I don't remember why I bought this. Anyway, I started using it on my face, and didn't really like how it left me with a sticky feeling on my face, and it didn't go well with my makeup. Why I give this a 4? It didn't seem to break my sensitive skin out, it smells nice, it seems to moisturise dry skin pretty well.
My main use of this is to PREVENT discolouration that can appear if I for some reason decide to pick on something on my face (awful, I know). The thing is: it's difficult to get rid of discolouration that is already there - it takes time and sometimes even requires bleaching products. It's much simpler to just prevent discolouration. I do it with this cream: it prevents the damaged cells to overproduce melanin (which is the excess pigment causing dark scars). I just put this on as fast as possible.
OK all in all, but I don't think I would repurchase... I don't know.

I have been using this moisturizer for the past six months, I use it nearly everyday. I like that it's a lightweight gel that sinks into my skin immediately. I haven't had any breakouts from this. Right now, my skin is a little dry because of the winter, so it really helps with that as well. The only thing I think MAC could improve on with this product is the packaging, sometimes I find it a little unsanitary to stick my hands into the jar. Perhaps a squeeze tube would be better but I can overlook this one minor factor because I love this stuff.

Nice basic oil-free gel-creme moisturizer, but after about 3 months of use no lightening/brightening difference whatsoever. Would be much improved if it included a SPF, as not everyone (myself included) uses a foundation with SPF. I'll use up my jar but not repurchase.

I really enjoy this moisturiser! I have oily t-zone but the other part of my skin is normal, so it has always not been easy for me to find a moisturiser that I like. This one doesn't only smell lovely, the texture is light and my skin absorbs it very quickly yet I can actually feel the moisture is kept in my skin. It gets me through the humid summer in Hong Kong, as well as the dry Italian summer. What else can I say? I love it!
Age: 19-24 Skin: Very Oily, Fair, Neutral Hair: Black, Straight, Fine Eyes: Brown
very light moisturizer which is perfect for people with oily skin! i find it to be sticky at times but it absorbs very quickly. it has a light pleasant smell to it as well. i find the jar a little annoying sometimes especially because i have to dip my finger in there. it would have been a perfect summer moisturizer if it had some SPF in it but i guess you could always get a foundation with SPF to balance that out.

I love this moisturizer! Since this product is a gel texture, a little can be easily spread throughout the entire face. It really sinks into my skin in the matter of seconds and makes my skin really soft. I really like the light scent. And because of this texture, it has really helped with my T-zone area; it's not really oily anymore. I think it would be great as a makeup primer and as a night cream. You can also use this as a day cream, but just put another lotion on top for sunscreen. Although it is not cheap, a little jar of this goes a long way. As for the 'luminosity' that they claim to give, I do not really see a difference since I only used this for two to three weeks. And I also use other products to brighten and lighten my skin tone so even if it did I might not think that it's this moisturizer that is doing the job. Great product and definitely worth the price.

I've been using this moisturizer for about a month (day & night) and i must say...i reeeeaaallly like it :) First off..the packaging is really cute. Metallic box and container with a white lid. Wish it came with a scooper so i don't have to dip my fingers in.
The scent is very nice also. I guess you could say floral. I love the texture. It's between a gel and cream in consistency yet leaning more toward a gel. It spreads really smoothly and easily, so there will be no tugging at your skin. It sinks in fast and doesn't leave your face or hands feeling sticky. So far so good. I can tell that it has brightened up my skin over the past month which is cool. The texture of my skin is also really nice. Looks luminous even with lack of sleep. Haven't broken out nor gotten clogged pores since using it which is also a plus. As for moisturizing...on a scale from 1-10 with 10 being the most moisturizing i would rate this a solid 6. Makes an awsome moisturizer for the spring and summer but i doubt i could get away with just using this in the winter. If your looking for something to add some "comfortable" moisture i would consider this. I think im gonna try the Chanel Hydramax Gel Cream and see how it compares since im a product junkie hehehe but i do really love this moisturizer :).
UPDATE: So i had to remove two lippies because this does actually clog pores a bit. It started to make my forhead and the areas on the sides of my chin less smooth.

This is a great moisturizer, great gel consistency and soothing. First time i used this, i thought this was kind of stinky, but it sunk in and left my rough skin feeling smooth and soft. It lightened my dark acne spots and the slight darkness around my mouth. It has also brightened my complexion and now i have that pretty, dewy skin i've thought i'd never have. oh, and this all in one night by the way! I'll have to come back and update on my thoughts later and how long it lasts because the price is killing me. but if it lasts 4-5 months or longer i'll definitely be repurchasing!
i returned this! this helped me bring my skin back to perfectly clear after getting a bit of acne (downside of being a teen) but it stung! that's basically all i can say about it but who would want a moisturizer that stings?

I bought this because I have dry skin with some flakiness. I've tried alot of moisturizers--La Mer, Boscia, By Terry. I'm still searching for my HG moisturizer. While this cream is not HG worthy, I like how quickly sinks into the skin. It leaves my skin feeling very soft to the touch. It doesn't hydrate my skin enough when I am very dry. It is $38 retail, but I bought it for $29 at CCO.

Love this super light, super moisturizing lotion. It smells divine and works miracles on my very dry, very sensitive skin. I am a swimmer and in the pool at least 8 times a week, therefore my face is super dry and tight, with occasional days where it decides to 'fall off' entirely. Also, since my skin loves me oh-so-much, it is prone to acne. Enter this perfect product. I will definitely buy again, I've never used anything like it. The packaging is beautiful, but not as practical as i would like. I don't like to dip fingers into things.

