Love this foundation. I think it's one of the best covering foundations, without looking cakey or un-natural. It's always my go-to foundation for attending parties or weddings! it doesn't burn my skin at all like the Traceless did (must have a lot of fragrance or something in there)...however you can get some flakies so a good moisturizer underneath is a must! I would give this product a 5 however b/c it has some "bad" ingredients (toxic) I will settle with a 4! But 5 for how it looks ;)

Love this foundation, it has always worked for me. I was really miffed when I went to get a refill and discovered that they had gone out of business. However, I did discover the website and got my Virtual Skin. I have some comments to add about Lauder pulling this product line from the stores and their new decision to supply it online.

A few days ago, I got an email from Prescriptives Online that linked to a video heralding the "new" online Prescriptives, saying they had listened to the numerous letters they had received and so they were making the products available online. It had been pretty obvious over the last year that they were manufacturing again because product wasn't running out.

Personally, I think the Lauder organization messed up here. When they pulled this product line, they ignored the loyal customers. If you read their financial reports you find it is their policy to pull products that don't increase in sales consistently. I would think steady sales should be good enough, but not for them. Prescriptives was not supported by Lauder because it had zero advertising. I would have appreciated something approaching an apology from Lauder, rather than a semi-cryptic video emailed to me.

Omg! Why did no one tell me this was back via the prescriptives website? This has been HG for years and when the counters closed i found nothing else like it. I googled it on a prayer today hoping id find some old bottles for sale after failed attempts at NARS sheer glow and every other sheer formula from big brands.

This is the most gorgeous coverage that leaves a dewy finish. My only complaint is the bottle (needs a pump) and the length of time it stays on (not bad if i set...its gone in 2-3 hrs if i dont).

Buy it up on the site ladies so they will bring back this awesome brand!

I used this foundation exclusively about 10 years ago, then stopped after a couple of years because I wanted to experiment with other brands. I tried everything from DS to $70+ foundations over this time and found a few I liked but never anything that I loved. When I recently tried to find a new foundation, I was lucky enough to be able to swap for my old shade, Real Ecru. Now I remember how lovely this foundation is. My sensitive, combo, very reactive skin has had no issues with this (just like 10 years ago). This is a solid, basic foundation that provides light to medium buildable coverage without any frills. I don't like that the jar does not have a pump, but I dip a clean q-tip into the jar to apply to my face, then spread with my Px foundation brush (which has lasted more than 10 years!). Real Ecru is the lightest Y/O shade and is either bit more yellow than I remember it, or my skin has become more neutral since first using this product. Either way I'll definitely repurchase this and the Traceless TM as long as Px keeps selling them. For reference, I'm about a NC15 in MAC, 010 in Dior, and Chantecaille FS in Alabaster is the best color match I've found.

This is my favorite makeup. I am so glad they started making it again. You are able to purchase it on Prescriptives website. It lasts all day. It does not get too oily during the day. It has no fragrance. It is the only makeup that works for my sensitive acne prone skin. Every time I try something else, I regret it and end up right back using Prescriptives. Worth the money!!

Best foundation I've tried. It blended very well and I it felt like I was wearing nothing. It's a very sheer foundation so those looking for more coverage I would not recommend this one. Too bad its so expensive; i will buy again though.

Luckily I could return this product. I have dry/extremely dry skin and this foundation just stuck to my dry spots, and made my skin even dryer. It looked horrible and was the wrong colour - do not buy if you have dry skin!!

his has been my go-to product for over 10 years now. While I may 'cheat' on it occasionally, I always return. I do have difficulty with shades but learned that 4 parts real creme to one part real rose give me the perfect shade. I am terribly disappointed that lauder has chosen to kill Prescriptives. There is no other foundation that compares, believe me I have tried them.

I wanted a very lightweight foundation that was long wearing bc i went on a vacation w my husband recently to Jamaica and all my other ones even my bobbi brown skin foundation wasnt the type of coverage i wanted for such a hot climate and i knew we would be very active there so i needed something to feel like nothing on my face. Well, virtual skin is exactly what it says, your skin but better, however unlike bobbi brown skin foundation this one needs a concealer for any blemishes you might have bc it barely covers anything. I agree it doesnt withstand water but i brought along mac's face and body which served its purpose when i went to the beach or did anything that included water but this one wore really well for me with virtual matte pressed powder and mac blot when i was out and about during the day and night with my husband and believe me the weather was EXTREMELY hot. I applied it with a foundation brush and it looked nice. When i go away to really hot places, i want to look as youthful and fresh as possible and bc of the texture of the foundation, it gives you just that. I took a lippie away bc it's not alot of product in the bottle and i cant really use this all the time as i like fuller, more flawless coverage foundations for work and this doesn't do it but for a natural, lightweight look i will use this for that. I am going away to the bahamas w my husband and son in december so, this will be with me for sure. I will repurchase and i am going to get custom blended after work today, love it. Update- im raising this to five lippies bc i just need to layer it in certain areas to get the coverage i want. This foundation brand in general is great and i love how this foundation looks love and i was absolutely traumatized when the lady told me that prescriptives will be gone january 31, 2010, r u kidding me, what the hell????!!!, anyway i guess i will have to order online after that as long as they have inventory. I will be stocking up on everything i love from this bc this is just ridiculous,

So, at first I liked this product. It was nice. But then I realized it didn't leave me glowing, it left me oily! Apart from that, as the previous reviewer mentioned, this streaks! Plus, if any water comes in contact with you, it melts off like your whole face it melting. That looks gross. lol. I liked that it gave a nice sheer-medium coverage, but it just didn't work out. I tried setting it with powders, and even using oil-blotting sheets. lol. I'd end up using 1 and half sheets for it not for the oil produced by my face.
It's a rip off for $32.
I def. wouldn't repurchase.

