I adore this colour.
I was hesitant to try it at first as I had heard average things about it but I am glad I did, it is so beautiful!
I find myself reaching for this a lot, I can't get past the colour!
Definitely would recommend this colour.

I like Flip as an everyday neutral eyelid colour. The colour is a light yellow slightly orange gold colour on me and works well with many neutrals in my collection. The shade definitely compliments my fair complexion, green eyes, and red hair.

My MAC collection is always expanding. A friend of mine had bought this shadow and didn't like it, so I figured it's MAC, I'll try it. She gave it to me and I LOVE it. I would definitely buy it again. I love the gold tones it has with my skin tone. It's another amazing MAC shadow.

I absolutely love this colour. It's a nice warm gold without being too yellowy. My only disappointment is that it doesn't show up too well on me, which is odd for Mac shadows since they generally have the best pigmentation. But then again, maybe its because Flip is very similar to my colouring and the pigmentation has nothing to do with it. Regardless it's an excellent shadow. Such a shame it was limited edition!

This is the ulitmate shadow if you have nice brown eyes....it a good wash for the entire eye and it the light reflectors just pick up the sparkle and hue of the brown in the eye. It makes me look like I when to St. Tropez....Very pretty gold. The only thing I am not to wild about is that it was part of the Blond, Brunette and Redhead collection, that its now discontinued! :-( ! Oh well thank God for Ebay! Who cares about the price..its worth it!

I bought this in a lot from ebay and, per item, it worked out to about $1.80 Canadian so I wasn't expecting a lot from this one but I have tan skin with yellow undertones naturally and tan even deeper like crazy so, as a lid colour, it was nice and bright and noticeable on my eye, especially when used with a mixing medium or fix+. Truely a staple in my opinion because it's so neutral that it would look good with anything as a lid colour and is shimmery enough (but oddly, like eveyone else has said, not frosty but lustre-y) to be a highlight. In the lot I also got 100 strokes and it looks amazing with it on the outter v and liquid eyeliner. Good for everyday and long lasting so it can go from the office or school to a night out with the right shadows in your palette!
If you can find it for cheap like I did, it's a good one to have if you're starting out your collection but you can find dupes everywhere if you look in drugstores.

I liked flip. I usually wear it as an all over lid colour and then put a darker colour in the crease. Im not a huge follower of MAC collections so i hadnt realised that they say ure to wear this with 100 strokes in the outer V? Welp I just got that one too so i shall see how it goes....

Flip is a nice soft neutral every day shadow that shows a muted yellowy/soft gold. This color is subtle and doesn't shout. A part of the trio of Redhead shadows. Lovely with the suggested other two shadow colors (100 Strokes/brownish and French Cuff/pinkish). Flip is suggested to be applied on lid with French cuff in the crease and 100 strokes on the outer v. I like to use it with a bit of MAC Fix++ in it to give it a stronger saturation of color on the lid. It does look flattering with red hair and is very wearable this way. The consistency is smooth and goes on easily. Does work better wet, however. All in all this color is nice, I find I only use it with the Redhead combo so I'm giving it 3 stars for this reason.

Not the worst, but not the best. Unless you really love to buy from collections you can easily find a dupe, or even a better shade int he general collection. It's pretty but not pretty enough to run out and get!

I actually like this color! It's a soft gold that you can wear as a wash for a daytime look, i like to pair it with cork in the crease. This is going to be my new favourite everyday look :-) Dont have any problems with payoff or texture...

msdi2u described my thoughts and feelings to the T.
I am wearing Flip (as a wash) for the first time today along with 100 Strokes on the outter V and lined with Prunella. I am so, so, so unhappy with the texture, payoff, and laydown of this shadow! I would bet my eyelids that this darned shadow is a Lustre finish (which I loathe for the most part) and not a Frost finish. I am going to keep this and use it only on the tearduct/very inner V area only. I would never, ever repurchase this in my lifetime. Hell, I would go as far to say that I wouldn't take it for free.
Hated it!!!!

Gourgous gold eyeshadow. I get compliments when I wear it; really pretty. I like using it with the Henna eye shadow from the Brunette collection.

I was looking for a gold eyeshadow. I already have Retrospeck and Bright Side/Gallery Gal (MES). Both of these I found too light. Woodwinked I found too orangey. Flip seems a good compromise between the ones I've already tried. It is a bright gold, without orangey/red tones. It also has a buttery texture that is easy to work with, so I'm very happy with it.

I'm not the most adventurous of people, but this colour is pretty dull, generic, and a bit of a dissapointment.
The MAC website describes it as a "bronze gold." Sure, I see the gold, but it's so faint. It goes on like a Lustre more so than a Frost, in my opinion, and while it looked nice as a base with Amber Lights on the outer V and Melon pigment in the crease, it's a bit of a snoozefest. I wasn't looking for an everyday shade, but as a wash, by itself, that's what Flip is. A bit of golden-toned shimmer for everyday. I'm sure this would look really nice with some liner and curled lashes behind my glasses. But if you're looking for something dramatic, for a Sparkly Evening event or whatever, this shade definately isn't it. It is really, really subtle. As a brow highlight depending on skintone for that Sparkly Evening event? Yes. But I wouldn't be jumping for joy if I needed an awesome, interesting shade, for a low-maintenance look and I was low on time. This has potential to look amazing with complementary colours, and given how basic the shade really is, it'll probably go with anything and everything.
That said, this isn't that exciting. I'm sure you could find a similar shade in any brand - department store or drugstore. But nothing spectacular.
For reference, I'm an N3, pink undertones.

Flip is a yellow-gold frost eyeshadow from the '09 BBR Collection. The MAC website describes this as a 'bronze gold', but I don't really see the bronze. I don't really see the 'frost' either, especially not on my lids. I'd say it's a Lustre! Oh, sure... it looks mighty frosty in the pot... but on my lids? Nothin'- just like one of MAC's darn Lustres! I get minimal color payoff with a smattering of gold microglitter. It doesn't look frosty, shimmery, or sparkly on me, it looks more matte than anything. Hmmnnnn... I'm thinkin' this could be like a MAC Velvet formula shadow, too? Well, whatever formula it is, it will probably serve best only as a brow highlight- depending on your skin tone. Personally, I am disappointed and unimpressed. :oP
Oh, P.S: I am MAC NW20, LM Beige Ivory
