I purchased this at the Dollarama (Canada) for $3. I heard its pretty expensive at drugstore so I bought a few. Overall I like it, it works well as a top coat and my polish actually stays on for a few days. A few days is actually huge for me cause no matter the top coat my polish always chips. Nails do feel stronger I can't say wether or not they feel moisturized but overall they seem ok. Some people commented that it takes to long to dry, I find if you apply shortly after applying your polish it does take awhile to dry. What I do with this stuff is ill apply my polish then wait a good long while sometimes even a day then I put this on. By doing this I actually find it dries almost immediately. I have no patience for waiting for my nails to dry lol
Oh and this product can cause air bubbles. So be careful with your application :) xo

Ending up getting this as they did not have the one I was looking for (OPI nail strengthener, yes I should have definitely waited to order online) I picked this one specifically out of Sally Hansens nail strengtheners because it had natural ingredients. It does harden the nail "slightly" not a significant difference maybe 10%, and is good for a base coat, haven't noticed a moisturizing, doesn't make my nails worse. For the price (I paid $17) it was not worth it. I'd say it would be worth about 5 dollars... will not be repurchasing or recommending.
UPDATE: Ending up worse than what I originally wrote. FIRST it peels like almost instantly, and when it doesn't peel off if you put nail polish on it and shower (doesn't matter if it's the next day) the bottom of the polish will start to fold up.. kinda like the water will melt the polish, even one coat. Trust me I've tried everything to make this product work as I've paid an outrageous amount of money for such a horrible product. It really is awful DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

I like to use this alone after I have cut/filed/buffed my nails. I totally heals dry cracked unhealthy nails. I helps my nails grow longer. It's very shiny and makes nails look shiny and healthy and pretty. I really love it. I've used it as a base coat/top coat but I don't like to. Base coats and top coats are completely different. it's like shampoo and conditioner in one. You don't get the full effect and the end result isn't as shiny.

I am always surprised when a product works. And I found that this one works for me. My nails have never looked better, shiny and healthy. My nail ridges are less noticeable. I would definitely buy this product again.

This cost $10 which is more than I would pay for nail polish, but I'm so glad I did. I can see noticeable growth after only a few weeks and as a top coat it makes my polish last twice as long. HG nail product for me!

Really dislike this because it is so hard to dry! I might spread my manicure out over several hours to ensure that everything goes on perfectly. But even hours and hours after using this product, I get crease marks on my polish! Grrrrr.

This product seems great the first day but it started to chip and peel off by the second. Also, I have been using it for about two months because I paid for it so why not use it. My nails look worse than when I started! They now chip more easily and one of my nails split in half horizontally; so the top half of one of my nails is gone and the bottom half is really soft, not shiny at all, and rough.
I was shocked at first, Salley Hansen has always been amazing and this got good reviews too. Also, my nails weren't bad before, I just wanted to be able to grow them longer. Now my nails are disgusting and I have to be really careful with them.

It is a good product, however I did find that it did not apply very smoothly, maybe because of the brush and also that with 9 months the product began drying up in the bottle. I expected better from a product that cost me NZD35 after all my OPI nail polishes don't dry out that quick and I pay NZD25 for them. I prefer Orly Base and Top coats now.

I have dry nails so that's why I decided to pick this one up. Sometimes I wear it alone or use it as a base coat. My nails look healthy and conditioned when I wear this product. I also like the shine. I would purchase again.

I've always been a Sally Hansen fan on nail products and I always will be. I bought this treatment as a first step for better and more moisturized nails. This treatment definitely satisfies me and my nails as a base coat and top coat. However, when worn alone with even 3 coats, it wears off really fast. I really wished it lasted longer or else it would have been perfect but I think I'll move on to other ones for now.

So I bought this primarily to help the ridge filling (as a base coat)...all the additional bonus' things didn't hurt either. My nails aren't exactly dry, and I'm not sure they are brittle either. But they do tear from time to time (if I catch my nail) and a few have a slight ridge across the nail from when I had acrylics on (for 2 weeks then removed them feeling ashamed of myself for hurting my nails in this manner). I haven't had a tear since I began using this...so I guess that means it's working on that count. As far as filling the slight ridges...it does. I will say though that it's best to use a light hand when applying this because if you don't it can get thick very easily and if you're me that means an excruciatingly slow dry time. So, what I usually do is wear 1 light coat under my polish ONLY. I know the package says to use it as both a base and top coat...but this just doesn't work for me as a top coat! I do like this and will probably re-purchase. Yes, it's $12.99 (kind of steep for a DS brand) but it's worth it as HE brands that do what this does can run far more expensive for the same effects.

