I heard about this being a good primer and bought it, as a primer I actually prefer my Biore UV Perfect Face Milk better, but as a serum-ish product this is wonderful...sadly this has been discontinued in my country.
This has a gel like silicone texture, easily absorbed and leaves the skin smooth and soft. It broke me out in the first week of wearing, I usually break out in the first week of using new skin care, and then the breakouts stopped after my skin adjusted to the new skin care...same goes with this. I have not noticed any pore shrinking, but my skin has become so soft after 3 weeks of using this. I noticed that my skin started getting rough when I stopped using this. Texture of the skin has also improved tremendously.
I feel that this is very lightweight and doesn't make me oily, I feel that this might not be enough for dry skin girls. This is also lightly fragranced. This comes in a tube that is a vacuum pumped, and you can't see the product inside.
I would continue buying this, if it weren't discontinued. Highly recommended for anyone wanting baby soft skin. And for all skin type except dry skin.

This stuff is fabulous, it does exactly what it's name says....minimizes pores and re-smooths the skin.
It dispenses creamy and goes on my skin very easily, not heavy, clumpy or hard to deal with.
Makes my complexion look soft and shine free all day. I am really disappointed that it is not easily found on the drug store shelves.
Unfortunately I think it is discontinued. I am trying to find as much as I can and scoop it up!
If anyone knows where I can find it, please post! Thx.

Bought this on sale. Had a horrible breakout of bumps. Don't know if it was from this or not, but the product other wise didn't seem great anyway so I'm not sad to lose it. I also found out I have a reaction to niacinamide, don't know if this has it in there. But beware!

Overall it's a good moisturiser if you're looking for something more affordable, although I found it quite irritating and I found that throughout the day my skin got dry easily so I reapplied a few times in one day. Perhaps my skin was dehydrated? I did find it to make my pores visibly smaller, which is always a plus! It's alright packaging, a bit futuristic (looks a little like a test tube). Would recommend as a good drugstore/supermarket moisturiser, but if you can save up your pennies there are better moisturisers out there!

I decided to try this product as I saw it on sale for $10AUD, I believe it retails for approx $25.
Unfortunately I have large pores and I've been looking for a miracle product to help minimise the look of them. Skin Genesis was not the product :(
I can't see any difference at all to my pores after using it.
The only redeeming factor is that it makes a good primer, it feels quite light and my makeup goes on well.
Overall, the product doesn't deliver on its promise so I would not repurchase.

This is the one beauty product I use that can't be replaced. It has made a tremendous difference in my skin! Please don't stop making it. Sometimes I can't find it in stores and worry that it's not on the market any longer.
Just a terrific, affordable product. Thank you, L'Oreal!

Overwhelmingly perfumed -- slight greasy feel -- didn't do ANYTHING to reduce appearance of pores -- caused breakouts -- lousy packaging, impractical and deceptive. (Seconding the recommendation to break the top off; quite a bit of what little product you get will be wasted otherwise.)
This didn't even work for me as a primer; it certainly didn't do anything useful to my skin. Not particularly sure how I got to the end of the bottle. The smell is really...I would not buy another L'Oreal skin product again based on the scent alone. Very disappointed with all aspects of this.