Finally someone who has the same problem as I did with this foundation. It will streak and run off your face at the smallest hint of water. If one drop of rain hits your face, it will leave a streak where it drops off. I thought I was the only one as no one else mentioned this before. Otherwise...it is a great foundation. But I can't use it for that one reason. it's so odd. I've never had a foundation do that to me before. I've tried setting it with different powders but it doesn't work.

I was using this till they changed the formula years back. Once it changed, all it took was a sweat bead to have it turn white and run off my face leaving streaks!!! I was horrified. Forget it if you get caught in the rain! I don't know if they fixed this issue, hope so. Before that it was my HG foundation. It held up to my vigorous exercise routine and cardio sessions, and resisted the FL humidity. They had great color match! It was medium coverage on me, leaving me flawless. The packaging was nice, but would be better with a pump. Pricey, but once worth it! Oh well, I am using Revlon ColorStay now. I will not repurchase.

I just got this today and I really like it! What I love about Prescriptives is the color match. Virtual Skin in B/R Level 2, Real Rose, honestly looks like I'm not wearing any makeup. The SA applied this with a foudnation brush, and the coverage was very fresh and light. She said this was "sheer to medium and buildable"- she applied it lightly, but I think I will be able to build up the coverage. I definitely think that you will need to wear concealer with this. The look is incredibly natural which I LOVE- not cakey or noticable at all!

ETA: This color oxidised on me and was too dark. This also didn't hold oil very well for me. However, I might try this in a lighter shade. Next I'll try Px's Mineral Liquid.

I have an extremely pale blue red based skin, and Virtual Skin in Real Camelia is my perfect shade. I always feel embarrassed for girls with a similar complexion who seem to think that any pale foundation will do, when most foundations look like a streaky orange coating on their skin. Real Camelia is a genuinely cool-toned foundation, with no orange tones whatsoever. It blends into the skin and gives a soft, radiant and dewy finish. Perfect.

If you have oily or non-sensative skin this product would be great. I have dry and sensative skin, especially in winter. This product looked great when I had it on, a perfect colour match and my friend even commented how nice my skin looked however as the day went on I could feel my skin becoming dry and irratated. When I took the make up off that night my skin was very red and dry. Unfortunately this product is not good for me which is a shame because it looked great on.

I've been using this for about two years and have been a Prescriptives fan for about 10 years now. The colour matches my skin perfectly and it's oil free. The added bonus - it's SPF10. It doesn't make my skin break out. I set it with Stila Hydrating Finishing Powder which blends with it perfectly. If I don't set it with powder sometimes it feels like "sliding off" when I'm at work in airconditioned room. Still, it's a great product and is great for building up the coverage in case I do have some breakouts or scars. Negatives: 1. The neck of the bottle is a bit too wide as I prefer to use my fingers to apply the foundation. Old Prescriptives bottles where a bit narrower which I found much better. 2. A bit expensive.

I'm oily-combo and I'm at NC35 for MAC
I bought this product in Real Sand, it matches perfectly. After I apply virtual skin with my brush I then use LM setting loose powder. I love this combo because it keeps my oils at bay more than any other makeup I've tired thus far. It's sheer coverage that is buildable. If I have a stubborn blemish or whatever I use my spot concealer from clinique. But in general I don't have to us a concealer other than for my under eyes. Overall I personally love this product but it would be so much better if it came with pump =)

UPDATE: DEC 21 2009: HANDS DOWN BEST FOUNDATION I've ever used and last for hours. Unfortunately I was told today from a Holt Renfrew in toronto that this line is going to be discontinued!!!!!!!!!! :( so sad!!!! stock up ladies. Un-opened bottles have a shelf life of 3 years!!!

Provides a fabulous, dewy finish without being greasy. It blends so smoothly and beautifully. Highly recommended. Does not make skin oily or enlarge pores. The price tag is a bit high, but worth it.

Two things I love about this Virtual Skin liquid foundation: 1) it offers different undertones including yellow/orange which really suits my Asian skin. 2) It looks so natural and dewey! And even though my T-zone tends to get oily, I didn't get that much shine in that area. In fact it looked less oily with the foundation on than just my bare skin.

The downside is that it's too rich for my skin. I was in denial about for several weeks but finally had to admit that this foundation causes clogged pores and acne if I apply it several days in a row, even with judicious cleansing at night. So now I've switched to an oil-free tinted moisturizer. I'm still hanging on to the bottle, though, for occasional nights out.
