Everyone that knows me knows that I'm the "Lip Balm Queen". I've tried almost every lip balm I've laid my eyes on. And this is one of the worst ones I've tried. Not moisturizing at all, icky consistency on lips, smells sickly sweet and tastes weird. The only thing going for this is the SPF 30. But you can get that from so many other better lip balms. I do not recommend!

I've been having really dry chapped peeling lips lately and usually I use my Nivea Repair and Protection lip balm or my Nivea Hydro Care one and they are my favourite lip balms, so I always rely on them to make my lips feel better and moisturized.

But this morning I woke up with the most horrible dry lips ever and I used my normal lip balms, but they didn't work.

so while I was shopping with my mum at the grocery store, I picked some of this stuff up because it seem like what I needed, and because I love the smell of Vanilla, so this was a perfect combination, it was also on sale for $3.50 NZD.

I just wanna say this stuff is AMAZINGGGG!
My lips are ultra smooth and better than ever!
This is going to be my new everyday lip balm from now on.

Also the cons are:
- It doesn't really smell like vanilla that much and it kind of has a weird sweet taste on your lips.

This moisturises my lips for roughly an hour or so at a time. I don't believe the amount of bad reviews, because it really isn't all that bad. I do agree with the waxy feeling of the product but I find it's necessary as it seems to keep the lips moist for a reasonable amount of time. I don't really mind that it's waxy anyway. I put this on before I got to bed and find my lips ready for lipstick in the morning. Also, it doesn't taste like sunscreen (I've never tasted sunscreen) instead it has a light vanilla smell with no strong taste. Extremely cheap, and I would probably repurchase.

EDIT: I dropped from 4 to 3 points. There is a odd taste which is stopping me from touching this product. And I won't repurchase.

I don't understand all the unfavourable reviews ... like seriously. I love this stuff because it reminds me of my dad, when I was a kid and he used to let me borrow his lip chap, he would lend me this one.

Anyways, this is one of Blistex's better formulas. First of all, it doesn't smell like sunscreen at all. It has a nice, sort of banana/vanilla smell that isn't harsh or overbearing. It's pretty moisturizing in comparison to other stick forms of lip chap and it has spf.

Anyway, I would recommend this lip chap to everyone. It's my favourite out of the Blistex line. The reason why I won't repurchase is because I have too many other lip chaps.

This lip balm has a terrible taste and smell! It's only redeeming points are the SPF 30 and that it is a little moisturizing. I especially went to buy lip balm and ended up getting this because of the small collection my college drugstore has. However, I hate the taste and smell so much that I can't stand to have it on my lips. I tried to like it, but I wiped it off soon afterwards. I do not recommend unless you enjoy the sunscreen type taste and smell. I will not be repurchasing and will need to run off ASAP to get another lip balm with SPF.

I don`t mind this product so much. I like the smell of sunscreen since it always reminds me of summer, that`s why I would re-purchase this and on top of that it`gives you spf 30 for ultra protection. I would agree, you definitely need to put this on first and then apply your favorite lip gloss on top of it.

I have no problem with it since it leaves my lips nice and soft. I don`t find it that waxy at all as everyone claims. well that`s just my 2 cents.

This is my preferred lip balm. I've tried a few different brands and this is by far the best. Works quickly, and protects from the sun.

Packaging isn't very nice.. but it works so I'll continue to purchase.

I'm guessing they changed something about this product because I do not get the heavy feeling nor does it smell like sunscreen. I love this thing. My lips are always so soft even after trudging around in crazy canadian winters (the wind is a killer). It's not waxy at all and it doesn't leave that residue at the corner of my lips like the other balms I've tried. The spf 30 at least makes me feel as if I am protecting the sensitive skin that are my lips. I will always continue using blistex products because to me they are fantastic.

I always have pretty chapped lips and my friend recommended using Blistex to help. I really wish I wouldn't have listened. This stuff is so waxy and gross that I felt like I had smeared a candle on my lips. It did keep them moisturized for a few hours but the taste was almost unbearable and the waxy feeling was so nasty. Pass!

I love this stuff, I work out doors and have never had a problem with the sun and my lips.
It does have a sunscreen smell which I love, but some may not.
I haven't had a problem with it drying out my lips at all .
A very smooth easy application no color, I use it everyday

it's fine i guess if you're up for a day of skiing or something...
all i can taste when i have it on is the sunscreen, and it goes on quite thick, almost waxy.also the smell is really strong--very suncreen. ugh. great spf factor, was around $3, 3.50 canadian. its probably not a bad idea to have a tube lying around here or there if you spend alot of tiem doing extreme sports and whatnot, but if not just stick to your normal lipbalm with like the spf of 10 or whatever. it's fine.

I am attracted to the package of this lip balm, so I bought it today!
First time using it,my lips feel a bit heavy and dry. Subconsciously, I just want to get rid of it from my lips. The worst thing probably is that I will be distracted by this heavy cream on my lips all the time..
Something I like about this product,
1)non sticky at all.
2)yeah it's white. so it covers uneven color/chipping lips slightly. It dilutes the redness and give a pink sheer.I actually found the visual effect is impressive.
But overall i don't think i will buy it again, because it's too dry and heavy.O well, it's supposed to give protection not moisture..so i guess in that case I have nothing to complain about this lip balm.

×UPDATE×:apply your favourite lip balm that's with out the SPF(in my case the Alba Hawaiian in coconut flavour $4.99 ) and then use Ultra Protection to have full moisture and protection. This is for you who have bought this product and can't throw it away or use it up.

This lip balm's SPF 30 was what attracted me to it. But once I put it on, all I could taste was sunscreen. Yuck! Blistex should try to improve on the ingredients. Don't know if this thing moisturizes well as I've only used it once. Cost me around CDN $3.00 and I won't be repurchasing.

Garbage! This stuff smells okay, but tastes like crap. Maybe it's impossible to have such a high spf without a high spf taste, but you'd have to be battling some serious conditions to warrant using this nasty stuff.

Blech. I bought this product because it's got a hefty SPF of 30 (as a PPP, I like to be careful about UVA/UVB exposure). The problem is that I never wear it.

First, the stuff is too waxy and gooey for words; the "stick" of balm actually lost its shape and seems to have gone all goobery inside the applicator tube. The situation isn't helped by the flip-top lid, which all too easily gets gummed up with the stuff. When I finally do get some onto my lips, it's thick and white and UNPLEASANT. (Yes, I can make it less thick by wiping some off with my finger, but shouldn't it be possible to apply a thin layer to begin with?)

Nope... this stuff just ain't worth the trouble.

UPDATE: Just discovered Clear Advance, also by Blistex. It's everything this lip balm isn't! Hello, Holy Grail of balms. Blistex, thou hast redeemed thyself.

This tastes like a sweet sunscreen, and as gross as that sounds I actually enjoyed it. Reminds me of the beach. However, I found it extremely drying on my lips. I wore it over the summer when I went out in the sun because it has SPF 30 and I wanted to protect my lips, but it made my lips feel so dry I longed for regular lip balm. The flip top cap is really annoying as well because it gets in the way of application. I wanted to like this and I really like the taste, but not worth repurchasing.

I bought this because it is Broad Spectrum and has SPF30. But it is so dry, not moisture at all. So I only can use it as a lip sunblock, not a lip balm. I need to use another moisturing lip balm beneath it. When I went out, I need to bring 2 lip balm, one for moisture, one for sun protection. Of course, I wil not buy it again.
