This is a nice curling mascara, which I have worn for years and several of my friends now wear as well, I have worn the waterproof and non-waterproof versions, and prefer the non-waterproof version (feels nicer on, easier to remove) but the waterproof is good for hayfever days / weddings / funerals etc. The wand is a curved wand which I like and I find it is easier to apply than using a straight wand (my eyelash line is not straight, so why make straight wands????). I found this to give reasonable curl, to lengthen and open up the eye pretty well, though you will still get better curl if you use a heated eyelash curler first. It doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes, doesn't clump, doesn't flake so overall it's a winner. Doesn't really thicken much but hey, how much can one mascara do?) This is my fav of the Lancome mascara's (have used fatale (hate, hate the brush especially - short stubby grrr), ampicils (thickening, nice) hynose (tubing, ok), magicils (meh)) but am not going to buy this again only due to Lancome's animal testing stuff. If they would stop, then I would purchase again in a heartbeat.

I bought it in Hongkong at sale and it is not expensive at all
it works well, crimps very well-since I am so lazy to use lash-clip, I can truly feel it crimps my lash a little bit
but it does no help to dense at ALL.
and because it is not water-proof, if I swear, I will always have black eyes like panda.

I have straight, fairly short and thick and pretty dark lashes (compared to my fair skintone), and I'm maybe the laziest person in the world when it comes to using a lash curler, so I need a lengthening AND curving mascara. No volume effect needed - that just makes my lashes clumpy no matter what I do. I had high hopes for this mascara but unfortunately it let me down big time. Made my lashes clumpy, the curving effect was minimal, the brush was uncomfortably scratchy and the mascara dried way too fast both during application and in general. Lousy value for money, simply. Maybelline's Sky High Curves does the job ten times better and I get three of those for the price of this one.

This is not the best, nor the worst mascara I've tried. It has a good separating quality to the brush, and the product goes on evenly without clumping... just a little heavier than I'm a fan of... but it still looks nice and stays put. The big problem, for me, is that it really irritated my eyes. At first, I thought I had just gotten a litte in my eye when applying, but the watery, filmy sensation never went away the whole time I had it on. I equate the feeling to what my eyes feel like at the end of an office day (from staring at a computer for 8 hours in nasty florescent lighting). If you have tough to irritate eyes, this may work for you. Next, please.

This is my HG mascara. Just perfect - nice looking lashes, with a bit of curl and body - plus no smudging. Natural enough to wear every day to work, and if you curl and add a few coats, great for night time wear too.
I can't believe they've discontinued this. I went through many mascaras before I found one as good as this.

I really like this mascara because it really does lift my straight long lashes. It doesn't exactly curl like in the mags (or the eye lash curler look) but it lifts, define and separate. It does not clump, flake or stick together. I bought it off ebay for about a third of the price in the shops so it was a terrific bargain, but otherwise I probably wouldn't buy it because it's quite expensive.

I didn't buy this. I got it as a GWP because my HG foundation is Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra right now for the summer. It didn't really do anything at all but darken my lashes and SLIGHTLY lengthen them. Although, one good thing I will say about this mascara is that it doesn't smudge at all throughout the day and most mascara's smudge all under my eye - even many waterproof mascaras. Maybe if I had longer, thicker lashes this would work for an everyday mascara.

First and most important, if you are a fan of Flextencils, sad and sorry to tell you, it has been discontinued. But I did like it a lot. It isn't going to give you long, full, or dramatic lashes, but it is nice for building with another mascara or for an everyday simple look. If you are or were a fan of Flextencils. Lancome recommends a similar product: Courbe Virtuose.

I've been using lancome mascara since ages ago.. Cos my big sister recommended it to me and since then i fall in love with Lancome mascara.. The one that I'm using now is this particular mascara.. The only thing that a bit annoying is that i have to use eye make up remover to completely remove it.. but other than that.. i just love it.. :)

In search of the "perfect" mascara, I have tried an array of individual mascaras before deciding which one was just the ultimate mascara for me. A friend of mine gave me a sample of "Flextencils" mascara by Lancome in black and insisted that I try it, as it was to be discontinued. What I loved about this mascara was the fact that you don't need to coat your lashes repeatedly, to achieve a dramatic look. In fact, using too much can actually cause a reverse effect. This product is fluid and creates simplicity using moderate enhancement and quality. This mascara is a full extension curving mascara, with a minimal effect for those individuals looking for a modest medium to lengthen and strengthen the natural lash. What I loved most was the fact that this Lancome mascara did not rub off nor smear. I do NOT recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a dramatic lash or anyone who is not willing to spend at least $20 for a mascara. However; I do recommend this product to individuals who are in favor of simplicity and want to achieve an enhanced, yet natural lash. Also, if you are looking to spend at least $20 on a mascara, Flextencils mascara by Lancome is your mascara.

In general I wear almost all Lancome Makeup. It just suits me. I am fairly faithful to the Defincils but I got this in a GWP. It's just ok. Doesn't really do anything for length at all. Does help with separation if that's your problem. I'll use it to carry in my purse as a touch up, but won't buy the full size.

This mascara was just okay for me. It's actually the first department store mascara I've tried. I think it did a pretty good job of lengthening, but it didn't seem to last any longer than my drugstore mascaras and of course it didn't hold the curl. I didn't have issues with flaking and I did appreciate it that the mascara never clumped. I didn't realize it had been discontinued, but if it had not I probably wouldn't buy it again anyway. The performance didn't justify the price.

Amazing for seperating and lengthing but not so much for volume. That's why I only use this mascara in the daytime for a more natural look, but when i need great lashes in the evening i use this first then layer it with one of the more volumizing mascaras. I would recommend buying this product if you want realllyyy long eyelashes, not thick.

I got this in a sample size, so I can't complain too much. I've never been impressed with any of Lancome's mascaras. I've tried most of their formulas, and they are very lackluster in my opinion. The flextencils (now discontinued) was no exception. It did a nice job of darkening my very pale lashes, but it added minimal volume and almost no lenghtening/curling. I think, like most brands, Lancome makes a few good products here and there, but I don't know why they are so popular for mascaras - perhaps it's the hype, but I will most likely not purchase any mascara from them in the future.

Yes, I would buy this again...if it wasn't discontinued. On me, this one doesn't flake or clump. Build good thickness, length and volume with two coats. I am not sure what Lancome has replaced this one with.

Lancome has recently discontinued this mascara, much to my disappointment. You can still find it though at very few Lancome counters and also at various makeup outlets. I really love this mascara. I do find that it tends to dry out faster than the Definicils, no matter how careful I am about the way I remove the brush and put it back in. I have also found that by using the CilsBooster before I put the Flextenicls on my bottom lashes, it helps a great deal with not clumping. I have pretty average lashes, but whenever I wear the Flextencils women ask me if I'm wearing false lashes. They are shocked when I tell them they're all mine and then of course they ask me what I'm using. I found a great cosmetics outlet store near my home and I bought the last 4 boxes they had, so when these run out I will be extremely bummed out. I will have to switch back to the Definicils which is okay, it's just hard to let go of my Flextencils.
