This review is for Smooth Minerals Avon foundation in pressed and loose powders. I have both and just love them! I was actually turned off by mineral powders as i have tried some other brands in the past and hated all of them. These work so great and give you the best coverage and doesn't give you that shimmery shiny look that the other ones did. If you like mineral foundations you should try this one. It sure is better than Bare Minerals and that one by Leeza Gibbons Sheer Cover, those are the ones I have tried and even ended up returning. Avon's goes on smooth and just gives you that nice natural look where it doesn't even look like your wearing foundation but everything is covered.

I used to ALWAYS use this and I always got many compliments. However, after a year my face began getting a cosmetic allergic reaction. Maybe it was just a phase though. After reading the reviews and seeing that they have made a new formula, I think I'll be going to Avon to re purchase and see if it still works for me. Ill keep you updated :)

this powder is pretty good. it is actually light enough for my skin and doesn't oxidize my foundation! also looks pretty natural, and gives great coverage. but it is a bit drying and seems to crease a bit more than most powder foundations. I do like using it in spots as a concealer, though. and it is reasonably priced.

I started using this loose powder about three weeks ago. I love it. It covers better than Bare Minerals which I had been using. My skin is sort of combination, dry in the winter and kind of oily in the summer. This has been great for my skin, as it is winter now. it doesn't make me look dry and patchy. I love the coverage it gives. I love the container, it has a little valve that controls how much of the powder is accessible at a time, which would be great for bare minerals as I ended up wasting a ton of it each time. But this container is great because just a tap and I get the perfect amount to cover my whole face. Also I still have plenty of the stuff to last for the next three weeks! It doesn't look like it would last that long but you don't use much each time. Def. would recommend this stuff to others.

This is my must-have warmer months foundation...perfect coverage and really natural looking. I wear it over a BB cream and some concealer - and with minimal touch ups it stays looking great. Can be built up too. My only gripe is that it can make a bit of mess on the counter on application, but I'm not sure how you would stop that with any loose powder foundation. I apply with a good quality kabuki and make sure to tap off excess in the lid...that way you can avoid any unevenness. At $NZD15 when on special (and it often is) it really is value for money:)

Omg I love this product so much! It's incredible! It's the first loose powder i have purchased and it's absolutely amazing, it's pretty cheap and the packaging is so cute and durable. Firstly it has phenomenal coverage and it's so natural looking. This is definitely my HG powder. Only tiny downside is that in the morning when I am rushing it takes a wee bit longer than just a pressed powder but Idc tbh it's just such a great product I definitely recommend to anyone! Xo

I absoulutly LOVE this foundation. Its not heavy and it goes on very light and smooth. I had problems with foundations that would clog my pores and then Id break out and then I would use more make up to cover the break outs. it was an endless sicle. This foundation covered and cleared out my skin in almost 2 weeks. I recomend it to every one, especially those with sensitive or oily skin

This product is the best foundation I have ever tried ! It covers up spots very well and gives a natural look. It is very soft and comfortable. This make-up does not slide off easily it stays on through the day Giving a nice look and not too orange. It makes your face very smooth. I loove this stuff <3

Just as happy with this as I have been with the other mineral foundations I have used. More so, actually... as it's MUCHO cheaper.

I live in a really hot climate and have oily acne-prone skin. This product irritated my skin making it itchy and causes me to break out. Not happy. Anyways half way through the day, it starts to look more like frosting on a cake.

I have this in the lightest shade and it's a little too dark for me. I don't usually wear foundation so I thought I'd try a powder one. It has excellent staying power however the container is awful. Made the mistake of shaking too much (I have another product from Avon which you have to shake loads to get the product out. This is not like that at all) but, unlike the BE containers, it was easy to get back in. The pot is tiny but it's full right to the top which I like. If you're not careful you can end up looking orange. Not sure if I'd buy this again. The colour would put me off from repurchasing. I think there is definitely better out there, but for now this will do.

