I guess the fact that I've been continually buying this mascara for years speaks for itself. I don't know if I'd say it enhances your eye colour, but it's a nice colour and thickens/lengthens nicely. I use the waterproof one and it lasts a lot longer than most other waterproofs I've tried.

This was an alright product. I have blonde eyelashes, so I tend to be more picky when it comes to mascaras. This turned out to be a sparkly gray mascara (with one coat) with no "eye-popping" qualities, at least not to me. However, it thickened more than I expected, and I thought it would just be a basic mascara. However, I did have to use my eyelash comb to separate my lashes pretty thoroughly. Also, after a few hours, the mascara wore out at the top and was less gray.

Overall: a good casual mascara only meant to be worn if an eyelash comb is available and if only for around 4 hours

I honestly don't notice this looking blue on my lashes at all, nor do I notice any "brightening" effects to my blue eyes, but this is a really good basic mascara - thickening more than lengthening, stays in place all day. I'm on my second tube of this for everyday wear.

I'm really surprised that the reviews for this aren't more favorable. I've tried a good number of mascaras and this is in my top two. It doesn't clump, gives nice volume and length, has a beautiful subtle color, and has a great applicator. It also didn't dry out like I've have some mascaras do. If you're looking for very obvious color, then keep looking. If you're looking for a good-quality mascara with some very subtle colored shimmer, then definitely give this a try! I also loved the ease with which I can get it off at night. I've had some mascaras that just wouldn't come off until I'd gone over my eyes with remover a dozen times. I would definitely recommend this!

Love, love, love it! This is a shimmery gunmetal blue colour which enhances my already blue grey eyes. It darkens my lashes just enough for them to be noticeable (my eyes look silly in black mascara). This is a good product for those who don't want dramatic lashes. The wand allows for perfect application and the formula doesn't clump. I normally am a complainer of mascaras, but have nothing to complain about in this review. However, if this is purchased in 'waterproof' you'll have a heck of a time getting it off. Thankfully, this review is for the non-waterproof formula which does not smudge or flake (Cover Girl's Lash Blast flakes though). I will be letting Cover Girl know I am thrilled with this product so they continue to please happy customers like myself.

EDIT: This mascara dried out so fast and ended up becoming clumpy. I added a couple drops of olive oil (yeah, that was stupid) and ruined the texture of the formula so now it's even more useless.

Ugh, I didn't like this mascara very much. Down below, I see some awesome reviews on it and am sorry to be the one to disagree with the pack. I have brown eyes but I got this one because I didn't like the color Covergirl assigned for brown eyes. They told me I should wear a disgusting brown-gold-camo brown type of color on my lashes. Hell no. I got the blue one and I was not happy. It did not give my lashes the results I was hoping to get. This mascara deposited too much product on my lashes, giving me too much volume. Also, the product has no lengthening quality to it, so I was stuck with short, fat lashes. Not attractive. It also hardened my lashes. It has an okay price of $7, so at least it wasn't a regrettable waste of money. I hate to be the party pooper here- I just really didn't like the product.

So let me preface this by saying that I purchased this product for the colour, which was disappointingly, nothing special. Smeared on a tissue, it is black with blue hints and silver glitter, very pretty. But on my eyes, all you see is black. It doesn't really volumized or lengthen. You might like this if you are looking for a softer version of the black define-a-lash, that is not brown.

I picked this up at the Grocery Store because I was looking for a nice coloured mascara and I'd heard such great things about Cover Girl products. Man was I disappointed. So I'll break it down into my usual pro's and cons.

Pros: The package is nice.

Cons: The product inside the package was so hard and dry that it took forever just to get any product on the mascara wand. When I did eventually get product on my lashes it was practically non existant. For what I paid it was such a rip off. Don't bother purchasing find another coloured mascara.

Ok, well what can i say... I LOVE THIS MASCARA! :D (Just so you know i have the waterproof kind, the best way i find to get it off.... CONDITIONER :D it doesnt sting your eyes, and gets it off wonderfully) Some people here say that it doesn't look blue, well to me it looks perfectly blue, not too noticeable and not too ordinary. I've had friends ask about the blue on my eyelashes and they say it looks great and it really does bring out my eyes. When i put it on and step back you can actually tell that my eyes are in fact blue :)) my friends notice my eyes, and one of my close friends always looks at my eyes and says "I LOVE your eyes :D they are soo pretty, the blue is amazing!" and thats when i wear this mascara :D Before i used this my eyes looks dull, and almost brown, which is crazy since now my eyes look like an ocean (blue and gray, and the colors move like water :D) I have very different eyes, and one time my friend actually stared into them for like 2 minutes and said "WHOA! Your eye color just changed/moved!" and i was like what??? So i went home and looked at it, it indeed moves :D It looks like an ocean :D Well anyway enough about my eyes, I am in LOVE with this product and am already on my second tube. I dont think i'll be going back to any other mascara lol as this one is perfect in, or actually to word that better, on, my eyes :D

I bought the waterproof version of this and I actually like it as an everyday mascara. I'm disappointed the blue effect is not more pronounced, it is very subtle. I do think it makes my eyes look a little brighter.

