I love this fragrance...I only wish it had more staying power. It is light and perfect for summer, although I wear it year round. It works well for me since I work in a place where strong fragrance is unacceptable. I just reapply it before going out again at night if I need to, which I would do with any perfume!

In late spring, I began my quest for a new summer perfume. The summer before I had used Ed Hardy. The first time I wore it I loved it, but as I continued to wear it, I continued to want to throw up. It was too sweet and too synethetic. I really thought about getting Dolce & Gabanna's Light Blue. It's a terribly popular fragrance. That all changed, however, when I tried Burberry Summer on a whim. (This review is for the 2009 edition.) On me, there is nothing synthetic or boring about it. It never once made me want to gag, nor did it give me a raging headache.
Top notes - Red Currant, Mandarin Orange, Litchi
Middle notes - Freesia, Jasmine, Rose, Cyclamen
Base notes - Sandalwood, Musk, White Cedar
As always, review may not be pertinent to you; after all, when it comes to perfume, it's all about your personal body chemistry. However, I can share with you what I have found. This is probably the least inoffensive perfume ever. It really and truly does smell like summer. It's very fresh and very feminine.
The fruity top notes are immediately what makes you think "summer." It's not overly citrus, but the citrus does blend well with all of the other notes to give the fragrance that "fresh" smell.
The middle floral notes in this are really lovely. I'm not the biggest fan of rose or freesia (remember Bath & Body Works' freesia fragrance? gag me...), but these, combined with the lovely aromas of jasmine and cyclamen, are completely palatable.
The base notes keep this beautiful upon dry down. The woodsy aromas of sandwalwood and cedar blended with musk really help it avoid becoming some sickening fruity-floral.
My boyfriend adores this stuff, which makes it a definite keeper for me. Just wish I could find a fragrance for spring; I'd be all set!

I had been searching for a perfume for awhile when I stumbled across this. I loved it instantly. It is the light and fresh version of original Burberry to me. It has lots of summer notes. When I first spray it on I smell some very unique notes that include celery. That's what really drew me to it. After awhile I smell cedar wood, lime leaf, tea. I can see some simlar notes to D & G Light Blue, but I don't think they are interchangeable. I also don't really find Summer generic as some have said. All in all I really love it!

I love this scent. I originally got it as a sample @ sephora, and showed my bf by spraying it in the bag so he could sniff it. Neither of us were very impressed, I thought it smelled too citrus-y or something? But I put it on today, and not only did I get about 5 separate compliments on how I smell, but my boyfriend sniffed me all day long and gushing about how great I smelled. It works well with my chemistry and although its not entirely "original", I think its a nice staple for a summery scent. And yes, the staying power is low. But its better than being an overpowering, never ending, headachy type :)

Ok first of all I know nothing about perfume. I just know what I like and what I don't like.. And this I LOVE. It's so fresh and summery. Would have been my perfect summer scent if it wasn't for the poor staying quality. It's only eau de toilette, which is disappointing, especially considering the price. But I bought it nonetheless, cause it reminds me of Sergio Tacchini's O.Zone, which is pretty much impossible to find nowadays. This will have to do as a replacement. I'll just have to put it in my bag and spritz more than once a day. Maybe I'll finally use up a whole bottle of perfume before I get bored. :)
And for the record, I don't think it smells anything like Light Blue. Not on me, anyway. Light Blue is more masculine.

This is a light, citrusy fragrance. I think it smells just like Light Blue. It is a pleasant fragrance but the staying power is extremely poor. It vanishes completely within minutes. I am very disappointed and would not re-purchase.

First of all, I dont think I can buy this again even if I wanted to because it seems like they come up with a new burberry summer.. well, every summer!
It's a "summery" scent and I like it's crispness. It's not overpowering at all! Overall, a pretty good scent, but I have better ones.

Sheer fruity floral with no offense in it, but not a lot of originality either. It's really really pretty and would work for many occasions, but I have enough pretty fruity florals to last me forever. I kind of feel like I've done this already to death.

Bought this today. It's basically the same as the summer 2008 limited edition but the bottle is slightly different, same shape but it has a red tinge to the bottom half - I think, very cute. The perfume shop I got this from said it only came in this week and as soon as I saw the bottle I thought it's really eye catching. I was going to get the Burberry summer fragrance last year but didn't then it sold out. As for the juice, well it's definitly sharp at first but this dries down (on me anyway) to a a kind of soft woodsy scent which I quite like. It's not my HG perfume or anything and I would not re-purchase. Edit; lasting power is not very good, more like a body spray! Testers always seem to be stronger than the one you end up purchasing, took it back and got a refund - even the SA said the tester smelled stronger.
