I have very oily skin, and this product does not help with control oil at all!! it makes my face super oily. my face will shin after not even an hour! I guess it depends on the skin type. it even out my skin tone, and my pores seems smaller. my skin looks more health. (that's good) but it gives me bad black head. the pores around my nose are always clotted. I am not sure it help my acne or not. I does not help with acne.

Light, emollient, moisturizing. Not bad but not great. Lightly scented, a little watery but dries down ok.

When I first started using this moisturizer, it seemed to be perfect for my combination skin. It was so lightweight yet so hydrating. Yet as I continued to use it, my skin became dehydrated and irritated. I don't know if the alcohol or essential oils or both is to blame, but this product obviously isn't right for my sensitive skin.
Ingredients: Rose flower distillate, alcohol, beeswax, jojoba seed oil, grape seed oil, sunflower oil, rice bran oil, cetearyl alcohol, soybean oil, arabic gum, lavender oil, chamomile flower oil, borage seed oil, hazelnut seed oil, rose flower oil, willow bark extract, glycerin, lecithin, shea seed butter, xanthan gum, tocopherols mixed, calendula flower extract, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) extract, moth bean extract, citric acid, aloe barbadensis leaf, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) extract & squalene, echinacea extract, lavender flower extract, fragrance, linalool, geraniol, citral.

This is one of my staple. I used it together with Origins Make a Difference treatment gel. While this by itself is not moisturizing enough, origins is too oily to used in the day. So when used together it seems to work just right for me.
The glass bottle is not convenient for traveling. Unless you get the travel set.

I tried this out in the travel size and just got my regular size one. Use this on my rosacea areas - basically t-zone. My skin tends toward dry, but this does not dry my skin at all. I do however use a light sunscreen over top of everything (devita solar face). When I first switched from Intensive Nourishing Cream to this, I found the rosacea areas to be much smoother. I'll update as I get further in the bottle, but it does seem to be reducing the various bumps I usually have on and near the rosacea.

This is a great moisturizer in the summer for my combination-acne prone skin. It is extremely light weight and it is readily absorbed by the skin. It smells absolutely amazing. Paired with the Suki Targeted Bio-Brightening Face Serum, I immediately noticed the hyperpigmentation in my skin (from acne) lightening. My skin looks fresh, bright and smooth. I really like this product.

This lotion works great on my skin, but only during summer. It is not super hydrating, but it sinks in right away and doesn't cause any breakouts, which is really important for me, because almost everything does. It hasn't caused me any irritation and kept my skin soft and healthy.

A wonderful light moisturiser for humid weather. It absorbs into the skin very quickly and forms a good base for makeup. The scent is also pleasant and not overpowering.

I've only used 1 bottle so far, so I'll leave the HG declarations until a few more uses. But I will say that this is a very, very good moisturiser for my skin in the summer; I have not found anything that can beat it yet. I love it so much that I don't dare use it continually for fear of my skin getting 'immune' to it, so I've been swopping out for Dr Hauschka and Origins before going back at some point (soon!).
As a lotion, I find it more moisturising than gel/water-based moisturisers but not sticky or clogging like some heavier lotions out there. I have very fussy, combi skin that is prone to congestion (read: blackheads) so I really appreciate products that don't cause me more grief than necessary when I'm at the beautician's.
I use this in combination with Suki's balancing toner and it works wonderfully as a duo. I also like the compact size of the bottle, together with a cap, because I travel a lot and the lack of a cap on Dr Hauschka spray bottles really annoys me. I only wish it were cheaper!

I really loved this day lotion and was considering it HG. When she changed the packaging. No big deal right. The new bottle looked bigger and I was pleased because these products are on the pricey side. Then I noticed there was only 1 ounce in the new bottle. Huh what gives? My husband figured it out. We looked at the bottom of the bottle and the glass was much thicker then before. The packaging was deceptive. Suki makes such a big deal about how she cares about the environment, so why use more glass to make the bottle thicker? Because a thicker bottle makes it look like there is more product then there actually is. Then you spend the same price and get half as much. Suki does not care about the environment or her customers as much as she cares about lining her own pockets. If you don't believe me look at the bottom of your bottle. If you still have an old bottle when it was "velvet face creme" take a look. You will be shocked. I really like the product which I why I still gave it 3 lippies. but I am so upset by this hipocritical, unethical behavior. I'm not sure if will buy it again.

