The alcohol-based formulation for the marker tip is drying and using stain on chapped lips just look gross. Decent staying power, but not something I'll be buying again.

I got the YOUTH color for free, I love the Pixi line and how they are aimed at youthfulness. When I first used this, I thought I was just stimulating my lips because I got the healthiest pink color, like when you lick your lips especially in the winter. But there definitely is a color, if you write on your hand it's as if you're using a highlighter, that's exactly what it's like. You can lick your lips after to wet them after applying this because if your lips aren't moisturized, your cracked lips will have funky pink highlighter lines. It took some getting used to, definitely. I really like it now though, it's not meant to be a lipstick or even a lipstain, it just works somehow. My boyfriend kisses me a lot more when I wear this, he'll glance at me and I don't think he even knows what's causing him to be more affectionate because this product is really THAT subtle but I can't help loving it. I can see how other people would feel jipped though, probably even think they picked a sampled pen, but that's just how it is and I want to prepare anyone for it. For the YOUTH color, anyway. I think these pens are like color suggestions to your lips, unlike lipstick or opaque stains where you pick a color and you expect your lip to take it. Everyone's lip colors are different and with enough lipstick we can have the same color, but lip blush is personal, it's your lips but better. What sucks about this product though is because of the highlighter pen-ness, it stinks to carry around. You'd rather just leave it at home upside down in whatever holds your toothbrush (guilty). I don't know the price but I'm sure it's too much for this.

The Pixi Lip Blush is a lovely lip stain. I have it in Youth, and it's a gorgeous baby pink. I was looking for a good lipstain, and although it's stunning (great pigmentation, nice packaging, not drying...), I am still on the hunt for an HG lipstain, as this is pretty pricey to me, at 18 bucks a pop. I find that it tends to dry out really quickly too, but if you hold it straight when applying and just tilt your head back, you can get the product out. If this cost less, I'd repurchases. The packaging is really cute, with it's green plastic tube. If I can't find a less expensive one of about the same quality, I'll probably repurchase only due to the fact that I quite like lipstains.
Okay, found a new lipstain I prefer: NYC smooch proof stain. I still love this, but can't justify the price when I like a 4.00 one more.

I'm still on the fence...but I'm leaning more towards I will not purchase this product again. I have the shade "Youth" which is seriously the same color of a child's lips. I put the stain on my hand and held it next to my toddler's lips because I was so sure it was the same color. It is and it looks so youthful! I want to love this product, but cannot because the staying power isn't there. You also have to store the lip stain upside down so the tip doesn't dry out. There's too much work for this supposed no work stain.

I *had* this in purity. It was a great color and it lasted through two meals. I wasn't too happy about the price, but a gal's gotta treat herself sometimes, right?

I liked it up until the point the top broke in my purse and all of the product bled out. I was not too happy about that because I only got to use it for a week. Seriously, this product has the worst design ever. But the colors are great.

This is a great lipstain. It's a very nice nude on my fair complexion. It lasts pretty well. I usually wear it as a base for my lip gloss in the summer. That way when the gloss inevitably wears off, I don't have completely naked lips. The only thing I don't care for is the price. I consider it rather expensive. I find the color to be pretty buildable. It doesn't bleed either.

Overall, I'm very happy and would purchase again, although I'm certain this container will last quite awhile for me.

I have always stayed away from these lip stain products, I remember Stila had some once upon a time. Most of the colors were so over the top. I mean I want some color but not something garish, I'd rather wear lipstick for that. They had these on sale at Target for $8 so I took the plunge and bought it in the Purity color which is somewhere between nude/rose/brown. It's really great for my fair skintone and it can be applied lightly or more heavily for more intense color. My lips are so pale and I love that even when my gloss wears off, there is still some color there to make me look alive. I would love to try one of the other colors, maybe Youth, we'll see, but I highly recommend these especially if you can get them at a discounted price. I will probably explore some other drugstore lines that have these products at better prices.

I have this in "Purity"; a light pink-brown lip stain. It is very natural looking, and lasts a pretty good amount of time.

This lip stain is fantastic - I bought it in Purity, which looks like my lips' natural color they're flushed or I've bitten them :o). You can grade the color by either applying it to both lips for more intense color, or just to one lip and pressing them together before it dries for a more subtle color.

It stays in place all day and looks beautiful - I just layer gloss or chapstick over the top of it to keep my lips from drying and to give them a little sheen if I feel like it. I have found it helpful to exfoliate my lips prior to applying it so that it goes on smoothly. It's a cinch to apply with its marker tip applicator and smells like a fruity peach cocktail. I will definitely buy this again!

I love this stuff! I have the shade Purity, which is a pinkish-nude on me. Lasts all day long, which is a plus in my book because I hate when my lips get pale and I have to reapply, reapply, reapply. The only downside is that it's a little pricey at $18, so now that I found a cheaper alternative (Cover Girl Outlast Lip Stain) I probably won't buy this Pixi one again. But it's a great product!

It's pretty user-friendly as a felt-tip applicator; you can line and fill in your lips in seconds.

Make sure your lips are exfoliated and clean before applying. If you skip that step, the application will not be even. Also, it's best to apply lip balm afterwards, so you don't cause any balm buildup on the applicator tip.

There's a lot of pigment, even in the most neutral shade, which is called "purity." The color on the box swatch is NOT what comes out of the pen, however. It comes out as a much brighter pink tone. I can't imagine the other colors being very flattering for most people, so stick with the "purity" shade if this is your first one.

