I went out on a limb purchasing this. I honestly didn't think it would be that great, but boy was I wrong! I love this pen! I purchased the Universal Deep color. My hair is not dyed and is a pretty dark neutral brown color. My eyebrows however, are much lighter for some reason. When I use this pen, it makes my brows match my hair and doesn't look too made up and unnatural. I do recommend, as another reviewer said, to keep it in something standing up. I keep it in my glass container standing up along with all my other liners and shadow pencils. You still must use a light hand and small strokes along with a brow brush to achieve a natural look. My issue was that the beginning of my brows would always look too dark and fake, so I started using little dots there rather than strokes and brushing it out immediately - problem solved.

The price was a little steep, but nothing too drastic. I think I paid about $20 for this at Sephora. Before using this product, I had been using Rimmel's professional brow pencil but I just couldn't find a match in the shade. My HG was MAC's brow pencil in "Fling", but they run out so quickly. I think I was using up more than one a month with daily use. At $16 a pop, that's a little ridiculous.

I'm hoping this lasts as long as some of the other reviewers (5+ months). If it does, It'll take over the top spot as my HG brow filler.

I love this pen, I have it in the Universal Light and it does a great job of giving me natural looking defined brows. It's extremely important to use this with a light touch and to fill in your brows with small strokes or else your brows will look too heavy and fake. I actually prefer this pen when I have used it for a while because it gets drier and the ink comes out lighter.

I thought I would like a pen better than a powder. I was wrong.
It definitely makes your brows look fuller, but not in the totally natural-looking way I was hoping for.
This is a good product! It lasts ALL DAY, the color stays true, and it's lasted me about 5 months after daily use.
It's just not what I was looking for.

First off, I think the concept of a stain for your brows is much easier for unskilled to even professional makeup artists to apply. However I have blonde hair and this 'universal light shade' still seems a little too brown for my liking. it goes on heavy as an almost ink blot and i have to blend it around in order for it to look natural. Its defiantly a unique product and its very smart with its felt tip pen dispenser but its just a hassle to get a naturally full brow look without constantly blending it.

The tails of my brows vanished years ago due to hypothyroidism and I've bought many products to try and get a natural-looking brow back. This product is the best I've ever found! I bought the universal light a week ago, have used it every day and it's perfect for me. No reddish tone at all, it turns a light taupe on my skin. It stays on all day and looks completely natural. I'm surprised that there are some bad and so-so reviews. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat!

This gets a high rating from me because I haven't used any other brow products besides Anastasia's for years. I'm Asian with medium/tan skin and sparse brows that I have to fill in on the ends and I've been using the brow pen in Universal Deep for years. It deposits just the right amount of tint evenly where I need it and the color works great again my skin and hair color. I used to use her double ended brow pencil but the pen is much easier and faster to apply, and it looks much more natural than the pencil. They also last a really long time (months) and I've never had one dry out on me before. The only thing is the price, $21 (US) is lot for a brow pen so if there's a good dupe, go for it instead.

Tip: I keep my pen standing up in my makeup brush holder so there won't be a huge amount of color at the tip when I'm ready to use it.

It's like a lip stain for brows, basically. I'm pretty happy with this so far, having tried half a dozen different brow products while I wait for mine to grow back after yet another over-tweezing episode (*sigh*). The Universal Deep is a bit more red than I'd prefer but since I changed hair color to a chocolate brown with highlights, it works better and now the Light shade seems too ashy or greyish-brown in comparison. Either way, I didn't want to look like I drew my brows on with a Sharpie- my main fear with this type of product. This is one of the few brow products I've tried that looks believable (keep in mind I have bare spots to fill in, not just evening out or taming what is already there). Most powders, pencils, creams, and even the more pigmented colored gels can look too 'flat' or harsh, or simply don't last; smudging has been my biggest struggle. This does not smudge. In fact I slept in it once by accident and only noticed minimal wear at the tail ends of my brows where anything else would have been gone. I can safely say this is one of the longest-lasting ones I have (Tarte's Amazonian Clay Brow Mousse is the other but it takes more effort to apply with a brush and only available through QVC). This also allows more control as to the depth of color you want that the other types don't. You can apply lightly for a more sheer look, and more heavily for a darker look if you go over the area again (I notice the red more with the lighter application). I also think this may have a bit of a sheen to it like natural hair does so it's not as flat or matte as others I've tried, which makes a big difference as to how natural it looks. I did knock off one for the price, as I think it is too expensive for what you get but I can NEVER find the NYX version so I went with this. I haven't run out of it yet, it hasn't dried up and no problems with the felt tip, so if it continues to perform as well and last long enough to warrant another purchase, I will likely do so.

this product is VERY much comparable to NYX "eyebrow marker". i tested Anastasia of beverly hills brow pen on one browand the NYX on the other brow and both products were exactly alike.

the Anastasia brow pen is not waterproof - it WILL wash off. it is, although, smudge proof. universal deep is very comparable to NYX deep.

of NYX and Anastasia brow pen's, none is better then the other.

Omg I cant believe all the bad reviews on this. I am an eyebrow afficiando and I am always looking for a great product. I have never ever seen anything qiute like this. It is a felt pen so the product is a semi sheer liqiud and the tip is so fine you can actually draw on individual hairs. This is great for women with bald spots or sparse brows. Because its not a waxy pencil or a powder this never looks heavy or dull, it is so natural its unvelievable, your eyebrows, but much much better. HG!

