I was originally going to give this four lippies, but I think I've just come to have very high expectations from Alpha Hydrox. Such a great brand!
These pads don't leave my skin dry, as I had expected them to. Quite the opposite, actually; I'm so glad I don't have to worry about these making my skin all tight and dry.
I used them every other day before bed, but you could really use them at any point in the day because they don't make your face red (what a nice surprise!)
And I have to say that they've definitely evened out my skin tone, far faster and more than I ever thought possible. It stings for a little after swiping it over your face, but it's not unbearable and it definitely doesn't last, so I don't mind.
The price is kind of annoying but it's worth it; the packaging could be a bit bigger, I think, because it's difficult to pinch one out. But these are such trivial complaints c:

Apparently I am allergic to something in the two Alpha Hydrox products that I've used--the 14% AHA Swipes and Res-Q cream. The Swipes caused a rash everywhere they were used (back of hands, arms, face, neck & decollete) that only went away when I started taking OTC Zyrtec (antihistamine). I returned that product to Ulta for a refund.

I had also bought Res-Q cream which I'd been applying just to my deepest wrinkles & had had no problems with it until I applied it to my whole face. The next morning I woke up with severe puffiness (think marshmallow), itching, and redness. After one trip to Urgent Care and a prescription of prednisone, I feel better but have decided that Alpha Hydrox products are not for me.

(I don't normally have sensitive skin, but there must be something in these products that I am highly allergic to.)

These are fantastic! I use a pad maybe once a week, and I find it very effective. I use it after I feel like I sweat more than usual or just need a good "cleanup." After I cleanse my face with Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel, I swipe this on very gently and leave it at that.
It can feel rough on the skin, so it's best to use light strokes. There's a lot of product on each pad, which allows me to swipe the rest on my back and make the most of it.
My skin looks/feels great the next morning. I used to have an acne problem, but I swear switching to the Alpha Hydrox products has changed all of that. The brand is AMAZING. I also use the souffle and oil-free treatment.

Love these. I am currently using the Oil-Free 10% formula 2x a day. Some nights, I use the 14% pads instead. I try to only use them when I need an extra exfoliating boost. The first time I used these, my face itched a bit, but it went away in a few minutes. The second time I had a tiny bit of itching. Now, I barely notice I am using it. I have never had as much success with any acne-prone regimen as I have with Alpha Hydrox.

These pads are a great product! (The reviewer below that received a dry batch should have been issued a replacement batch, imho.) I love that I can do my whole face, neck, decollette, AND the backs of my arms with ONE pad!! I do experience stinging--but only "normal" stinging from an AHA product, and I have extremely sensitive skin. I was desensitized to the MD Skincare peel pads, so I think that the concentration in Alpha Hydrox Swipes is stronger. In 3 days of use, I have a noticable change in skin clarity, a HUGE reduction in oil production (I have freakishly oily skin), and I now only use these pads once daily--instead of using AHA products twice a day. I'm impressed!

I'm comparing AHA pads to see what works best (for me), as I'm allergic to most everything. The MD Skincare Peel Pads are great, and I saw a big difference after 3 weeks of use--but the results ceased over time, so I began using ACNE.ORGs AHA lotion (no fragrance or allergens for me--a great product!!) in the evening in addition to the MD pads in the morning. MD Skincare Peel Pads are expensive, though, and my budget no longer accommodates them. I ordered the Alpha Hydrox Swipes and Glycolix 15% Pads to try (also w/o fragrance and allergens). The price for the Glycolix is the best (60 pads for $17.50), but the acetone burns my skin (my skin is overly sensitive) and I won't be repurchasing. (Many others are able to use Glycolix w/o any issues and are very happy with it) The price for the Alpha Hydrox Swipes is approx $16.50 for 20 wipes, BUT, that's reasonable for being able to cover so much surface area. Bottom line: these Alpha Hydrox Swipes are WORTH the price, work well, and give great results! I'll be repurchasing these again when they go back on sale.

High quality and very effective. I do not use this on my face but on my body: my back and chest to help lighten a tan from the summer. And to prep my legs for a shave. And my daughter's backne from sweating under softball uniforms and sport bras before applying bp. I found it too drying for the face and I like to cut the pads in half so not to waste them. Wish it comes in a bigger jar.

I JUST received this product a couple days ago. I have a few comments about it.