What I like is you can control the intensity by layering or you can take it down a notch by blotting with a tissue before it's dry. Also, I found that any oil-based lip treatments you apply on top can cause some of it to rub off, too. I tend to prefer it not at full-intensity, personally, but even with some wiped off, there is plenty of color that enhances your natural lip tone. it's also terrific for layering with sheer glosses.

If you like the full intensity, and use it on its own, it's bound to stay put for a long time. Probably at least four to five hours, on average.

Even with its staying power, it is not difficult to remove with makeup remover or towelette. Just be sure not to use a towel you like, because it WILL STAIN. It is, after all, a lip stain. It is water-based, so that should come out with a detergent if you happen to forget. :)

I love that this formula is super-easy to apply, sets quickly, doesn't require a second step, stays put, and isn't tacky/sticky or drying. I just wish it didn't have the department store price tag, but it's worth it. You'll get a lot of use out of it as long as you keep the cap on.

At first I panicked when, after a few uses, my fairly-new pen was "drying out" and not applying, but that was easily fixed by storing the pen upside-down. :) Now it works consistently.

I love this product!

I have tried so many lip stains and this is by far my favorite. The main problem I have with most lip stains is the color drying evenly - no matter how exfoliated and moisturized my lips are. This lip stain dries evenly, lasts a long time, and I really like the felt tip applicator. I tested the different shades at Target and they were all very bright except for Purity - it's the perfect shade, like a darker version of your natural lip color. I wear it every day with lip gloss over it. This is the best lip stain!

Not bad. Other reviewers have pretty much said all that needs to be said: exfoliate lips before use; product can be drying; is capable of lasting a long while, but not as long as the product states, etc.

Guess what, though! Victoria's Secret cosmetics sells a similar product for $12. They have many colors to choose from, too. They seem to be smaller, but these marker pens have a propensity to dry out (I had one from Urban Decay that was the size of the Pixi one that dried out after not too long), so a smaller one may not be such a bad idea...

These pens may relatively be the same, and preference could come down to color choice and price.

Four shades of Lip Blush are available at Target, and two additional shades are available at pixibeauty.com. I chose Purity, which is depicted on the swatch, tube and box as a “nude,” brownish color. The box recommends that Lip Blush be applied to dry, clean, grease-free lips. They claim that it stays on for three to eight hours and that one tube lasts for 100-150 applications.

The Lip Blush tube is shaped like a marker and has a felt-tip applicator like one, too. This isn’t really a new idea; this type of applicator has been used for lip stains by Sephora, Bella Il Fiore, and Avon’s mark line, among others. But I do think this is a more effective way to apply a water-based lip stain than the brush provided with Benetint. This applicator is also the most travel-friendly kind of lip color I’ve found: It doesn’t leak, melt or break easily.

You may want to exfoliate your lips before application because any dryness or flakiness will be highlighted by the stain (use a lip exfoliator or just gently scrub your lips with a toothbrush or washcloth); this also helps clean oils and grease off your lips for better staining. Application is simple: Line your lips with the tip of the pen and then fill in.

After application, the texture is slightly tacky, which worried me. But after a minute or so, the tackiness disappears. I find lip stains like this (Benetint included) to be a little drying (especially when used immediately after exfoliating), so I usually top with gloss or balm, though the oil in a balm/gloss contributes to the stain wearing off more quickly. For comfort, smooth on a bit of Smith’s Rosebud Salve. For a longer-lasting stain, skip it.

Despite the color depicted on the packaging, Purity, on me, looks dark pink. My lips are naturally pink, so this enhanced my natural lip color. I appreciate the matte quality of the stain; it looks very natural. The Lip Blush smells like a fruity cocktail, but the smell dissipates within moments. I didn’t notice a distinct taste.

If I use balm, or if I eat or drink while wearing this stain, it disappears within two to three hours. I have not been able to test it past it much past those limits (I yield to lip balm use within the hour, normally).

PROS:

* Good applicator
* Travel-friendly
* Natural, matte color
* Reasonable staying power (2-3 hours)

CONS:

* Can be drying
* May need to exfoliate before application
* Color not as expected
* Expensive

VERDICT: Though the color wasn’t exactly what I expected, I still liked the result. I wear natural-looking makeup often, so I can see myself using this pen a lot. The dryness is easily remedied, and since the packaging is well-suited to pocket or purse, it’s simple to reapply. I would definitely buy this again.

completely obsessed with this product. I bought it yesterday in PURITY, its is perfect. seriously. its a stain that stays on forever, but is easily removed with makeup remover so you dont end up with stained lips for the rest of your life. the applicator is wonderful its just like using a marker. but it comes out of the tip at the right amount, so you can adjust. I also like that it goes on matte, you can put a shimmery gloss over it you want and create your own color. I like my lipstick matte so its great for me just the way it is. I dont even mind the price, I have spent plenty more than 18 on lipstick I only wore once! so something I will wear daily seems like a steal to me!! Im going to go and buy the other colors today, yay!!

I have never seen anything like this. The name may fool you, but it's a lip stain with a felt tip like applicator. I bought this in the color called 'Happiness.' I was very excited to use this so I put it on before I went to bed. I know that is strange, but that is when I had time time to play with it. And in the morning it was still there and perfect. After my shower it had come off a little bit but I reapplied it and when out for the day. This stuff LASTS. Usually you have to compromise when you have a lip stain. You get longer color but it's drying. Well, I put this on and then some simple chap stick over it and it was just fine. No dry lips at all. The color is vibrant, and the felt like tip makes it easy to apply. The only thing is, it is a little pricey at $18. But I can't deal with that because it is a wonderful product!