I apply this over my regular black non-waterproof mascara (currently Physicians Formula). It applies easily with the thin brush. It gives good separation and added length but no clumping. My lashes hold the curl all day and I have absolutely no flaking or smudging. None. This is the first mascara I can say that about. It's been years since I tried any of Cover Girl's mascaras so others may be similar. I remove it with Vitamin E Oil or Sweet Almond Oil by applying to my lashes and letting it sit a few minutes. It all comes off but it is definitely not as easy to remove as other waterproof mascaras I've used. I think applying it over regular mascara helps protect my lashes (at least that's what I've read). I would not apply this straight to my lashes simply because I'd be concerned I'd pull out lashes when removing it.

I will repurchase because it's proven to be a great waterproof mascara. I've found a way to use it which works well for me. I'll continue looking for a true dark blue mascara though.

Not what I expected. I mean that in the sense that it didn't dry to a true blue color, it actually looked black! It did go on very well and wore very well and made my lashes look beautiful, but I specifically bought this for the color. A good mascara as a basic black, but I won't be repurchasing because I am looking for a navy mascara for special occasions

The color in the tube is gorgeous....and well that is why I bought it in the first place. But the gorgeous sapphire shade with silver flecks does not become readily apparent on your eyes. It just looks like any normal mascara. As for those saying it is a blue mascara, it most definitely is not, there is no way it could possibly come out blue enough to be noticeable, I even tested it on the ends of my blonde hair, and even then you could not see any blue. So if you are getting this for that exact reason, you are wasting your time and money

But that really didn't bring down this review, I was just looking for a straight up good mascara. Well this definitely was not it.

Another problem with this is the fact that it will not come off! I've dealt with other troublesome waterproof formulas that I like for its long lasting power. But this is horrible, I felt like it was never coming off all of the way. I ended up resorting to soaking cotton squares with witch hazel and letting it stay on my face for a couple minutes.

I do not have sensitive eyes, but it seemed like this mascara was constantly flaking. I could never see small particles on my face, but my eyes were constantly bugging me, basically always feeling like I had something in my eyes. This was definitely not normal, I've tried dozens of brands from high end to drugstore and I have never come across one so bad. I asked a couple of my friends who have tried it, and every single one said the same thing. They didn't know why their eyes had been bothering them. Well this is the key, I hate to throw out barely used mascara, especially while on a project X pan, but I would rather not deal with itchy eyes all day long.

If I could give this product a zero, I would. It does nothing that it promises, it does not brighten up your eyes, nor is it a remotely good mascara.

I have blue/green eyes and I bought this mascara because I thought that it would help bring them out even more.

The color is basically black with a tiny, and I mean TINY hint of sapphire.
It doesn't really enhance anything and is barely noticeable.

I wouldn't buy it again..

I have blue/green eyes, depending on my mood and what I'm wearing will also enhance the color. I've been dying to try this product for a long time and finally just broke down and paid the 7 bucks for it. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it went on super easy and I took a step back from the mirror and my eyes popped. They were so pretty. I will say the kind of black sapphire I bought was waterproof so even my normal make up regime at night didn't seem to take it off but did come off just fine the night after. I did notice some clumping of eyeliner here and there but aside from that, it did the job. I will buy this again.

I've tried a broad spectrum of mascaras in my lifetime, but have stuck with CoverGirl as of late. A few forays into high end mascaras did not pay off; I once read somewhere that mascara is the one makeup item that is not worth a brand name price, and I have to agree. I really love the Lashblast formula, but picked this up instead as it was on sale, and am quite impressed!

As other reviewers have stated, it doesn't have the same oomph that you get with Lashblast's super buildable formula, but it really does bring out my blue eyes. In this sense it really is a perfect daytime mascara as it highlights my eyes without giving me that too made up look.

This is my favorite "blue" mascara. Whenever its on sale, I buy 3 of them so I always have it on hand. It really brings out the blue of my eyes.

It really does bring out the blue in my eyes. The first day I tried this mascara 3 friends of my complimented the color of my eyes. I was really surprised as my eye color is a shade in between blue and green and when I wear the mascara, they are just blue. It makes me look more awake! It does separate my lashes well but I do use Lash Blast if I want a ''going out'' look.

This mascara separates lashes nicely, but didn't bring out the blue in my eyes at all. People kept asking me why i was wearing blue mascara, it was kind of embarassing.

Didn't do a lot for my eyelashes... only made them seem darker. It didn't clump but it didn't lengthen or volumize either.