I can't believe I like products and was reminded of how great it is. I really like suki products, but I have to say this is HG status for me, which isn't an easy feat. It's very light and feels great after I put it on. Never filmy or sticky. It's easy to apply, so light and smooth. One thing I noticed is it has helped my skin with it's ingredients. Specifically the mild salcylic acid/willowbark. Although there are others with those ingredients, there's something about the combo in Suki's that work beautifully. I ran out of my travel size and noticed immediately my skin was turning a bit rough so I bought the full size. Even though it's a bit pricy, it's not bad in comparisson to quality moisturizers that is natural with no synthetic chemicals and the glass bottle keeps it fresh longer. It's so worth giving this a try, even if it's the smaller travel size to try out. Just give it 2-3 weeks.
Suki really puts personal care in her products and in other endeavors for the environment and animals as well...so there's an added bonus to an already wonderful product.

Let me just say that this is one of my absolute favourites when it comes to my daily skin-care routine!!! I LOVE IT! I am actually looking forward to putting it on my face in the morning. It smells divine, it is light, the packaging is great, it is moisturizing, it is 100% natural and absolutely not greasy. Fantastic product!

I use the Balancing Day Lotion in conjunction with the Concentrated Balancing Toner. Both are amazing products. The lotion is the perfect consistency - very light-weight, non-oily - and absorbs quickly into the skin. I think its perfect for the summer months, but even my very oily skin tends to get dry patches during the winter, so I will have to see how well it works out once the air gets drier... I happen to like the glass packaging, as it is more environmentally friendly, and the pump deposits the perfect amount of product to cover the face. I have been using for about 4 weeks now and the still have 2/3 of the bottle left. So, its pricey but it does last a long time. My skin looks amazing and I love that its all-natural.

I prefer the balancing oil over this, but this would be good to use when extra moisture is needed. The scent is incredible. I hate perfumes, but if they'd make a body lotion with scent, I would bathe in it. Sometimes I get a whiff of this and think I just inhaled pure oxygen. Hard to explain, but it is just great. For it's effects, though I probably wouldn't repurchase. Suki has an intensive brightening cream, but with 10% vitamin C and a thicker consistency (no great fragrance though)>

Suki products are simply outstanding! Due to my oily/acne skin I started from their exfoliating cleanser, balancing toner, and this balancing day lotion. I couldn't love it more! It's very light weight yet moisturizes well at a hot summer time in Los Angeles. It's not greasy at all and with a dime size in the morning my face is well covered and balanced. I noticed my face is less oily throughout the day compared to other day time moisturizer. Not to mention its herbal/citrus scent that lingers throughout the day that is pleasantly soothing.
I wish it comes with SPF and it'll be perfect! For all of you having oily skin I highly recommend this day balancing lotion from Suki!

Good day lotions are hard to find. Either greasy, heavy or sticky, moisturizers should avoid certain descriptions. Successfully avoiding the negative list is Suki Balancing Day Lotion. Suki’s weightless formula is extremely nourishing and soothing, evening skin tone and offering a healthy glow. White Willow Bark Extract acts as an anti-inflammatory to calm skin. Ingredients of Organic Comfrey Extract and Organic Rose Extract heal and provide antioxidants. The lotion proves true to its name, skin feels balanced and results show quickly. Test this lotion before purchasing if particularly sensitive to smells. It has a strong scent, which is hard to place.

I've been using this for a month now on my combination skin. I switched to Suki to decrease the amount of parabens I've been exposed to because I've had terrible eczema and my naturopath suggested finding a paraben free moisturizer. It smells fresh and botanical (!) which I like. Because it is so light, it would be best used in the summer. I'm looking forward to using it in the humid Houston summertime to see how it goes because other 'Oily' moisturizers haven't worked for me yet. It's readily absorbed and leaves no shine. it's texture is similar to Sothys for Oily skin - very light - but I stopped using that one because of parabens and I didn't like the 'plasticky' smell of the Sothys. I suspect for winter and/or nighttime use I should add a little jojoba as recommended on the packaging for extra moisture oomph. As for the packaging, it's a glass bottle pump which is great for getting every bit out, it's clean, and the b+w and yellow label looks modern in my bathroom. It may be a little heavy for travel but I prefer the glass over plastic, it seems more of a quality product and eliminates chemical leaching from the container. I'm using the shiitake Nourishing Toner instead of the balancing toner with this product because of my age, and because of my skin being sensitive, and the the product pairing isn't as harsh. I tried the Intensive Brightening cream but it felt too rich and heavy so perhaps I'll keep that for dry spots over winter.

I bought this because I wanted a natural day time moisturizer for my combo/sensitive/ acne-prone skin. Since my skin definetly needs balancing, this seemed like a good match. However, I think this is probably a good moisturizer for only extremely oily skin. I found that my skin dried out within half an hour of using this stuff and felt really uncomfortably tight for the rest of the day. I have used it several times since then, and I've always had the same effect. At first it adsorbed quickly, so I thought it was great for using under makeup, but now I realize it just doesn't moisturize at all. It just disappears without giving any kind of benefits to my skin that would justify it's almost $32 price tag. I'm now going to add a bunch of jojoba oil to it before applying to my face and finish this bottle off that way.