I purchased this product based on other reviews from makeup alley and becuase I was looking for a pore refining solution within my budget.
Firstly, this was at the high end of my budget for how little you got.
But! you need very little and the amount 1 pump is often enough for me.
After my cleanser I apply this as a toner and I feel it is gentle enough for my sensitive skin. But it also minimizes oil for my combination/oily skin.
I haven't used it enough to notice results on the pore minimizing, but I've only been using it for a couple days. But my skin feels better and I know it's getting better.
I don't break out and it keeps me fresh throughout most of the day.
Will make a revised review in a couple weeks to see if it does refine the pores.
Someone recommended on here to use it as a primer and I agree that it sets the face for makeup, though if you have dry patched I would recommend applying a light moisturizure. Likewise if you have oily patched I would recommend applying a matt-fying primer to just those sections.
Great product!
~~~~~~~Revised Review~~~~~~~
I found this product did not minimize pores.
It felt like a light moisturizure and it didn't keep up on a dry day.
Unfortunatly, will only use on hot, humid days until the bottle runs out.
I love this stuff! It makes my skin brighter, smoother, and pore free. I am amazed at how soft my skin feels after using this. I use it morning and night underneath my L'oreal skin genesis day and night creams. I have been impressed with the skin genesis line, people can't believe I am turning 40. I will definitely repurchase.
Very good tempo solution for my pores. Pore size is genetic so this is only for temporary. For my oily face, this is much better than Estee Lauder's Idealist, which costs $46.50 vs. $20 for the same 1oz size. I use mostly as primer under mmu and works great! Also more effective in controlling oil and keeping mu longer compared to L'Oreal's Studio Secret primer (0.5oz for $12.99). I used coupon from Sunday's paper and waited for sales :)
I had purchased this pore minimizer awhile back but lost it in my cabnit when I didn't see much change in my skin. I was hoping for my pores to minimize but all I noticed was smoother skin just because of the dried, white cream on my face. I looked at the reviews on here for this the other day and decided to try it as a primer since everyone seemed to like using it under foundation. I tried it this morning and I think I really like it as a primer. I don't see the dried white, I just see smooth skin under my makeup. My cheeks are very red and dry and have been for the past few months. This covered up the red, and while they still look kind of dry, they aren't blood shot red so I am happy! So far so good but I will see if this breaks me out like some have mentioned.
This product says to minimize pores. Yes, it does because it smoothes out the pores and provides a smooth canvas for further moisturization or even makeup application. But for me, it did not work with my combination of BB cream and cream-to-powder foundation because my makeup product would just gather with this product and become little specks of "stuff" on my face that annoyed me. I don't know if anybody ever has this problem, but for me, that is one of my pet peeves. I will not be repurchasing because I just noticed any pore minimzers in general provide a layer of goo that collects with your makeup and just eventually bothers your face as little gobs of stuff like tissue remains on your face. The packaging also bothered me as well because the product would dry on the pump and it would get stuck. Provided, when I actually broke open the bottle after using all of it, that there was quite a bit inside, and that for those who would just throw it away, would not notice that there was still some to use using a q-tip to get it out. Also, for a big bottle that took up space like that, there was so little product. This was a huge disappointment for me =[
I really like this product! I got it as a stocking stuffer for xmas and have been using it every day since. I haven't noticed a super huge change in my pores but it's made my face soooo smooth and soft. I always apply it in the morning before my moisturizer. This product is kind of like a primer for me, I have noticed an added ease with my foundation.. Will buy again, and again! I also like that you are able to lock the pump but I do wish you were able to see how much was left. It feels so empty, I guess you just never really know until it stops coming out!
Please don't tell me this is discontinued!!
It's really a winning combination for my skin really.
Salicyclic acid which speeds up the skin cells, whilst tightening pores/minimising the chances of breakouts, whilst the hyaluronic acid plumps and firms the skin.
I used 3 bottles of this and then I ran out of it. During the usage I quite liked what it was doing, but as a consumer, you are always lured by something 'newer' and more 'innovative' in cosmetic science. So I quit, and opted for a new release.
Lately, my skin had been looking rather dull and lifeless. I couldn't quite make out what may be causing this. I thought it was due to age, stress and diet, but something just wasn't as 'bright' and luminous as it used to be.
As miraculous as it sounds, after about a week of using a combination of Loreal's pore minimising moisturiser with another glycolic acid product, my skin was luminous again!