I use this once a week during my manicure as a base and top coat. It's a GREAT base coat. I tend to have dry nails that chip pretty easily. The times that I forget to bring this to the salon, my nails always break and chip off at the ends. When I bring it, I never have an issue. This stuff is a miracle base coat.
It's also not a bad top coat. It does what it needs to do. It's marginally glossy on normal polishes. It falls flat when you have grittier, glitter polishes though. The grittiness is kept at bay for about a day, then it pops up.
But like I said, other than that, it's great. I currently am using it alone because I used a very bad nail polish that chipped in big chunks (OPI Absolutely Alice, do NOT recommend it!), and it's been keeping my nails nice and healthy until my next manicure.

amazing base coat; craptastic top coat. this seems to be the perfect base coat for my perpetually dry nails (and makes a decent ridge filler as long as the ridges aren't too deep), but as a top coat is sucks; I cannot for the life of me get this to dry when I use it as a top coat. I mean *hours* after I do my nails this stuff keeps my polish mushy, even after using SH 'insta-dri drops' which normally makes me mani's rock hard in 20min. ugh! for $13 it's kind of disappointing.

Definitely not worth the money. My manicure chipped after one day when I used this as a base coat and then top coat just as the package instructs.

At first I hated it - I used it as a top coat and it took forever to dry. Even after it dried, it left a dull cast on my nails. Worse still, I didn't notice any improvement in my nail conditions. But after switching to using it as a base coat instead, my nails are now much stronger with much less frequent chipping, peeling or breaking. I actually do quite like it now!

I've never been a fan of SH nail treatment products, but unlike another poster, this saved my nails. Two weeks before I had been using lots of nail polish remover, acetone, and Blue Cross to get my super stubborn cuticles in shape. Well the combination of the three totally dehydrated y nails. I had never had super dry, brittle nails my entire life until two weeks ago. Such a mess. My nails started to peel and flake on the upper layers where I was overzealous with my cuticle remover and acetone clean up brush.
So this little pink bottle to the rescue, and tons of cuticle oils, creams, and hand cream.
Now my nails are almost back to normal save the damage from buffing out the peeling areas and the parts that need to grow out.
If I continue to get good results with this, I might actually buy it again.
UPDATE 7/4/2010:
Okay, I really like this stuff, but only as a base coat. This is really great stuff, and my nails haven't looked this good in a long time. I've been using it under my Nailtek Foundation II, and it acts as an extra barrier to prevent staining and also to keep in the moisture as Foundation II is drying. This combination gives me a perfect base to apply my colour over. I'd almost call it my nail "primer", as both products do just that for my nails.
I really hope in the future Sally Hansen doesn't pull another silly move like discontinuing this like they did Nail Quencher base coat. For those of you that cried and tried to hoard as many bottles of Nail Quencher as you could find, I think this would be a perfect replacement.
For sure a repurchase, but I think my bottle will last a long time as I only need one coat per nail.

This stuff literally RUINED my nails!! The only reason I started using this was because I ran out of my beloved Barielle Instant Liquid Nail Hardener (which I highly recommend BTW) and was having trouble tracking it down. I used this SH stuff in the meantime. HUGE HUGE mistake! Almost immediately my gorgeous nails started peeling in layers!! Something they have NEVER done before (or since)!! Considering nothing else in my life, diet, etc. had changed, it HAD to have been this SH *crap*!! Fortunately I was able to find my Barielle products again and as soon as I started using it the peeling gradually stopped and I'm back to a gorgeous 10, but it took SEVERAL MONTHS for all the damage/peeling to grow out. The SH got a swift kick into the garbage!

I bought this wonderful stuff because it claimed to be a 4-1 product, including 1) a ridge-filling base coat, 2) strengthener, 3) growth treatment, and 4) glossy top coat, all for dry, brittle nails. My nails and cuticles get pretty dry, especially in wintertime, so the addition of nourishing ingredients like avocado oil and natural plant extracts plus the absence of drying solvents like toulene and formaldehyde sounded pretty good. Plus it came with a "free gift" bottle of vitamin E nail & cuticle oil, making the steep $12.99 price tag for a drugstore polish a bit more justifiable. Ingredients aside, my manicure has lasted for an entire week, through daily workouts and such glamorous activities as pot-scrubbing. It takes a normal amount of time to dry fully but I think it's well worth it. All I can say is I'm loving this stuff...especially after using Seche Vite fast-drying top coat for so long and getting no more than 2 days out of my manicure before my nails were a peeling mess. With or without the free gift, I'd definitely buy this again.
