This is my second bottle of the Essence and my skin showed improvement in the first week when I started using it. My skin feels softer and smoothier. It evens out my skins tones (some dark and red spots). After I finished the first bottle I went about a month without using any serum and still felt my skin was great. The only complaint I have is that it is hard to tell if the product is running low until it is empty. You can't see how much is left in the bottle.

LOVE this product. I've been using samples for about a month and Loved the way my skin felt after the first time I applied it. Will definitely buy the full size as soon as I can afford it. Love the way my skin feels after I use it.

Shiseido Super Refining Essence does everything what it promises. It perceptibly promotes skins own exfoliation. The product has good moisturising and energizing qualities. When you use it to much skin can get drier because of exfoliation, but every too much exfoliation does the same and this one uses the conceivable gentlest way to exfoliate. Use a good moisturiser after applying it.

Have been using this product twice a day for just under a year and it hasn't made an ounce of a difference. A waste of money in my humble opinion. Was expecting a "clearer and more even toned" complexion as sold to me by the sales rep. I'll be trying the Clinique Even Better Skin Corrector next!

I'm not sure if this product did anything for my skin because I can't tell a difference. I didn't like its price tag that came along with it. It has a nice scent to it, absorbs pretty well and quickly into the skin but I don't think it was worth the price tag. Will not be repurchasing this one again.

I got a full size of this product when I bought a whole lot of skincare from Shiseido. I love the Bio-Performance cream and had high hopes for this product.
The texture is very nice and smooth and absorbs well. I've used it day and night for about a month and don't see any change. On the plus side, it didn't irritate my dry, sensitive skin within seconds, like most products do. However, I have yet to see any improvements. Also, I'm not sure if it's because of the sudden fall weather, or the addition of this essence to my routine, but my skin gets tighter and drier sooner in the day, requiring me to rehydrate with moisturizer.
It may be too drying for my skin in the winter, but it should be great in the spring or summer when it's humid. The only reason why I won't buy this product again is that I just got so much of it free, it'll last me for more than a year.

This is my mom's but I use it anyway because I have SUPER dry skin. What I noticed, is that it smoothes out the texture of your skin, and minimizes pores.
Love this. Even though it's not for my age.

Lightweight serum that refines skins texture, helping to minimize fine lines, pores and uneven texture.
I love this is a lightweight serum, and doesnt feel heavy or sticky on the skin.

The texture feel nice on face and not heavy at all, the serum has a very nice package too, but the point is I didn't find any improvement on my face after using a whole bottle. I would not buy it again....

Pump, airtight and it delivers.I have been using for 3 weeks and it has definitely made my skin better...it's hydrated, smooth and radiant thank's to vitamin C.
Works as a serum and alone, i use it alone in the a.m. followed by a sunscreen and i'm happy.

This is my second day using this . It's a clear gel type essence that smells like rose. It goes on well ,smoothly and is hydrating enough to allow my tinted moisturiser to glide on my face.
I have been using this product all over my eye area and my neck too .
The results after two days- my face is smoother ,a little more luminous and the skin is a bit plumper. I would say this is a good product. I have had no breakouts from it nor irritation. Maybe this might irritate younger skins or sensitive skins or a combination of both. The price is more reasonable than Clarins Generation 6 and it feels and smells as good. I don't think this is a product for those under the ages of 30 /35.
I can't give it 5 stars till I have used it abit longer.
It says on the leaflet that at 2 pumps ,twice a day, this product should last approx. 2 months - I can't argue with the economics of that !

I hate it, this broke me out like crazy.
I used it for two weeks, absolutely no improvement whatsoever. Instead, it gave me 5 big red painful pimples on the chin, which I am still dealing with 2 weeks later. It has a very nice texture, but the scent is too much for my standard.

This is my new HG daily moisturizer. I absolutely love how it makes my skin feel 24/7. It has the consistency of a light water-based gel. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and am prone to breakouts on my forehead that I'm continually combatting. I've gone through many daily moisturizers over time and this one is by far the best on my skin to date. It leaves a smooth silky (but not oily) feel and I could notice the difference within a few days. My skin felt much softer and looked more radiant. I've been using it for abut 2 months now, and my skin still continues to look great. The price tag is a little steep if you're watching your wallet, but for me, it is well worth it. Like most of the Shiseido products, one bottle will last a very long time because a little goes a very long way.

I rated this a two because I didn't feel that it was accomplishing its stated purpose. Product states that it "optimizes the skins natural cycle." It states that it reduces lines and wrinkles while moisturizing and creating smoother skin. This product is a lightweight gel/serum texture. The texture is hard to describe, its not at all oily, feels like a "dry gel" not at all wet or watery but not oily or creamy. It absorbs amazingly well, moisturizing lightly. I wouldn't recommend it if you had severely dry skin, however light enough not to affect oily skin/combo skin. I have an oily tzone and this didnt clog pores or create an even oilier face. It's almost matte like after applied. I do have to say that it does a great job of creating smooth moisturized skin, almost velvet like skin. It goes on well under makeup, not making foundations slide off. BUT after 2 months of usage I didn't notice a great change in terms of more radiant and youthful looking. I have great skin, occasional breakouts, oily tzone and no line/wrinkles. I originally purchased it because it was the replacement for the Skincare serum that got discontinued. I dont feel that it lived up to its predecessor. At $75 USD I dont feel that it was close to living up to its main purpose. Many other products can lightly moisturize, this only does that. I'll continue to look for another serum that will do a better job. If you have very sensitive skin that reacts wildly to AHAs or BHAs, this maybe a good product as it is very gentle. However I just didn't notice a difference in my skin, not much improvement. What I'm looking for is for a serum that will provide antioxidants/vitamins while gently exfoliating, this didnt fit the bill so don't always listen to the SA just because its a replacement for a discontinued product.
