I am surprised at the negative reviews here, and can only guess that people are applying the mascara like 'normal' mascara, which you're not meant to do. You are supposed to just hold the mascara on your lashes and let IT do the work.
I have tried just about every 'good' mascara going, but it's a waste of money and I always revert to this one - - despite its high price. You can get it online for less than £20 which is a blessing. The mascara never flakes for me, never ever clumps and lasts ages...I'm still using mine many months later after I bought the last one. My lashes are defined, long and amazing compared to just about every other mascara I have tried. I wish I could find an alternative, as this costs a lot, but it is hugely superior. It's the best Lancome mascara for me out of all of them too. I tried Hypnose Star, and though it was good it did CLUMP! Use this Oscillation mascara properly and you will be delighted.

This has become my go to mascara. I am super picky about mascara and have tried dozens. What I like about this, is it never smudges. Even when I put rich eye cream on, spritz my face, or take a hot yoga class. I use it with the XL primer and get long, amplified lashes that last all day and is easy to remove in the evening. A tube also lasts me 2-3 months, as opposed to some I've tried that dry up after a couple of weeks. I use a metal tooth comb after applying this also, so no clumping. The downside is the cost and a teeny bit of flaking sometimes. Otherwise it would be my HG. I noticed another reviewer said this was discontinued, but I just bought mine, Sept. '12, from a Dept. store.

oh god, THE SMELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DIED. It's so disgusting. And it flakes every where and dries to quickly and gets seriously clumpy. I will never buy this ever again.

I have had great experiences with other Lancome mascaras (Definicils, Fatale, Hypnose) but this one - not so much. It does not provide really any volume or lenght but just clumps your lashes together. I can see it is discontinued now, and that is perhaps not so surprising, at least not if sales corresponds to average reviews.

This is my HG mascara! I am very disappointed that it is being pulled from the Lancome counters. Thankfully it is still available at Sephora! I will be stocking up. Yes, at $35 it seems pricey, however I have used one tube up to 5 months with almost everday use. The scent never had that "off" smell and it took a long time to dry out. I am on my 3rd tube of this and am planning a trip to Sephora to stock up before they pull it.
I do agree with another reviewer who stated that this product is better for certain lash types and personal preference. My natural lashes are typical asain lashes...short, stick straight and refuse to curl. I've been using Latisse and Talika for a couple of years now so my lashes are longer (probably average for most) and there are more hairs.
This mascara lasts all day on me with no flaking or smudging. I have worn it for >12 work day and it still looks great. When I start to notice a little flaking I know its time for a new tube. It adds length, volume and holds a curl like no ones business. I prefer volume on my lashes verses lenth and this mascara provides both!
It is easy to remove with just soap and water, cleansing cloth or a cotton ball with makeup remover. I know some people don't understand when someone says a mascara is "easy to remove" but let me give an example. Loreal Carbon Black line....very messy to remove and takes ALOT of work to get it all off. Yes, it's deep and pigmented, but the Lancome has the same amount of pigmentation and SO much easier to remove!
Yes, this mascara does have a "learning curve" to it. But after a few applications I had it down. I find that the brush shape is great for those of us with small eyes. I originally thought the oscillation was just gimicky, however it does help in application tremendously. I find that it helps to coat the entire lash with the traditional application method and maybe just one pass behind the lashes to get the backside covered. I honestly don't think that it's a necessary step with this mascara, but I like thick in your face lashes. One tip is to also move the wand slow up the lash. Start at the lashline and while holding the oscillation button SLOWLY pull up to the ends. I think a lot of people make the mistake of trying to apply this like they would a "traditional" mascara.
I know that you're "supposed" to only use mascara for 3 months, but I have and will continue to use mine longer. Not only to reduce overall cost of the product but also in light of it being discontinued.

This has got to be one of the worst mascaras I have ever tried. Lumpy doesn't even begin to describe the disastrous application process that ensued every time I try to use this product. And I had such high expectations for it (perhaps I thought it could do for my eyelashes what my beloved, now discontinued, SK II Air Touch foundation used to do for my skin).... But well, what can I say.... Guess I should've checked MUA before wasting $35 bucks.