I hope Loreal will continue to carry this for the niche group that it accommodates.
I imagine this would work well for people in their 20s to 30s; those with combination/oily skin that's looking for an anti aging, brightening product that isn't so thick, rich and acne inducing like most products geared towards this performance.
Let me begin by saying that with skincare products, I have not had luck with L'Oreal at all. Typically they have too much scent for my liking and are just meh. I got this for next to nothing, it was on the clearance rack at Rite aid, so I bought and it sat in my cabinet for about 2 months. So after scrounging around, I rediscovered it and decided to try it out as a primer only. I already use two serums, and since I can't find a primer worth a damn, I'd give it a whirl. Low and behold, this stuff actually does minimize my pores. I was shocked, the only thing that ever did that was Dr. Brandt's pores no more but that's too drying for winter.
this made my make up go on very smooth. My pores are still visible but much less so, which is about all I can ask for. My large, canyon pores are a product of genetics..yeah for dad! This also got rid of those pesky dry patches I have from using Tazorac. Not sure if it was the combo of my Cetaphil and this product but they work well together. This reminds me a bit of Estee Lauders Pore Minimizer but a little more moisturizing. Seeing as L'oreal is owned by Estee Lauder, It's safe to presume that they make the same products but put more "fillers" in the L'Oreal line for cost reasons.
Overall great product. Didn't pill on my face, left it smoother (Not perfect, but much better). Lately my makeup looks terrible after a few hours and as a primer, this is working very well for the winter months. Not in love, but I do like it.
Update-Major Zit maker here. Had to throw it out.
This has been the over-all best product - hands down for me. This is the first pore minimizer that has ever worked on my face! I have stopped using the Smashbox anti-shine primer because I don’t need it now like I did before. I started using the L'Oreal - Skin Genesis Pore Minimizing Skin Re-Smoother Serum mostly to minimize my pores but what I found out it does for me is keep in check my oil production. Who-Hoo! I have been very pleasantly surprised that I barely have any oil buildup on my forehead now, a little around the base of my nose. I probably could dab a bit of Smashbox’s anti-shine there! But not a big deal now because I am so much better!
The L'Oreal - Skin Genesis Pore Minimizing Skin Re-Smoother Serum has a med thick creamy constancy, not runny. The bottle is a nice pump that pumps out just a little at a time, unlike some pumpers that makes you waste product. I just wish it had a see through window/line that lets you know how much is left. I wash my face or rewet it and I apply a small amount. A little is all you need. I feel a small tingle for a couple of seconds then my face is tighter and smoother feeling - all day too! It helps a little with lines – but just minimum/fine – so don’t count on it as a big line eraser. If you have dry skin you defiantly will need to moisturize. I do moisturize at night as I don’t care if I get oily then. In the colder (3 days) here in Fl winter I may have to apply a moisturizer.
I have been using it now for about a month. No bad reactions. All is fantastic so far.
During the day I use a face sunscreen and sometimes the too faced liquid primer, then I apply my base – right now I am experimenting – I am using a thin application of Clinique Redness Solutions in Ivory (Medium Coverage – almost enough yellow in it) and then over that I apply Maybelline Dream Smooth Mouse foundation in Nude Beige (both lines run on the dark side). The Dream Smooth Mousse Foundation gives me a little more coverage & smoothing. Then I dust with Too Faced Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Priming Powder & Finishing veil (more oil control & smoothing) and I am look’n good – all day! (I also apply eye make up of course)
I defiantly recommend the L'Oreal - Skin Genesis Pore Minimizing Skin Re-Smoother Serum, if your skin is not sensitive to any of the ingredients this is a product that works. Just don’t count on it as a big wrinkle fixer or give you any moisturizing. It’s a treatment type product and you don’t need to apply a lot for it to work either.
I hope L'oreal keeps making this! It's a winner!
I initially wanted this for the "skin re-smoother" aspect of it. I used it a few times (at night) and it kind of "stung" so that put me off a bit and off it went to the bottom of my drawer.
Than I herd that it works great as a primer; so i whipped it out again and tried it. It's been 1 week now, and so far I'm impressed with how it keeps my foundation fresh looking. I still have to blot (don't think that will ever go away) however not nearly as often, and not so early in the day.Would def recommend to try as a primer.
My skin tends to be on the oilier/shiny side, and this product is excellent at making my face matte. It has a drying effect and I would no way call this product a "moisturizer". I'm now using this as a primer.
As for the pore minimizing effects, I'm not sold on it. I have some visible pores near my nose and it seems to only be a temporary solution, not progressive.
I will buy this again as a primer, it makes my makeup go on amazingly.
