I was very attracted by the color, as Revlon seldom brings in such colors in my country. This costs like US$10 , hence I was very hesitant to try it out. Hence when I spotted a never before BOGO free promotion, I grabbed this with brown. I used to own a purple e/l from Maybelline, that appeared as a very natural looking grey purple on my eyes. I was half expecting that effect, but Revlon was not what I expected. It still retains it's distinct sharp purple color which i find is somehow not very flattering on my eyes. It is not exactly a clean looking purple colour. But quality wise, this is a fastastic eyeliner. Matte, creamy, lasts the whole day, does not smudge, distinct sharp color , not too soft or too hard...what more can I ask for. But wished it was a twist version so that there will be less wastage.

I quite like this - I adore the Sueded Brown metallic bronze shade but the black and dark blue ones were way smudgy and sucked bad but this one is OK.
The shade is quite eye-catching - at first I thought it would be too light for eyeliner but it applies really nicely, can be smudged out if desired (though I dislike the new angled smudging tip on this and much prefer the old "bullet" style ones), lasts all day without fading or creeping and offers a pretty "pop" of colour that makes my dark brown eyes look lovely.
I have about 20 different purple eyeliners but this one is definitely one that stands out - I doubt I'll run out but if I do I would definitely buy this one again.

I really love the color of this eyeliner, a bright creamy lavender. I frequently wear this liner on my water line and it provides a very pleasant burst of color. I too dont understand the smudger, and never use it. All in all, it's pretty good.

Very violet isn't violet--it's a soft bluish lavender that looks good on my dark brown eyes. It's not too dark so it doesn't emphasize my dark circles, but has enough color to show up. Very easy to apply, to build up darker and smudge. One lippie off for the price--too expensive for what it is.

As far far as longevity, this eyeliner serves its function. Even though it is supposedly kohl, it doesn't smudge at all like most kohls. The color is truly representative of the color swatch shown on the packing, however, I think this color is ultimately too light for definition. An additional black liquid liner on top of this is needed. This is a great pencil to grab if you want to add some color, but for definition it just simply doesn't deliver.

Amazing eyeliner!! It's the most wearable vibrant violet I've ever used- in intense bluey violet that can pop for night, but be smudged for subtle effect by day. It's different than most purples, that seem to have red undertones. Highly recommend for hazel eyes!

I love this liner! It just makes my green eyes pop! And goes with so many eye shadows! Or can just be worn alone! The texture is lovely, glides on and is bendable, but has real staying power. This color would look good with any skin tone or eye color. Highly recommend.

"Very Violet" is a clean and vibrant purple, and it doesn't fade. I like it because it brings out the green in my eyes and makes them look brighter. Better than Clarins purple eyeliner, which gives me red rabbit eyes and looks dull. I've found all the Revlon matte pencils to be soft and smooth and the colors all look rich and creamy. Staying power is good, smudges less than most.
Only two things annoy me about these matte luxiurious color pencils and thats the packaging:
1. the doe foot smudger is large and flat. What a wierd shape, I never use it
2. The stingy amount in this teeny pencil. It is thinner and has got less product (1.0g) than any of my other pencils, EVEN SMALLER THAN MY GYP SIZE PENCILS!! Because the doe foot part makes up nearly an inch (2cm) it sneakily looks like you're getting more but youre not. Shame on you revlon for giving us a stupid "free" smudger and taking away so much product in return. Look these size comparisons:
SIZE COMPARISONS:
Revlon Matte luxurious color kohl eyeliner - 1.0g
Elizabeth Arden GYP (promo gift size) eye pencil - 1.1g
ModelCo GYP (promo gift size) eyeliner - 1.2g
ModelCo eye pencil - 1.6g
Clarins eye pencil (has a smudger on the end) - 1.2g
Living Nature eye pencil (natural brand) - 1.13g
Lancome 1.8g
As you can see, even FREE giveaway promo pencils are bigger than the puny revlon pencil! Its a wonderful pencil without a doubt, but it only lasted me a month before I ran out. I would like Revlon to put a bit more product back into the pencil - make it longer - take away the stupid smudger. Then I make the Revlon matte pencils my regular everyday eyeliners and continue to re-purchase.

