Started heady and bright, softened quickly. Thought I'd like it more from the notes but it faded fast & dry down was fairly unremarkable. Slighly plasticy smelling close to the skin. After an hour the amber much more evident and the fragrance evolved to a something more masculine which I did like. Understandable since this fragrance is classified as "unisex". Doesn't seem to have much staying power. Not enough bang for the price - $168!

Wear worthy- yes if given as a gift
Purchase worthy - no due to the cost in relation to wear time & I don't love it enough to justify the expensive price

I'm not sure if Paschat and I are smelling the same thing. The White Sea sample I'm smelling could be a Montale. Except that the notes don't list it, I'd swear there's aoude in here. If I believe that there's patchouli, it's been used so nicely that it's not detectable as such. I'd describe this as dry dry dry but rich in it's dryness, a dry and smoky wood with a delicately sweet musk very quietly billowing underneath. There's a little incense feel to it, but mostly this is one of the classic, formal, old-style chypres matched to a bit of sweet musk. I can also find a way this could be smelled as unlit tobacco -- not my favorite note -- and that's all that keeps this from being a "Buy Instantly!" for me. Even so, it still works out to a 5. The bottle is unbelievably lovely.
