I purchased a 9-oz. squeeze tube of the Smooth 'n Shine Polishing Shine Conditioning gel and have tried it out several times now. My hair is curly/wavy (2c/3a) and fine, so this gel, no matter how little I used, wound up making my hair feel oily. I tried combining a smidgen of this gel with other gels (one that I normally like on its own) and still oiliness presented an issue. The gel's consistency weighed my already-limp hair down a bit, and the hold was so loose and non-crunchy that hairs couldn't be kept in place. Tried this with another gel before pulling hair back in a ponytail, and again, no hold, no control of small flyaways, and my hair felt greasy.
Basically, if I am ever to use this gel again I must use it incredibly sparingly and nowhere near my scalp (naturally I oil up enough there). This product just doesn't do what I personally want a gel to do, nor does it combine well with other products I own. So, I'm offering it up for swap to anyone it may suit better.

Cheap, reliable and leaves shome sheen to the hair. Good for hairline!

This is great product.
Dirt cheap and works wonderfully!
I also use this brands curl activator gel. I do not have curly hair, but I wear my hair pulled back frequently and this is an alcohol free gel product that allows me to get that smoothed back look- with out being crunchy looking like other gels.
I use the curl activator gel first and pull my hair back with a boar bristle brush and secure it, then put a bit of the shine gel in my palm, rub my hands together and smooth it over my hair. I love the result.
I wish this product came in a bottle instead of a tub, but otherwise- it is HG for me.
