly for darker skinned ladies.

wow. just...wow! i went in today to get (yet another) B2M lipstick, but i had no idea what i wanted. i tend to wear either natural/nude colors or bright orangey/coral shades. i had a line-up of colors similar to those i already own, but on a whim i tried Polished Up -- i don't really have any deep brownish shades. since i do some freelance work, i figured it would be nice to expand into some uncharted lip territory, too. i was pleasantly surprised to find that i LOVE this color! being a Lustre formula, it has the high-shine, super-moisturizing qualities i love and that keeps this deep, rich color from being too dark for my fair skin (NW/NC20). in the tube, the shade looks overwhelming, but it goes on a lovely, sheer raisin/date/fig color that can be built up for more color payoff.
although this could be worn alone, it looks even better with 80% cremestick liner.
i haven't heard much hype about this lipsick, but i don't understand why. this may very well be one of the most underrated lipsticks MAC has to offer!
