I am definitely not in the age category to be using this but I stole it off my mum and I love it! I have very oily skin and use this instead of a moisturiser; I do have to touch up a few times but that happens whether I use this primer or not, it does not add to my oilyness and makes my foundation go on much smoother. I personally like the smell but if you get headaches or reactions from fragrance I wouldn't recommend

This is only the second primer I've tried and I rather like it. The smell is lovely, it makes my skin look and feel smooth, and my make up lasts much longer. I can't say it lives up to its name, there was no illuminating going on but I can see that it does improve my skin so I guess that's what they mean. If you have oily skin, best not to use a moisturiser first (I don't know if you're supposed to or not anyway though). It didn't make the oiliness in my skin worse so that was a bonus, and I still had to blot but I'm used to having to do that (on hot days in particular).
I'll but it again though.

It took me a couple of days of use to notice a difference when I first started using this primer.
PROS: It feels great on my skin, pleasant scent, it doesn't contribute to oil build up, my pores are virtually invisible, apart from an afternoon blotting (around my nose which is normal for me) I didn't have to touch up my make up and you only need the smallest amount so I'd say this is well priced.
CONS: I can see why some people might not like the scent as it is very distinct (the rosehip oil?) and I didn't notice much of a difference with the appearance of fine lines but I'm not sure that is a feature of the product (or maybe it's still early days).

I usually find primers to be too heavy on my skin, causing breakouts and that overall I gain little benefit from using them. This is the first primer that I have truly liked! I think it is particularly great for those with dry skin and found it really good especially in winter. It is really moisturising, but not greasy, shiny or heavy at all! I can't say how it would go for oily people though, as I'm like a desert! You get a good amount of 50ml for what I consider a really good price. You don't have to use too much either and I love how easily it spreads! It isn't illuminating at all but I found that it did help foundation application and it appeared to adhere to my skin better. I would say it helped foundation last longer although I haven't worn it in the summer yet. However, I feel that primers can only do so much with helping foundation stay on longer as sweating etc. are inevitable and you can't stay fresh entirely throughout a whole day. It doesn't have any aritifical fragrance either and is great for senstiive skin! It actually has a pretty nice scent from the natural oils in it, I can see some people disliking it but I would prefer it over articial and overly scented parfum which smells chemically and gives me a headache. Like mentioned, I haven't tried it in the summer yet although at worst this is a good moisturising primer, especially those with drier skin and even if this is too much for my skin in the summer, I would definitely repurchase it for the winter.

I love this product. Far better than some of the supposed "best primers on the market". My foundation stayed in place all day and by the evening I just need a little bit of powder to continue into the night.

This primer is okay. It does prime the skin before putting on foundation and reduces my acne scars slightly but not as much as other primers. As a result I wouldn't repurchase. For the price it's good but I prefer spending 3 times as much for a better result.

Wow. I cannot believe how positive the comments are.
While this product has a great smell and leaves my face feeling lovely it is just way too oily for anyone with combination or oily skin.
By the end of the day my face looked like it had been sprayed with water (and not in a nice dewy way).
If you have normal or dry skin this would be great, but people with combination or oily skin STAY AWAY!
I actually cannot use it with my makeup anymore and instead have to use it as a moisturiser after I cleanse at night.
I highly recommend Australis over this product. More staying power, less oily and cheaper.
I cannot believe anyone else hasn't found it to be too oily yet. I'd actually love to post photos of before and after (morning and arvo) with this product compared to Australis primer. You'd notice the watery face on the camera and think I'd have swum in olive oil.

Can't use, itches my sensitive skin. On a different note I saw MumAgain thinks it doesn't contain silicones, but it actually does. I just checked my brand new tube and the ingredients list on the back says "dimethicone", which is a silicone.