A bit about my skin type: i'm half Lebanese and half Caucasian---so I tan fairly easily i don't get too dark, but I also have lots of sun damage and freckles from all the years I used to go (and still occasionally go--bad i know) tanning. I a few fairly deep lines in my forehead that I get a teeny amount of Botox in twice a year. I never break out and I have fairly dry skin that isn't sensitive or prone to breaking out.

My biggest skin concern is dullness, dryness, and the sun damage. with that in minddddddd heres my thoughts on the product thus far.

Packaging: I was concerned about the jar packaging for the swipes ( or any kind of facial product) because any "goodies" that are in it may be rendered useless after time. I researched some more and I guess that doesn't apply for AHA's. so that was a plus.

Product: Being 14% glycolic acid, there is no research on what such a high percent does to the skin if used continuously over time. That being said, I would only recommend this once a week or once every couple of weeks, definitely not everyday.

I must say after I used this product and I also put some of the 8% lotion on, my skin felt super super smooth and glowing. Personally I had no stinging and I'm excited to see how this refine my skin.

DEF RECOMMEND IT!

I switched to Alpha Hydrox products about 45 days ago due to my adult acne. I purchased the swipes after I started the skin care program. I find that the swipes are very dry, and I am not sure if I got a bad batch. I have been using this product one or twice a week, and I am not sure that I have seen any results. They are a little expensive for my budget and I am not sure that i will purchase these again.

I have been using Alph Hydrox products for about 2 months now. I use the Foaming face wash in the am and pm, I alternate nights using the 14% swipes and 10% enhanced lotion, and I occassionally use the 8% cream during the day.
I started using these products to help with my acne, but I cannot say I have noticed much improvement there. What I have noticed the most is that all of the fine lines I used to have on my forehead are completely gone. This is amazing to me, esp. because it wasn't what I was using the products for, but I am very happy with the wrinkle reduction!
I am going to continue to use and hope that my acne clears up as time goes by.
I have used some peel pads in the past, Good Skin and Avon, and I was looking forward to trying these as they have more active ingredient in them and seem to be well formulated so that they work well. The swipes come in a little jar that is very plain and not that "professional" looking, but I don't care about packaging if the product works. The first couple times I used them there was a little tingling, but nothing bad. I usually wait about 15 mins after applying and then moisturize (w/o rinsing first). I do notice a brightening in my complexion now that the initial flakiness is over. I rarely need to use a manual scrub to exfoliate anymore. These have never caused irritation or redness. I just wish they'd help with my acne...
Price is $16.99 for 24 swipes, which is very reasonable. Sometimes the Neoteric website runs buy one get one 50% off deals, which is great.
I wish they'd make the packaging just a lil nicer, maybe with the instructions on it...

This is actually my first review and I decided that this is such a great product that I must talk about it. I have been using these wipes every night for a week and I LOVE THEM! They sting a little when I first use them, but the benefits are amazing and I saw them the very next morning. My face was soooo soft and smooth. I was having breakouts for the few weeks before using this product and since using it daily the breakouts have stopped. The packaging was a little weird at first since there is no outer protective seal and I am used to almost everything now-a-days having a protective seal. Overall, this product is highly recommended by a person who is often disappointed by products. :)

as an alpha hydrox loyalist for quite some time now, i was very excited to see this ingenious new product. these are pads which are coated in a 14% AHA formula with the correct ph to be effective as well as some other nourishing ingredients. the ingredient list as a whole is fairly short and straightforward. the fact that they are oil and fragrance free was icing on the cake and i ordered them as soon as i saw them, despite the $16.99+tax+shipping price tag which, especially for only 24 pads, i found to be a little steep.

so after removing my makeup last night, i swiped one of these all over my face and neck. i had braced myself for stinging, and was very surpised that i didnt feel much of anything save some very slight tingling and a little bit of a sting on a blemish. the directions state that you only need to rinse it off if your skin is sensitive, and since i was having no reaction i left it on. about 10 minutes later, i applied moisturizer and bp and went to sleep.

fast forward to this morning and my skin is sooo smooth! no zits, no redness, no dryness, just smooth, even toned skin. i had used one on my back as well and its the same story--super smooth, soft and no blemishes. this is one of my favorite finds in a long time! i think i love these even more than the souffle because they feel more gentle and dont contain cetyl alcohol. i plan on using them 2-3 times a week and just wish they came with more pads!