I typically use bare minerals matte foundation but one of my co-workers said this stuff worked just as good or even better than bare minerals so I decided to try it. I wasnt sure which color to get since i had never tried any avon power/foudation before so I just went off the color in the book(bad idea) the color in the book and what you actually get are two completey diffrent things!..of course I got a shade that was way to light it made me look like a ghost! so I was able to go a shade up at no cost :) but I had to wait a whole another week to get it. Once I received the new shade it was too dark! :( but i found that if i mixed the two together i it matched my skin perfectly :) i used my bare mineral flawless face brush and it worked out great i had read to many reviews on the avon kabuki brush so i didnt even bother...it looks and feels just like bare minerals the only thing is I have to buy two colors to get it to match my skin i know i said i would repurchase but am i better off just buying bare mineral instead of two avon minerals?..lol..anyway i think it gives great coverage dosn't fade (even with my super oily skin!)or get darker, the only tricky part is finding your correct shade unless they have samples for you to try its a gamble.

A little tip from an Avon rep... I've used many high dollar mineral makeups & the trick is not the foundation as much as the brush. If you use the Avon brush, it'll look horrible. If you use the short, fat kabuki from BE, it'll look great. And if you use the BE concealer brush, you can also use it as your concealer. I use it that way every single day and it looks no different than the more expensive brands.
And if you still don't like it, you can always return it :)

I am an an Avon rep, but am 56 yrs old and have not used the minerals because I thought I needed more coverage. Had a customer not pick up the Avon Minerals and I decided to use them insteaad of returning them. I'm hooked- so easy to get right, as long as you know a little goes a long way. I definiely recommend a primer for older gals. Am going to buy some BE minerals, just for comparison, since I'm retiring from Avon(not a good company to work for). But unless the BE are 100% better, I'll buy the Avon again. It goes on sale for $7.99 every couple of months.

I love this foundation. I have oily/blemish issues, and find this stays on all day, i blot with an oil control tissue midday, and dont need to reapply. it does not cause me to breakout, either.
Coverage is great, flawless and does not settle into fine lines. When applying- less is more- you need a light touch , make sure the powder appears on the brush as dusty, not clumpy- then you will have the best results.
i do not use a primer of any kind, but may need to in the summer.
the colours I agree can be a bit off. I purchased Nude, as it looked very light in the brochure, however, it was too dark. I now mix it with a lighter shade, ivory, and its perfect. please remember to clean your brushes weekly, to avoid buildup and bacteria.
definately will repurchase, the minera eyeshadow is great too, lasts all day, even with oily lids.

I'm not too sure about this product...It might have been nice, had i bought it in the right shade. Right now i use it as a bronzer because im very fair so it ends up being nice, but i find that it doesnt blend very well.

A few months ago when I ran out of my BE Mineral Foundation, I figured what the heck, I'll give this a try. At 1st I really liked it & for the price .. I thought forget BE. After a month & 1/2 I realised that not once had I recieved a compliment from my gal pals that my make looked nice, since I had started wearing the Avon Mineral Foundation. Then one day I saw my face in a magnifing mirror & was like OMG! My face looked like it was screaming "I'm wearing a ton of foundation". It really does fool you at 1st. It applies extreamly well but it looks so fake.
I'm so done with this stuff & my BE foundation should be arriving w/in the hour & I can't wait to go back to looking natural!

I use powder foundation because of skin and eye sensitivity. I never got to find out if I was sensitive to this or not because the coverage is sooooo heavy, even with trying several different types of brush, that I gave up and tossed it. One of the appealing things about powder makeup is the potential for a very natural look, something almost impossible to get with any other foundation type. BE and Physicians Formula both give me no allergic reaction and can be applied to give different level of coverage, from light to heavy. This cannot. This is only going to give you very full, heavy coverage and does not even look close to natural, in my opinion. For the price, youi've not got much to lose but I recommend using an Avon representative so that you can be sure to get the correct shade the first time.

I used Bare Escentuals for years, but when Avon came out with this and the price was considerably less than BE, thought I'de try it. I really can't tell the difference between the two brands. I do think the Avon is less shiny, which I prefer. So Avon is well worth trying.
