This is a great silver sparkle polish for layering. It looks awesome layered over gray tones. Very festive and flattering. LOVE!!

This is a very pretty and very glittery silver. The name is perfect for the colour. I agree with the reviews below: I need to put on 3 coats of this when I wear it. I wore this over the holidays and although I love it for that season, my boyfriend said it made me look like a robot. I must say I don't agree with him and really like it anyway. I probably wouldn't re-purchase only because I don't wear silver nail polish that often, but I will continue to wear it for the holiday season in the years to come. Staying power is decent, and like with most glitter polishes it does take a little more effort to remove. I haven't tried this yet, but I also think this colour would be nice to layer over other colours to give a sparkly effect.

This was re-released as part of the Holiday 2009 Loves You Snow Much collection, and it's a great silver glitter. Although it is def. a true silver, it tends slightly to white-silver, which adds to its twinkly sparkliness. It's pretty dense for a clear-based glitter, so three coats for full opacity, although it may be too dense to be the best for use as a glitter topcoat- I found that it covers the color beneath a bit too much, even with a single thin layer. Excellent smooth application. All in all, very nice!

i wish china glaze would make all the colors of the rainbow in this fashion. tinsel is much more sheer than ruby pumps or emerald sparkle, but i guess that's because the other two have a sheerish colored base. i still like tinsel a lot, it's easy to build with three coats or wear a single coat over another color. it's silver glitter, you can't go wrong.

Ahhh, Ruby Pumps and Emerald Sparkle's little silver sis! She's beautiful! I needed 3 coats of this to get the coverage (color) I wanted, but it was worth it. It *is* silver, but its not too silver if that makes sense. Its almost a white/silver and looks like fallen snow on the nail. Very festive! I have all three in the Sleigh Ride set and they're all worth it.

Tinsel is great. I have Ruby Pumps and Emerald Sparkle and I love them both, and now I love this too. If you want it to be as intense as the other two colours than you might need an extra coat, but tinsel is pretty awesome. And also, this looks stunning on top of another dark shade, and even some lighter shades too.

Tinsel is from the 2008 Sleigh Ride collection by China Glaze. It is a festive, sparkling silver glitter polish that, unlike Emerald Sparkle and Ruby Pumps, doesn't have a tinted base. It's a clear base packed full of silver glitter, therefore Tinsel requires 3 or 4 coats for opacity.
Tinsel is easy to apply and if you take the time to do the extra coat or two you'll be rewarded with super sparkly nails that you wont be able to keep your eyes off. The glitter used in this polishes is the perfect silver, not holographic or too grey-looking, nor is it too white. It's very flattering on my NW15-20 skin, although I imagine it would look great on anyone.
Because Tinsel is a little on the sheer side you would also be able to use it to layer over other polishes, which is an added bonus. Staying power is fantastic, but it's a PITA to remove. I've worn this colour several times already, and each time I love it a little bit more.
I would definitely purchase again, although I think it might be LE unfortunately.

Tinsel is a festive silver polish! It's actually small silver glitter pieces suspended in clear polish. The polish applies well and goes on smoothly. The glitter is not too sparse but needs three coats to be fully opaque. It dries to a rough texture so it's best to use a topcoat to make it smooth and glossy. Surprisingly, Tinsel doesn't look too blingy or too glittery with three coats, but just looks like a nice pretty sparkly silver. Perfect for the holidays.

This is part of China Glaze's 2008 Sleigh Ride Collection. Tinsel is a beautifully reflective silver glitter polish. It is quite sheer but w/3 coats you get decent coverage w/minimal VPL. It would also look great layered or as a sliver top coat on another polish. I added a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust so when the light hit is just right the polish looked like tinsel on the Christmas tree w/the colored lights reflecting on the tinsel. A very festive holiday look. The quality of the polish is good - it applies smoothly and evenly w/out streaking or clumping. The texture is nice as well. I really like this polish and would defnitely purchase again if it were available. The Sleigh Ride Set is LE. I paid $3.25 at Sally Beauty w/a Beauty Club card. This comes packaged in the standard polish bottle w/the standard brush applicator.

Tinsel is part of the 2008 Sleigh Ride trio. I already owned Ruby Pumps and bought Emerald Sparkle as soon as SR was released. After a bit, I decided I needed to own Tinsel just to have the complete collection. It's a really fun polish---mega glittery just like it's relatives RP and ES, though a bit more sheer. It would be ultra-perfection if it was opaque. As it is, it's pretty on it's own (3 coats) or layered. It's definitely worth getting while it's available.

I got this shade as part of the Sleigh Ride collection for the 2008 holiday season.
Tinsel is a fine silver glitter that provides adequate coverage in three coats. It would be a great shade to wear for New Year's Eve, due to the high sparkle. In other seasons, I'd use this as a topcoat, ideally over China Glaze Recycle.
There's nothing really special about Tinsel, but I wanted the set, so there I had it. I'm partial to iridescent and holographic glitters, but a standard silver isn't unwelcome to my collection.

Lovely! "Tinsel" is like the beautiful Red Pumps but in Silver. The polish color itself is rather translucent but the silver glitter is gorgeous. I applied this with three coats to make the polish opaque and then applied a coat of top coat to bring out the shine (the polish tends to dry matte)
I really think this look is quite unique, and I've gotten lots of compliments on it.
I have a love/hate relationship with this though. It's so pretty to look at but such a pain to remove. I still think it's worth it though!

Dang this is pretty! This is ethereal shimmery silver in a clear base but somehow two coats is opaque. I have tons of silver polishes but this one is unlike any other. I will definitely buy an emergency back-up. I got it at Sally for $3.25.
