Let's just say that Forest RAin does what it's supposed to do: make you smell good and feel good. For a basic fall scent, not bad at all.
Age: 30-35 Skin: Sensitive, Fair Hair: Red Eyes: Hazel
This is a very spicy scent. It reminds me of black pepper. I have a love/hate relationship with Forest Rain. It is actually a unisex fragrance and I think that is why it is so strong to appeal to anyone. This is STRONG stuff! I like the minty aspect to this fragrance and I don't care for the strong Vetiver.
Age: 36-43 Skin: Dry, Fair Hair: Other Eyes: Hazel
One of my favorite things is the smell of sweet, cut hay drying in the field. I get that from Forest Rain. I also get a subtle and pleasant peppery note. This is one of those scents that lingers in a wonderful way. I forget I'm wearing it then something wonderful wafts my way and I'm pleasantly surprised that it's me. I don't find it masculine at all, but it's not overly feminine in that cotton candy or white floral blast way that so many scents seem to have.
Age: 30-35 Skin: Normal, Medium, Warm Hair: Black, Straight, Medium Eyes: Black
I love it! I tend to gravitate towards more masculine fragrances because I like musks and woody bases and scents that are described to be warm and spicy vs. cool and sparkling. This works with my skin chemistry very well. It can be construed as manly because of the vetiver in it which makes every fragrance take on that brisk cologne aspect, but the muguet note sweetens it up just right so it has many facets of being crisp, grassy/woodsy, spicy, and creamy all at the same time. This lasts very well throughout the day without being overpowering. It's my favorite base scent...I like to layer it with Kiehl's cucumber and coriander essential oils on my pulse points.

I really do not know what to say about this. It is one of the strangest scents I think I've ever come across and that's saying alot. I have never been so repulsed yet so attracted to a scent at the same time. At first spritz, I get Kiehl's wonderful creamy musk, but a sharp, spicy what must be vetiver mixed with lime comes to the forefront. It's odd...I don't really like it, but can't get enough of it, if that makes sense. I don't get any of the floral notes, unless they're hitting my scent blind spot. I see this as unisex, but only because of the vetiver, I think. I don't see a man actually liking this, but it is a bit "brisk" for a woman, too. Sorry to be so vague, but this is SO hard to pin down. I highly recommend testing before you buy. I did, and at first wrote it off, but I kept catching whiffs of it that were intriguging, so ended up going back to buy it. The lotion (just snifffed) seems more mellow and possibly more floral. I think layering might just sweeten it up a bit. It's a love/hate relationship, but fun just the same. Don't think I'd repurchase, but it is a special edition, so it probably won't be available forever. I couldn't find it on Kiehls website, but Nordstrom has it....it's possibly an exclusive. Go test it for fun...you never know!

So I got a sample of this stuff last time I was at Kiehl's and I honestly don't know what to think of it. The fragrance itself is easy to love when first sprayed... its very clean and crisp. After about 5 minutes or so... it kinda starts smelling very... dish washer soapy... in my opinion. I find though, that when I mix this with Original Musk, I get a really unusual yet sexy fragrance. I don't think I'd consider purchasing it though...
Age: 44-55 Skin: Dry Hair: Brown Eyes: Blue
I actually like this. It doesn't smell manly at all and I can't see a man ever wearing this, at least mine wouldn't as it is "too girly" for him. It smells just like the name..like you are walking through the forest on a rainy day. I also don't detect any musk, mostly muguet and violet. The dry down is better than the first spray as the violet seems to really come into its own. Very nice.

I needed some skincare items and since I'm watching my $ these days I headed to the Kiehl's counter. Don't know why I tried this on but now I can't get it off! It's headache inducing and smells like an airfreshener.

I got this for Christmas because I have the lotion (which I LOVE) and I thought the perfume would be nice to have. I just returned it. It's not a good smell like the lotion. It starts out pretty but dries down to smell like musky bad breath. I couldn't take it.

I am the dissenter. I really wanted to like this, as I tend to love all things Kiehls. Their Original Musk and Cucumber oils are constant staples in my fragrance rotation and have been for years. I was so excited about this, I felt like Charlie Bucket when I approached and spritzed the tester bottle of this stuff on my wrist.
BLEEEEEAAAACHH!!! OhMahGahg! This is for you if you want to smell like a MAN. It should be re-named after the popular Weather Girls disco hit, and like the song, it would probably be popular with the pour homme set. But it is, most definitely, NOT for me. I tend to prefer uni-sex type scents, but this scent is decidedly more masculine then feminine. The staying power is phenomenal...a little goes a long way. I tried to scrub the wretched smell from my wrist (see how I trust you Kiehls! dagnabbit!) with Dr. Bronner's Peppermint soap as soon as I got home and it still lingers.
So, this is for you if you like smelling like you're about to hit the disco and cruise the night fantastic. It is not for you if you prefer to stay home and read a book and/or watch the last seasons of Deadwood and the Wire.
Age: 30-35 Skin: Combination, Medium Hair: Black Eyes: Black
This is quite a decent green-woody scent. Perfect for those gloomy days, whatever season you're in. I was immediatly attracted to it because it reminded me of Clarins Eau Dynamisante, another plant-based product I like.
I'd say definitely recommended, and the sales clerk encouraged me to buy the body lotion to improve its lasting power.

One of my favorite beauty bloggers just did a post of this fragrance this week and based on her ooohhh and ahhh I left work and went right to the store. Was very lucky - the fragrance was available on our side of the Atlantic - which is good because normally we have to wait a long long time before new products from the US are available.
I must say that this fragrance did not disappoint me. It is just GRAND and fabulous. I can see this becoming one of my all time favorites. The product description which I have below describes this scent exactly the way it is. ..... A fresh, yet spicy woody blend of Muguet, Vetiver, Citrus and Musk...
I have taken one point away as it comes only in toilette and I would have prefered perfume or eau de perfume. It is just amazing that I love this so much even though I normally do not buy Eau de Toilette as I find it to be a bit watery and not strong enough. This fragrance is quite strong and long lasting.