I am in serious love after having randomly asked for a sample of this when I was last at Mac buying brushes. I would hav enever thought to try MAc skincare as I have spent thousands over the years trying to find a great moisturizer that really hyudrates and balanced my normal but super clog prone skin, yet never breaks me out or feels to heavy or greasy. I always jsut assumed mac skincare, aside from my beloved Cleanse Off Oil ofcourse, was bs and not quality ingredients but wow was I wrong. This moisturizer is full of such quality ingredients and litreally sinks into your skin like water yet somehw feeling so moisturizing and hydrating at teh same time, so hard to explain and belive honestly after going through so many moisturizers in my life, espeically one that cost way more. Yet this is a little pricey but the tiniest amount goes such a long way. When I first sampled at the store and trie dit on my hand I didn't understand how this was called ulta deep moisture because it felt so water based and gel like comparable to other gel creams like CLinique and Shu Uemura I have tried which yes sink right in but you are felt feeling like you need 3 more layers to truly feel moisturized, adn I don't even have dry skin lol. Anyhow this moisturizer is on a level all it's own and so glad I decided to give MAC a shot when nothing else has worked so well for me ever. Estee Lauder owns mac now and even they don't have comparable quality to the lightful line. I also use the Cleansing Creme now and paried with this moisturizer my skin is flawless and in heaven on top of the intoxicating fresh spa like smell I can't get enough of. If all that isn't enough this supposedly has lightening preperties which would be great for those random annoying psot blemish marks. Whether or not that aspect works I don't mind as I already love this product to begin with. These 2 are now lifelong products for me, leave it to MAC as if I don't spend enough on their amazing brushes and makeup lol. Perfection and hope they never discontinue this lightful line as this and the lightful cleanser are amazing and better quality than products I've spent 3x as much on! :)

This is probably the best moisturizer i have ever used. I have extremely dry skin to the point of flaking and this has been a life saver. I have gone through two of them. It is pretty expensive, but it is worth it since it does work for me. The packaging is really sleek too, and unlike other moisturizers this does not just sit on your face, it actually absorbs in your skin within minutes which is great to use before foundation.
I would repurchase again for sure

An artist at the MAC pro store recommended this to me for my dry skin. I originally bought it to use as a night cream because I was pretty happy with my existing moisturizer.
I haven't stopped using it since the first night I tried it. I am in love with this product! My old daily moisturizer is just collecting dust in my medicine cabinet.

I really like this moisturizer. I'm also a sucker for packaging and the jar is a gorgeous metallic seafoam green with a white lid. So pretty. Anyway, I use this moisturizer at night and in the morning and I really like that it hydrates without feeling like I've dipped my face in a bucket of grease. I apply it and it sinks in with minimal shine. It is really more of a gel consistency and feels very light. I will definitely buy again and am thinking of getting a jar for my mom as a Christmas gift.

I bought this product after trying it several times at the Mac counter. I really like it both seals in moisture while priming my skin before makeup application. I have also noticed that my face has lightened up almost a whole shade, though I have stayed out of the sun recently as well, so I wouldn't say it is completly because of lightful. I use this cream with both the lotion and the essence in the morning and Shu's phytoblack lotion/essence and a Kose moisture cream at night for more moisture. And for the first time in a long, I'm really happy my skin.

Bought this in Japan for about 3000-4000 yen ($30-40 CAN/US)
Packaging: in a pot. I put it in my luggage when I was going to Taiwan (about a 4 hour flight) and the silver paint/coating of the pot peeled. A little got into the cream. No big deal, but bits of paint/coating in your moisturiser isn't the best thing.
Moisturiser: Average, if not worse. It glides on smoothly and feels nice. Barely any scent. Sinks into your skin and practically disappears. I need to put a second layer, which is a waste. For the cost, I shouldn't have to do two layers everytime. For those with dry skin, be careful of what you're getting into. Oh, and my skin is on the oily side
Overall, an ok product. I wouldn't get it again because of the price
Age: 19-24 Skin: Acne-prone, Medium Hair: Brown Eyes: Brown
i have acne prone skin but my skin is totally dehydrated on the surface so anything matte is usually not hydrating enough but cream is too oily and my friend recommended this and im darn glad that she did!!
The smell is wonderful and the texture is very light yet it's very hydrating and it acts like a great primer before foundation and seriously,i can just carry away without prep+prime before foud

My boyfriend uses it, my mom uses it, and now I've converted to using this too.
I was searching for a good cream for my boyfriend's skin. He has terrible dry skin (to a point where it flakes). I bought him this and told him to use it. His skin seriously improved A LOT. He's been using it for a good month now. I got my mom one too and now I bought another one for myself lolz. I put this one on before I sleep :)
These cream sell out fast at my location. And it's a good reason why they do.

Good moisturizer for combo/oily skin. Feels very light and absorbs into skin quickly. Nice clean fragrance. Product is made in Japan. I've been using it for about one month now (once a day at night) and have had no breakouts or skin reactions. I noticed some lightening of spots but it did not completely eliminate them. Brightened my skin somewhat. But otherwise, excellent light moisturizer.
Update 4/2010: I've used the entire jar and now about a quarter into my second one. Still NO breakouts and have had a noticeable lightening on most of my spots! I believe it's been very effective since I've been using once daily at night. Awesome product. Highly recommend it!