I'm a repeat buyer of this brow pen, to me it is much more natural than a brow pencil. I am dark so the darker option is for me. Very natural and you can contour your eyebrows very nicely with this. I had switched to the Sephora own brand but this has been discontinued and it was super too, a little darker which I preferred actually but very happy with this as an alternative. I believe stila also has a brow marker which I will try next, was out of stock when i went to purchase recently. I do think $21 is a little excessive in price however as Sephora's own brand was approx $15.

Love this! Solves all my brow problems except tweezing. Feather-lite and lasts all day. Fills in the sparse spots & colors the gray brow hairs.

This is my new favorite product. The tip is perfectly tapered so you can feather in tiny strokes 'beneath' your lashes to fill in the area without it looking like brow powder or pencil-like. I'm totally addicted to this thing. I see some people complain about it drying up and maybe I haven't had it long enough to see that, but even if it lasted one month, I'd repurchase in a heartbeat. I LOVE this thing. However, I only gave it four lippies b/c of the lack of color choices - the light works for me but it has the slightest auburn quality. I noticed someone with black brows said the same thing about the darker shade. So these are hardly "universal" as advertised but when applied with a light touch, it's awesome, awesome, awesome. You have complete control with this thing. Try it, you'll see.

I tried this pen when my eyebrows were falling out due to a medical condition and I found it to be too red and too sticky. It did a nice enough job filling in my brows but I had to be very careful about going over any area more than once or it made my eyebrows stick together in an unattractive way. I tried brushing them out but that didn't make it much better. I've gone back to using a powder to fill in my brows and clear mascara if I want to deepen the shade and keep brows in place.

I purchased this because I liked the idea of an 'inky' brow filler--I figured this would work and stay put. The pen itself is designed well, with a sharp pointed tip for accuracy and a smooth enough texture on the pen that it won't tug your skin horribly. Here's the downfall, the pen comes in two shades, a Universal Light and a Universal Deep. I have olive-tan skin and black hair, so I went for the universal deep. It is a very dark chocolate brown that you think would work, but for someone whose brows are naturally black, the deep brown stands out and doesn't blend--not so universal. I really wanted to like this pen, but the color just didn't work well for me. If they had a darker and maybe more black pen, then maybe it would work, but then again that might be too horribly black. I'll return to the pencil and powder, those blend better and look more natural upon application.

I've been using this for a year now to fill in my sparse, light colored brows. The universal shade is perfect and I am able to quickly fill in my brows for a natural and long-lasting look.

I'm giving it a 4 because it is fairly hard to get a dark or strong brow look with this and also becuase it is rather expensive.

Good overall product. Purchased base on MUA reviews. Thanks again, Ladies!

OMG, what a disappointment. Let me first say that I'm a fan of Anastasia brow pencils. I especially like Medium Ash, which is exactly the right tone for me (olive skin, light ash brown hair), except a *teensy* bit too red. I am always seeking brow pencils that are essentially the color of pencil lead, graphite with a touch of taupey brown to them, and always coming up empty-handed. I bought this brow pen ("universal light shade") hoping it would be similar to Medium Ash, or perhaps (hopehopehope) even less red. FAIL! I swept it on with short, light, feathery strokes, and it looked decent in the rather dim light of my bedroom mirror. When I got in my car in full sunlight, however, gaaaaah!! My brows were RED--so red I thought for a moment I'd made a mistake and used a lip stain liner on my brows instead of Anastasia's Brow Pen. Unfortunately, no mistake. I have very sparse, light brows, so the stain showed up as a clownish arc on my skin, even though I'd applied it lightly. On women with darker brows it might look fine, like a shadow underneath the hairs. Likewise, on women with red or auburn hair it would probably be perfect. But if you have ash-colored hair like me, and especially if your skin tends to amplify the red in "neutral" colors, try before you buy. I wish I'd read the reviews below before buying this one. :-(

This is my HG after seemingly trying every powder or pencil I could find. I have sparse and non-existing areas for some unknown med. reason. I don't try to draw in little hairs..I just gently swipe this on. I might ad a powder if I can't get total coverage. It sinks into your skin like a magic marker... .doesn't sit on top. I have both the colors and I think the lighter is best for me. Edit: 8-15-10 Stopped wearing this..just didn't work anymore..found something better. Still looking for my HG.

I bought this because I was tired of using powders and pencils and thought this would look and wear better. I have very light eyebrows and the universal light shade isn't so universal, it actually has a reddish tint to it and looked very harsh against my skin, especially in sunlight. Other than the color, I liked the feel and application of it. If another light shade was introduced, minus the red tint, I'd consider trying it again.

I have the deepest shade of this pen and I love it! My brows are pretty dark, almost black but not quite and even though the pen isnt an exact match to the hair color, it still looks very natural. My pen doesnt show up reddish at all on my skin like with other reviewers. I dont know if that's cos my skin is tan or what. But my brows are of medium density and whenever I use powders or pencils to fill in the sparse areas, it always looked weird/too clown like even when I chose a lighter shade. With this pen, I can draw on hairs and fill in gaps and it looks sooo incredibly natural!!! i'm so impressed with this product. it leaves a subtle sheen to my brows, whenever I'd use powders or pencils they would look dull and powdery. will def buy again.
