First let me say that I am an NC25 and I just bought this highlight along with the waterweight foundation... Its beautiful!!! Only takes a light hand...lasts all day on me with a setting spray... Thought my life was complete even though this was $32 at mac... But wait ..upon YouTube dupes for msg I saw one that caught my attention... Femme couture baked bronzer in summer kiss... Thought it was too good to be true so I took my butt to sallys to see for myself.. sure enough I saw one left ..thank god opened the two highlighters side by side ...it was unreal 95% identical in both pan and on skin.. both are baked bronzes made in Italy... For $10(femme couture) the mac sg is going back to the store.. but regardless it's unarguably beautiful and if you must use the higher version.. well by all means.. but I love finding a mac dupe when possible because mac tests on animals which is ridiculous... Did a highlight on each side and they looked identical and are both still there... Femme is a tad less glitter good for me! Definitely a dupe and I'm pleased!!!
*****If ur interested in seeing both products side by side, I've uploaded pictures of the similarities

First of all, let's get this out of the way: despite its name Soft and Gentle, this highlighter has some obvious glitter. If that bothers you, stay away. I wasn't quite sure how I feel about this initially, but used with a light hand this product is neither cheap nor garish looking.
It's also a very pigmented product so a little bit goes a long way. It's Mary Loumanizer territory pigmented. That's another thing I didn't quite expect, based on the name. It's a peachy toned highlighter and I can see it working on many skintones.
All in all, this gives a very pretty effect but it needs to be used with a light hand unless you want a glittery face. Also, don't let the name fool you; this is strong stuff.

I desperately need to vent. I am a loyal It Cosmetics girl, but I had a gift card for Macy's so I thought it would be perfect to use on some Mac makeup. Wrong. I just needed a BB cream & a lipstick, but I splurged and got this highlighter, a finishing powder, and a primer. Within hours of having my makeup on, I started getting breakouts in areas of my face that I've never experienced before. I thought it was the primer. I'm thinking it's just a combo of all of the Mac makeup collectively breaking me out bc I haven't used the primer since I had my makeup done 1 week ago. I'm going back to my It Cosmetics from today on. Hundreds of dollars wasted. After showering for the night and washing my face, I was shocked to walk by a mirror only to find GLITTER IN EVERY PORE ON MY FACE - from this highlighter. It's on my scalp near my forehead. I'm disgusted. I had to take a moment to let everyone know how horrific this highlighter is. I'm drowning in glitter, it's everywhere. And now I'm going to go use my clarisonic and pray for glitter free pores. Wish me luck.

brilliant! I absolutely love this highlighter!
I just thought my complexion somehow looks flat after I put a matte finishing powder, so I wanted to do something to give my face some depth. since contouring doesn't sound like my thing, I decided to give a try to highlighting. this was totally right choice, soft & gentle really is soft & gentle when it comes to color. when swatched, it really is peachy pink with champagne colored shimmer in it. on skin it looks like a dream - even if I put a barely noticeable amount of s&g, it already gives face a wonderful glow. very buildable and versatile - face highlight, eyeshadow, body shimmer.
I am very satisfied with this purchase.

update: when my boyfriend first saw me wearing this, he said "omg you look so beautiful tonight!" :)

I hate to hate on this product, but this shit is glittery. I'll apply it on my cheekbones and somehow end up with little glitters on my forehead. Like how does that happen? It is BEAUTIFUL, but just not finely milled enough. it is not natural. You can see the specks. I really love MAC but I feel like this product is a bit hyped. And its 32 freaking dollars!! I recommend the Mary Lou Manizer; its 24 bucks and is alot lets glittery than this. Sorry Mac. I still love you <3

I got this highlighter as a present from my sister for christmas. when i opened up the package the only down thing was that it was basically a mess, the powder highlighter had gone all over the packaging. I was first hesitant to buy this highlighter because of the rave, however many people said that it wasn't good at all including a friend of mine. however i tried it and i think it is so so so beautiful!!!! this would be the perfect starter highlighter as its not too shiny but it gives a subtle glow to the face. i would say it is more on the gold/peach side as well. i love this highlighter for an everyday look for work (it lasts all day which is another great thing). i would definitely repurchase too.

I've never been too into highlighters but I guess I just hadn't found the perfect one. This one is simply beautiful! It's a pale seashell pink with a hint of peach and fine silver shimmer. I use my MAC 137 brush (which is incredibly light and fluffy, perfect for highlighter application) and dust this on the tops of my cheekbones, up around my eyes, and sometimes down my nose and cupid's bow to finish up my makeup. It provides a lovely glow that isn't too obvious. When I first apply it I can see the shimmer/glitter in it but after a few minutes it blends into the skin perfectly, especially when I spray Fix+ on top. I'm NC15-20 for reference and I could see this working great on many different skin tones.

Yes, just yes.

Perfect for my pale skin. Makes my skin look flawless despite having severe acne scaring and hyper-pigmentation.

Buy it.

Plus - bonus, it lasts for ever, had it over a year and it looks barely used.
