I'll agree with the previous reviewer in that this is a very unique lipgloss. It reminds me of Dior's Jersey Pink, but slightly deeper in color and about twice as iridescent, which is what makes it more unique. This one has a ton of blue and green shimmer-it's almost to the level of frost. It looks amazing on my lips and while I've loved Jersey Pink since it was A Lick of Taffy, Mermaid Bustier is so much prettier.
The texture is better than Dior's, as well. It's got more grab to it and is stickier, definitely, but it is far from being really sticky. It feels light on my lips. The lasting power is pretty much average-better than Dior but not nearly as good as MAC. I am not a fan of the little pot-I don't use lip brushes, just my finger, and it's actually difficult to get my giant finger into the pot. This should probably encourage me to use a lip brush, but it's a hassle.
While it was expensive for a gloss, I would certainly buy this again. The quality is awesome and the color is amazing!

I have a love/hate relationship with DB's glosses. They could be absolutely divine if they came in a different packing. As it is these little pieces of art come in a little pot, sitting in a tiny pink box which makes it look as if it was candy. Cute! However, since it is in a pot you will have to apply it either with fingertips (ew) or with a brush and the latter makes it impossible to take this gloss with you to re-apply it throughout the day. I don't keep lip brushes in my bag.
Second downside to this: It doesn't last long at all. If you want a long-lasting gloss, you should imho try your luck with MAC.
And another bummer: It's too expensive, imho. One of these little cuties comes at 25 €.
And now for the reason I bought this gloss against my better judgement: Its colour! The colour of Mermaid Bustier is a bright, sparkling, duochrome shimmering pink. And when I say duochrome, I mean both blue and green(!) undertones. It just is the most unique lipgloss colour I came across so far. It is such a full, almost juicy pink that you want to dive into that gloss pot head first. It was love at first sight, what can I say? And sometimes you buy things out of pure lust, all negative aspects cast aside.
DB lipglosses are a guilty pleasure, as far as I am concerned. In terms of quality they aren't the best, but they smell deliciously, pamper the lips with really good ingredients and yeah - the colours. Especially Mermaid Bustier is that one gloss that you wouldn't find at any other brand.
But all raving aside, I cannot give it all five lippies because of the above mentioned downsides. I suggest you go and look at it directly in a store and see for yourself whether this is worth a try.