I'm on my 2nd tube of this stuff. I have to admit the vibration was what drew me in. What kept me going for more is how the mascara kept the curl of my lashes in place, even with my point-straight-down lashes. I do have to have a light hand with this so as not to get a lot of product on and it does take some practice to get it right as you don't apply the same as you would with a non-vibrating wand. I did wish it volumized a bit better. Not my HG but will buy again.

clumpy clumpy clumpy!! the vibrating brush thing is a nice little touch that seems good in theory, but while it did lengthen my lashes, it also made it look like i had about 5 huge lashes instead of a normal amount.
i am SO disappointed in this, esp for the price. i do NOT recommend it!

I found that even though it is pricey, the vibration did help seperate my lashes, despite what other reviewers have said. It doesn't clump, two coats is just right. Stays on.

The formula is nothing spectacular, and the vibrating brush is just a gimmick. When I apply this, the mascara comes out thick and clumps my lashes together. The result: darkened masses of lash that yes, look longer and thicker than they did before I applied the product, but definitely not better. I end up combing my lashes out, and the effect is as good as any generic lengthening/volumizing mascara, along with all the flaking and smudging of such mascaras.

I bought this on a whim and felt immediately guilty- I knew I'd been suckered, there's noway that a vibrating mascara is going to be any better than a regular one...and I was right. Not only that, its almost impossible to use the vibrating mechanism and apply the mascara at the same time.
The product starts to make your eyelashes stick together the moment you try to reapply it to areas its already started to dry in, so if you're not quick with your first application or you've missed a bit it will start to look clogged on your eyelashes.
If that wasn't bad enough, the dryness of it means small particles crack off for the rest of the day, you'll find them all over your face but mainly under your eyes.
Its by far the worse mascara I've ever used.

i remember the hype when this first came out...people went crazy over it. now, not so much. it's not a bad mascara, it definitely adds some definition and separates my lashes and did not clump or flake for me. still, it's not something i would buy for myself.

I got this from my husband for Christmas.
The good:
Long, thick lashes. VERY long thick lashes!
The bad:
It clumps together easily and FLAKES all over.
When I can get this to go on well, it looks amazing. I've been asked if I wear false eyelashes when I wear this mascara. It goes on rather thick and heavy and I always have to comb through it really well. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. It gives me the "five big eyelashes" look when it doesn't work out. It does flake horribly.
I'll use it up. I like it well enough to play with it, but I won't be getting any more. I just can't get the look consistent enough to justify the pricetag.

This is probably my favourite mascara. I have tried all the Lancome mascaras and many other luxury brands and I find I gravitate towards this one the most. I have rather long but straight lashes, and this mascara deposits even amounts of mascara in 2 easy swipes. I like the fuller and almost false looking type of lashes, and this mascara evenly fans out your lashes. I wear glasses, so I find with many mascaras they flake one me. This one is no exception. I really don't mind anymore though, since I place L'Extrem or and of MAC's mascaras on top to lenthen and seal the mascara in. I also should add that I use the Oscillation Cils Booster in it which definetly helps with volume and the full nature of the lashes. This mascara lasts a long time too and doesn't dry out, which is great.

It added great length and volume, however the formula was too heavy to keep my lashes curled (mine are asian). While the formula adds length and volume, it's a little thick and heavy, hence it weighs down your lashes and can clump after a couple layers so have a lash comb/wand ready!
As for the vibrating gimmick, it was nice for a good initial lay down of mascara but I still had to comb it through without the vibrations to avoid clumping.
I would not purchase this again because of the price (I haven't gone through enough drugstore ones yet) and the fact it can't hold a curl (even a heated one). But I did love the drama...

I don't know why this product has such low rating. It is amazing. It makes my lashes long and thick so easily. First I apply one coat of Hypnose Drama then this over it and wow! The first couple of times it made me teary but then I got used to the vibration! It is so amazing; takes my lashes to a whole new level. And it doesn't clump at all --if it does you're using it wrong.
34$ is pricey as hell but I have it 4 months now so it's worth it.
PRONS
-Long lashes
-Thick lashes
-Not clumpy
-Nice packaging
-Last's long
-Works well over other mascaras
