I would describe this shade as a frosty pale pinkish gold/beige. Side by side "What a Do" is similiar to "Sequin", however Sequin is a little darker, therefore for me "Sequin" does not require the use of a lipglass to tone down the metallic beige frosty effect of "What a do". I am an NW45 and with "What a Do", I always have to pair it with a lipglass (quicktease, pop mode, flusterose) and/or lip pencil (current, vino, nightmoth). This shade is discontinued, if you want something similiar but not overly metallically, i suggest "Sequin". If this shade was not discontinued, I would not buy again simply because it takes so much effort to tone down the overpowering metallic effect.

I'm NC43-44 and on me this lipstick is just a shade darker than my relatively pigmented lips. I LOVE the way it makes my lips look. The frost finish gives this 3D sheen to my lips, and together with this barely-there shade, my lips look uber plumped and sexy! It looks even sexier with gloss! Perfect for a night-time look. It could be worn during the daytime without any hassle, but I'm not a heavy-makeup wearer during the day.

EDIT: Just tried it with Spice l/l. Wow. I think I may have found my HG.. :D

I would repurchase but its gone! it was limited edition.I like it because its a frost its the only frost I have and it looks like it gives my lips a glow of color alone with frost. My lips are very pigmented so it really shows the coral in it.I will try it with a lipgloss like another reviewer suggested.

My first review! I love love love this lipstick. I'm also a fan of Gel, and to me this was like a darker version of Gel, and a little more wearable. I hope I can find another tube before it's gone forever!

On me, this is a super frosty brownish-bronzy lipstick with a tiny hint of pink & gold. I don’t pull copper like some of the other reviewers. It looks very similar to Soft Wave gloss to me.

I think this is a great shade for summer and really like it topped off with Soft Wave. I think it would look even more amazing if I was tan.

I have to make sure I pair it well with my other makeup; otherwise it can be an overwhelming look on me. I like wearing it with a neutral eye and a really light dusting of blush for the daytime and deepen the eyes and cheeks a tad for evening. Also, I find I need a gloss over it; otherwise, it is a bit off looking (not sure why though) and my lips get dry after wearing it for a bit.

This is definitely super frosty, so don’t get this if you despise frosts!

If it wasn’t le, I would repurchase again for summer use.

For reference: NW15, blue eyes, med-auburn brown hair

This is a limited edition lipstick from the Blonde Brunette Redhead Collection. It is like a dark strawberry blonde...and it is terrific.

I love it's light frost (not too shimmery) and it makes lips look defined. I get flirted with when I wear it. Very pretty, in fact, this is one of my favorite MAC lipsticks ever. It's corally gold is probably universally flattering.

I'm giving this four lippies for one reason, I've never worn it alone. I always wear it with MAC's soft wave LG which also came out in this collection. The picture that is shown is not really what it looks like, it's more frosty. It's a perfect nude shade for me. I'm an NC30 and it's pretty hard to find a good nude that goes with my pink skin undertone. Definitely stocking on this one. Highly recommend with a gloss, not alone.

Ok like the the person below me said, this lipstick is really funny-looking and kind of ugly on its own, but with lipgloss(esp with my frosted beige NYX gloss) it looks amazing. Def a good lipstick to wear for smokey looks and also a nice nude look.

Ok. I'm going to be honest. This is the ugliest lipstick ever by itself. It is UBER frosty and is a brown/gold sheen. I'm MAC NC/NW20 for reference. BUT when you put a lipglass over it, ANY lipglass really, it is just gorgeous. I've used Monodramatic from the Monogram collection and Pink Grapefruit from Neo Sci-Fi and they've both been hits with What A Do!
I'm excited to try some more combos with it. I definately recommend purchasing and experimenting.

I agree with one of the posts below. It doesn't look like what they show in their product photo. It's more frosty gold, than a nude. For me, a light-skinned brunette, it sort of washes me out. Plus, I feel I can "create" this lipstick with a lipglass I already have and some primer.

Mac has done it again......I love this lipstick......I am NC50 and this lipstick gives me the perfect nude lip.....this doesn't look coppery on me like some of the others have said.....maybe because my lips are pigmented.......I think I am going to purchase another one due to it being a LE before they run out......

Love this l/s. I'm not big on frost formula, but the fact this is a le color, I'll give it some proper credit. Goes perfectly with gingerroot l/l since gingerroot has that pearlized look that goes with frost formula. However! If your not a big fan of frosty lips try soft wave lipglass on top. If you want more of a pinky-plum try plum or plum royale l/l then quick tease lipglass on top. I just got this in the mail, but I'm sure this color will grow on me depending on the look im going for that day. Updates later!

I totally agree with the first review..It is definitely more coppery than anything and not as they described, but still a very Pretty color.

My sister got me this lipstick as soon as it came out, and I haven't stopped using it! It is absolutely gourgous... On me it looks kind of a peachy gold color. I LOVE IT! I am thinking of getting another one before they sell out...

One of the lipsticks from the Brunette part of the BBR collection. Color is described as a neutral pink coral in frost formula.

This lipstick applies almost like a coppery metallic color. It would've been great if it wasn't frost.