If they stop making this color or the matte collection of eyeliners I'm going to be very upset! This is my favorite purple eyeliner. It is the perfect shade of purple to bring out my blue/green eyes. I've tried so many others, including Urban Decay's "ransom" and it didn't compare to this cheaper Revlon pencil. The texture of this liner is nice as well. It goes on smoothly, works well on the waterline, and has decent staying power. It doesn't last as long as a UD 24/7 liner but I prefer the color over any other of it's kind. Usually a purple liner is too dark to really bring out my eyes but this one is the perfect shade. I've got to stock up in case they get discontinued!

I must be allergic to the purple pigment in purple eyeliners because this is the THIRD purple eyeliner (I've used Almay, Revlon, Mary Kay) that has irritated my eyes to the point where they look infected. No other eyeliner but purple does this to my eyes... Anyway, it's a great color, but I don't like having to sharpen--I like self-sharpening. Because of this and the irritation factor, I won't repurchase.

My HG purple liner! I'm addicted to this! I've tried tons of purple liners since I feel the color brings out the green in my eyes and none have come close to this one. It is such a pretty color! Def a bit more bluish like other reviewers noted but a deep intensity pigment that lasts pretty well. A lot of other liners I've tried looked great at first sight but were so sheer that I barely noticed them on my eyes. Not this one! It totally stands out and I don't even have to wear black liner over it like I used to do with other purple liners to get them to stand out more. It is bright but if you put it on over a light champagne color and then layer a light purple or grey over it, it mutes it just a bit so it's totally wearable during the day. I def recommend to try this one if you have hazel, green, or brown eyes! Blue eyes might look good in this but it could be a bit intense for daytime. It is pricey tho for drugstore brands but I got it at walmart for 7 bucks and this one's worth it!

Bought this on sale for 7$ at Walgreens.
I'm impressed~!
This eye pencil glides on so SMOOTH and soft and its easy to smudge to create the smoky look. This pencil comes with a smudger.
I have to say that color is not the typical purple liner color since it's like a "royal purple" (kinda blue-ish). Anyhow, I'm satisfied with the color. Makes my eyes pop! So beautiful, if you wear this during spring/summer it would be perfect. Can't wait haha.
OVERALL: great matte eyeliner with easy application, but expensive for a drugstore brand liner. Great payoff though.
Would BUY again only if it's on sale!

I have truly searched high and low for an eyeliner in this shade that actually showed up when applied. I took a chance on this one because it was in the Revlon line up, and their other products have typically left me happy. This was no exception. ♥
From the moment I put it on I was impressed. It glides on so smoothly, and the color payoff was impressive: It's very highly pigmented. It is a bluish purple, very vibrant and it definitely makes an impact but it is not over the top. It just adds a punch of color, and that is exactly what I was hoping for...finally.. color from an eye pencil ♥ It's almost the color of a purple spring pansy. For reference I use it on my waterline which is always my test of how well an eyeliner will perform. I always say if it can last there, it can last anywhere LOL:)
I would definitely recommend this and will now try the other colors in this line. ♥ If they are anything like this one they will all be winners for their creamy smooth application and high color payoff:)

Love this eyeliner. Glides on just as smoothly as my UD 24/7 liners and has the staying power too! It comes with its own smudger but i prefer to smudge with my finger (smudger is a little to stiff for my taste). Love it and can't wait to try the Midnight Blue!

This is so pretty. It's a violet with a blue undertone. It's very vibrant and the matte eyeliner application is very creamy as well. I would use this more often in the springtime.

This is a lovely muted violet eyeliner. It goes on smoothly and is easy to blend. I think it's overpriced at $9.99 though. If it wasn't BOGOF time, I would have passed on it. WnW has a more vibrant purple for 99 cents, and it's twice as long! I will continue to use this though, but I won't pay ten bucks for another one.

Very pretty purple! It's buttery soft and easy to smudge. It comes with its own spongy smudger. The color looks deep enough to draw a dark line if you apply it firmly. Staying power is great. I like to add a tiny bit of black eyeliner to add more definition to my eyes. Overall, it was a good purchase. It's a color that bring out the white of the eyes. Highly recommended.