LOVE THIS!!
I have little experience with primers, before this had only really used a random one from revlon (sorry don't know the range, it was a transparent one though... came in a tube... meh)
and this is so lovely! my foundation glides on so nicely when I've used this and it STAYS PUT. ALL DAY LONG. I can go to the gym and work up a hideous sweat and when I leave my makeup still looks fabulous. This primer has prevented my crappy chanel lift lumiere concealer from creasing as much around the eyes. THIS IS SO GREAT. I RECOMMEND! :)

I can't believe I'm onto my fourth bottle and haven't reviewed this before now. 've been using this for about 5 years now and haven't really found anything better to hold my makeup in place. Feels light and DOES NOT clog pores. I love that it doesn't contain any silicone. Makes foundation very easy to apply and blend with no dry patches and I definitely have noticed a difference in the longevity of my foundation with this on - easily lasting a normal work day. I've tried Lancôme, Napoleon, ModelCo, Revlon, MAC etc and this blows all of them out of the water in terms of value for money and effectiveness. Will keep repurchasing this forever.

It didn't so anything amazing, it did hold and keep my make up on as for 'illuminating' it didn't highlight or provide a glow, shine or shimmer.

And...Natio delivers another impressive product. So far, this is the best primer I've tried, especially in terms of foundation longevity. Their range is all very affordable, in my opinion, compared to what comparable drugstore products normally retail for in Australia. I think I got in on sale for around $13 AUD.
Clean, simple, no fuss packaging. I can easily control how much I want. Gives a lovely base, is not greasy. Absorbs quickly (but not too quickly).
I would repurchase

I quite liked this primer. It went on nicely and gave a glow (shea butter in it?). My face is quite dry so I moisturise, then this primer on top and I have a nice dewy look to my foundation. I found though I did have to make sure it was completely covering my face otherwise I would look 'patchy' when my foundation was done. Also, blend foundation in really well as the primer might make the foundation streaky. Other than that it held my foundation/eyeshadow/lipstick well all day with it still looking good by evening. I haven't used any other primer yet so I can't compare, but this seems to do its job perfectly fine to me :)

This primer is better than benefit's That Gal.
It provides a smoother base for concealer and foundation thus less concealer and foundation are needed. I dont think this prolongs my foundation wear but overall it's a good base.
Its packaging is a squeeze tube but because its texture is very smooth and almost like a thick viscous water, you can easily squeeze out more than you need. Honestly I literally use 3 drops for my face, ive been using the same tube for more than a year now. Anyway because it has a smooth texture, it tends to build up on the hole of the tube and harden, like a lotion would.
It contains rosehip oil, lavender oil, lemon oil, paraben, shea butter and sesame seed oil. My skin is very oily, especially on the T zone and cheeks, so this is like a double-edged sword for me because it doesnt help my oily skin. I think a primer needs to have some kind of oil to act as a base, and a water-based primer would only let foundation slip and slide.
overall this primer has a decent amount of product and price & as a base, it is satisfactory.

I am so impressed by this primer! Initially when I tried some on the back of my hand I found that it felt like it did nothing, just any plain old serum-like moisturiser. Went home and checked out the reviews here and then decided to give it a try since many reviewers had had good experiences with it.
I have oily, acne-prone combination skin (I know I'm so lucky, I've got the lot), so I need something to moisturise but absorbs quickly. I never used a primer prior to this, I only used light moisturisers (was using Neutrogena's oil-free Moisturiser for Combination skin) but I started noticing that the skin on my forehead was getting bumpy and on some days the foundation around my nose made my skin texture look really uneven. So I figured it was about time I ventured into the primer dept.
PROS:
- Absorbs quickly with no oily residue
- Evens out my skin texture & the pores around my nose are definitely smaller with the skin looking flawless/smooth
- I don't have a big issue with skin tone, but I'm pretty sure this did something for my skin tone too because my makeup just looks better somehow
- Makes my foundation last longer and my makeup still looks fresh at the end of the day
- Controls my insanely oily skin! This has been the ONLY product that has managed to keep me from getting shiny. I normally need to blot and use powder during the day (I use MAC Blot Powder which helps with oil control but still requires me to blot at least once). However, I've noticed that only my nose is shiny now (as opposed to my entire face. And when I say I have oily skin I mean my fringe gets oily from being in contact with my forehead if I haven't blotted in time)
- Makes my foundation totally transfer resistant! I use Maybelline's 24hr SuperStay foundation which on its own is pretty good with being transfer resistant but when I need to blow my nose or something like this, I still get transferring of foundation. BUT this primer has made my foundation bomb-proof!
- SILICONE-FREE!!!
- No strong smell, and what little smell this primer has dissipates quickly (which is unsual for a Natio product, I have the GLOW moisturiser and a Night cream and both are seriously strong smelling stuff)
- Made from natural products (organic rosehip oil) and high in Vitamin C
CONS
- Probably a bit expensive ($AUD17 for 1.7 oz)
- The consistency is very runny, so being in a tube can possibly lead to some overflow when dispensing the product. So it might have been better in a pump bottle, but if you're careful there shouldn't be any issues.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
- All skin types. It's moisterising enough for dry skin but doesn't aggravate oily skin (instead it controls the oil...and remember, this is coming from grease face here). Silicone-free so definitely appropriate for those who have acne-prone or have sensitive skin.
I am definitely buying this again! I haven't tried any other primers but this without a doubt is my HG! It does everything a primer is meant to do and I'm so happy I've found a way to control my oily skin!

