I'll start this review off by noting I'm biased towards lighter spray fragrances that may not linger as long as say, a Clinique fragrance. I say that because fragrances which linger too long and have a high alcohol content to make the scent last longer, will give me the worst headache to the point where I will feel physically ill. With that said, this is one vanilla scent that I've gotten compliments on (all from guys) because its not too strong. You do have to get pretty close to smell it. The scent is true to angel food cake, a sugary vanilla smell. It doesn't last very long...maybe a couple of hours, but then again that's what I like about it.

This is just a very mild vanilla scent. It's not overpowering or offensive. If you like vanilla and you're looking for something mild and basic, this might be the one for you. It reminds me of when I was a teenager and went through a phase where I wore pure vanilla extract as perfume. If you want to wear a simple vanilla scent, this is probably a better choice. I guess it costs about as much as some bottles of pure vanilla extract, anyhow, so if you've been wearing baking supplies in place of perfume, give this one a try.

I received it today. I was so happy. Until I smelled it and my sister said it smelled like alcohol with merthiolate =(. I tried to like it but it has no staying power. Anyway I will use it. I dont know if the other fragances have the same chemical smell.

i dont know if this smells like angel food cake (which is light and airy and smells sweet but not that discernible) or just like "something sweet and vanilla-like", but i love it. i know the scent sticks to my clothing, but i am not sure about how long it lasts on skin. okay, it is not the most sophisticated scent on the block, but every man that comes close enough to smell me isnt complaining about that. (read: men love this)

I'm so intrigued and appreciative of the neat and unique thing that Demeter does with fragrance, however, I did have the expectation that this one would smell like angel food cake! To me, it does not at all. It made me wonder if they are eating different cake than my grandmother used to make.

I had high hopes for this scent, since it's one with better reviews and is one of their top 30 scents. However, for me it only smells like Angel Food Cake when I'm sniffing out of the bottle. Once on my skin, it smells kind of chemical-y and dusty. Really not nice at all! I'm sure it's my own body chemistry, but still. Not good. I highly recommend buying a bunch of "minis" directly from the company and sending back the ones that don't work for you. They have an awesome return policy and you can swap scents out that didn't work for you.

This is a great scent from Demeter. It smells of vanilla, cream and sugar. Since this is such a light scent, I usually wear it at bedtime to smell delightful after my evening shower. I believe this has been discontinued because I purchased it from Sephora for $5! It's usually $19. SCORE!

if you like sweet vanilla-y scents you will love this.
it comes in a bottle just large enough to be used up :)
this is a nice replacement for a weak vanilla body spray.. it smells very natural, not too strong, and indulgent.

This does smell like angelfood cake, but it's a semi-plastic-y scent and I can detect notes of coconut and pineapple. I received a 4 oz. bottle of this in a set but wouldn't have bought it on its own. I wear it occasionally when I just want a light, sweet scent, but the lasting power is nil and it doesn't compare to the 20 or so scents I use in more heavy rotation. Demeter has a few fragrances that I like, but this one just isn't very memorable.

This review is for Demeter's Angel Food fragrance. I wanted to love this. I like foody scents and could probably eat my weight in angel food cake. I thought an angel food scent would be lovely. I first sprayed it in the air and liked the scent. It was light and not too sweet as some foody fragrances tend to be. I didn't get an exact angel food cake dupe. I didn't get that cake scent. And it wasn't as warm or heavy as I expected. However, then I sprayed it on my arm and it all went downhill. The wonderful dessert-like scent lasted about a minute before turning into a musty, mold-like, dirt smell that was reminiscent of the scent you get when you open a very old, molded, stored away, novel that hasn't seen the light of day in ages (I recently cleaned out the attic :)). I really dislike this musty smell. It was horrible. Interestingly, I have tried three seperate Demeter fragrances and they have all done this. Maybe it's my chemistry or maybe the store I shop at has a bad batch. Well, it saved me some money anyway.
In sum . . .
OVERALL RATING: 1. I liked the scent when sprayed in the air, but it turned into a musty, dirty scent on my skin.
PRICE: 2. I say 2 because I don't consider Demeter fragrances "dirt cheap", but they are less expensive than most perfumes.
PACKAGING QUALITY: 3. I like the little bottles and their simplicity. They are simple little glass bottles with a silver cap and a cute kitchsy label. They are similar to etailer packaging.
WOULD YOU REPURCHASE: No. This just didn't work with my chemistry.

This is certainly my favorite Demeter Fragrance. It doesn't smell that obviously like Angel Food cake, but it is light and sweet and dessert-like without being cloying or nauseating. It's a little reminiscent of marshmallow or vanilla or sugar. It doesn't last that long, but I guess that is to be expected with Demeter Fragrances, as well as with light scents in general. Unlike some other Demeter Fragrances I've tried (most notably Honeysuckle and Rain) it stays very true to its scent and doesn't change once it's on the skin for a while.

This is a very warm vanilla cake-like scent. I find that it soothes and calms me when I am planning on having a stressful day. The only thing I don't like about it is the lasting power since I have to reapply during the day. For how comforting the scent is to me, that inconvenience is very small.

Out of all the Demeter frags I've tried, this one I keep going back to repeatedly. I love it. It doesn't smell like food, it smells of warm comforting vanilla, and slight spices that make it so original. It's not overly sweet, like I thought it would be.
The only drawback to this scent is that it doesn't last long enough to get me through the day.
If only it was a touch stronger, it would be perfect. I will repurchase this.

I find myself spraying this fragrance all over my sheets, my bedroom, myself . . . it's quite addictive. It's a nice, light vanilla with slightly caramelized sugar. I agree there might even be a little bit of coconut in there but it's almost unrecognizable to me. It's delicious and nice to be near, but not overtly foody. I usually spritz my fragrance between my shirt and body and on my neck and wrists and I smell it most of the day. It lingers on my bras forever. Initially I thought, "who the heck wants to smell like Angelfood cake," but it's such a comforting scent that I reach for it all the time. I've already gone through a 4 oz, and I am going to order more. This is a very nice (none age limiting) everyday sort of fragrance.

This smells like a vanilla/coconut cake and is yummy!! It's not overpowering at all, even initially - it's quite light. The lasting power is not too bad on me at all and I can still smell it several hours later. A delicious foody fragrance, although I probably wouldn't purchase again, as Demeter make so many fascinating scents that I would probably try something else instead.

Okay, I have to admit that the first day I got this I did not care for it at all and was thinking about returning it. I decided to give it another chance and I found myself liking it more and more.
I don't know if it was the scent I was wearing the particular day that maybe clashed with this when I wore it but the second time I tried this on me it smelled so delicious! Scent is a sweet vanilla cake with a slightly burnt smell (not a bad burnt smell), I am not certain but I can swear I smell a tad of coconut as well.
I love to layer this with vanilla scents, to be honest that is all I have layered it with so far but it goes GREAT with them or by itself! Lasting power is like most Demeter's, they don't stick around for that long but this isn't gone a few minutes after I spray it either. I would say it lasts on me at least 3 hours. Even though this doesn't last hours like some perfumes I won't dock a lippie only because this isn't perfume, it's a PMU spray. I have the 4 oz bottle and I thought I would never finish it, I love this so much I spray it all the time and I will definitely repurchase this when I run out!

I was wary of this - I loathe fake vanilla and cake scents. I was given this as a gift. I sprayed it into the air - WOW! This smells true to form, just like a sponge cake. I don't wear it much, but it layers well with smoky scents.