Napoleon Perdis left me with a distasteful after-taste towards runny primers ever since I tried their one...it felt so yucky on my skin. As such, I began steering towards silicone ones instead because of their dry velvety finish.
Thanks to Natio, however, my repulsion to runny primers disappeared. This primer is fluid but an effective makeup tool because it absorbs so quickly into your skin (thumbs up for time management!!), has a pleasant aroma, leaves a smooth canvas for foundation (excellent prepping tool) and is very very gentle on my horrbly sensitive skin.
Does makeup last longer - it works about the same amount of time as any ol' primer. I have nothing truly remarkable to say about this in terms of long-lastingness.
Does makeup stay fresher for longer? - I believe it does - better than my past primers anyway!
Oil-control? - Doesn't make it better, but doesn't make it worse either. Just a normal primer that doesn't specialise in sebum-control or anything.

Lovely primer, although a bit runny and I found my lid will not shut properly leaving dry primer all clogging the tube. Do not use this primer if you are going to apply foundation with a cheap brush as this will leave lines all over your face, it would probably do that anyway with a cheap brush. Probably not the best for oily skin because of it's runny factor. I love it and it's smell and ingredients AND how you only need to use a little to cover your whole face!

Natio is an Australian brand, it's available at Debenhams or online. I was attracted to this primer because it has the word "ageless" written on the bottle. It's actually pretty good, really light and great for people who don't like to feel like they have too much make up on. I actually noticed an improvement in my skin tone after I started using it.
Pros: Nice light primer. Not sticky. Works just as well as more expensive primers. Contains natural products including Shea butter, Rosehip oil and Vitamin C which helps even out skin tone and Aloe Vera which helps calm down redness.
Cons: No SPF which is a vital consideration in the southern hemisphere - believe me, the more the better. Is more expensive to buy in UK (£18 ouch!). And I'm about to run out. Wah!

This is a really good primer. It gives a really smooth surface for make up application. I am quite an oily person and i find that after applying on this primer, my pores actually reduce in size and my t-zone produces less oil.
After washing my face, i use my moisturiser first. I have that on my skin for 20 minutes before i use my primer (which i let it sink for 10 minutes) and then i use my foundation.
The mixture is running (which i like because absorption is faster) and a little goes a long way. I bought it for $15.95 which is a huge bargain considering how much i'm loving this product.
Definitely going to repurchase this when i run out. Recommended!!!! <3

I purchased this product recently because I was using a moisturiser under my makeup and it was leaving my skin too shiny. I was impressed by the reviews of this product and I was also happy with the price, so gave it a go. This is a lovely primer. My skin looks just right - not matte, not shiny. My makeup goes on really evenly over it - what more could you ask for really! I am not always happy with the quality of Natio products, but this one is first rate!
