This is the best foundation I've ever used. I have dry skin with scaly eczema on the forehead and by the nose and all foundations makes me look worse. The finish is dewy but not wet and the staying power is very good on my skin and I never use powder. I have the shade 202 soft beige which is too pink for my nc20 skintone, but I make it work because the finish is so nice. I just warm my skin up with my Tom Ford terra powder afterwords. The coverage is medium but it's buildable without looking caking and unnatural. The finish is polished but natural. The only downsides of this foundation is that you have to use quite a bit of product and the colour range is very limited, there are too many dark and cool toned colours.

Let me begin with saying that I'm 17 years old and that this is the first foundation I ever purchased about 1,5 years ago. The bottle has lasted me ever since, even though I haven't used it every single day, simply because I didn't really get hold of the entire foundation-thing when I bought it.
Nowadays I use it every day, and if I have a good skin day, I'll mix it (about 50/50) with my Clarins Daily energizer cream. If I need a little more coverage to cover up any redness than I'll just use the foundation by its own.

I have tried different ways to apply this, and have found that the Real techniques buffing brush works best for me, although I use a stippling motion to apply the foundation.

This foundation does not break me out nor irritates my skin even though it's insanely sensitive and very prone to little irritated bumps. It moiturizes my skin nicely and leaves a very natural and slightly dewy finish. I do have to powder if I want it to last all day, or use a primer underneath. If I need it to last all day (from 7am to 6pm) I'll either use MAC Select sheer (NW15), Rimmel stay matte or the Clarins Beauty flash balm as primer.

The only downside to this foundation is that the shade I'm in, which also is the lightest one available where I live, FF202 Soft Beige, is a little, little bit to dark for me. I'm an NW15 in MAC foundation and powder.
Despite this, I just solve this problem by taking the foundation down my neck, and even if it's a little dark, it blends wonderfully into my skin.

BEST FOUNDATION, by far!

I have recently started using mainly my Sensai Fluid Finish Foundations at work as a makeup artist for film and tv. I am able to build to a more opaque finish with extra layers, but only when necessary. This foundation gives me a finish that feels sheer, but evens out beautifully and creates sucj and elegant coverage that all I really need to do is powder....and yes, I use the Sensai powders, too. This is not only a great finish for foundation, but it is a wonderful way to care for my own skin and my actors. They also appreciate the lightness of the foundation under strong lighting. And the best part: their is REALLY no pore-clogging! I actually find that I have BETTER skin after using this foundation. Worth every cent!

I have combination skin (oily in t-zone) and dry on cheeks and forehead. I have tried so many foundations (Sisley Paris, Dior, Avene, just to name a few) and none of them worked. Most made my skin oily or acne prone. Sensai is the best foundation that I have ever used. It goes on smooth and looks great all day. I can't believe that this foundation doesn't receive better/more press. Try it, it will make your skin look glowy and smooth!!

Love!!

Age: 19-24   Skin: Very Dry, Fair   Hair: Brunette   Eyes: Hazel

Edit - MASSIVE props to this foundation for having NO irritants, skin damaging or any acne causing ingredients. Absolutely none! I have been extensively searching for hours and hours for skin makeup which is non acne causing, as I am striving for real healthy GREAT skin (which is currently acne prone with scars). Almost everything (even supposed non acne causing shizz) has chemicals that may cause acne - even chemicals that are supposedly safe but very very very rarely break out skin (i.e talc) - this is the only product from my very extensive research (my boyfriend is even getting irritated haha) that is full of pure good stuff :)! Also I understand why some people may assume mineral oil can break their skin out :) but no worries - it is both non irritating (meaning won't dry out or inflame) and it doesn't cause acne.

I really like this stuff! It looks really pretty on my skin - glowly, makes my skin look lovely! It offers medium coverage, it doesn't look cakey, it covers evenly, quickly and well. It does not contribute to my skins acne or make it look dry, rough or highlight pores. This makes it look smooth and glowing and it is the easiest and quickest foundation I have ever applied - I used to take about 20 mins doing my skin but with this, my skin only takes about 5 mins (to be precise!) including concealer! With most foundations I apply them, they look quite foundationy and yet they dont cover well enough so I have to go over with concealer everywhere, but this covers well, it covers scars and about 70% of new spots so it looks real yet provides enough coverage :).

The only issue I have with this is that the color oxidizes on me (I'm about a bang on NW17) so I walk around with a slightly orange tint to my skin, but as this foundation is so good honestly I let it slide...I wish though that I could correct this somehow, if anyone has any suggestions I would love you for it :)!

The other thing is that this is not as long wearing as I'd like it to be - I'd say 6 hours, and when it gets hot it comes off - but it melts off in a very natural way, and my skin still looks nice after 8 hours (but you can see my acne as the foundation has faded!). So this is really wonderful, my go to foundation - fantastic for its finish, lovely natural GORGEOUS coverage but it will probably be even better for some other girls with less skin problems/darker skin :) - so I'll give it a 5 based on fabulous quality, even if it wasn't QUITE perfect for my own needs!

Edit; This foundation generally fades off through out the day, like the coverage gets lighter - decreases in like 4 hours or so but still stays on, and looks natural, simply remedied by a concealer which is longlasting (also make sure your concealer is water based - as oil and water don't mix). But it's still great and I love it :). I'm just off to find a good demi-matt (but glowing) medium coverage long lasting foundation which is as great as this - with as brilliantly pure ingredients! Edit - I haven't been wearing powder over this, today I did (Givency's prisme - beautiful combo) and it lasted all day with only some spot coverup needed :)!

So I bought this at harrods thinking this is it, I will never buy another foundation again. But after using it for a day, it gave me tiny little whiteheads on my nose. I read the ingredients to find what was giving me a bad reaction and..................... BAM! Mineral Oil! How can a product this expensive contain the most tackiest and cheapest ingredient? Mineral Oil is a by product of petrolatum, an ingredient used to make gasoline. Some say its bad some say its harmless but I am avoiding it for good measures.

I've recently bought my second Fluid Finish 203, which tells a lot - not only because I'm a curious person and like to try new things, but also because my skin is crazy sensitive and dry. I can't just go out there and buy a moisturiser or a foundation. I have to consult my facialist, try out samples... Tiresome. This one, I love. It's just the right balance between dewy, well-covering and moisturising. It truly makes my dull and aging face glow. Ah.

Great product seriously!! Luminous and dewy with full coverage. I use this in 204 and I am an nc42. In the summer I mix 204 and 204.5 to get the perfect shade. Looks like my skin but better!! Highly recommend! Last long and doesn't slip off. No wonder this is Lauren Conrad's favorite foundation!

I've been using this for a few years now and is basically the only one I can use. My skin is super sensitive to foundations as it is really prone to flaking and the foundation can cake and there is only a hand few of foundations I have been able to use since I started wearing them, first was an old formula from body shop, not liquid, and then they discontinued it and then there was instant age rewind from Maybelline and they discontinued that one as well. If they ever discontinue this one it will take me several years to find the right foundation again like after they discontinued the body shop one. So yes, if you have dry, picky skin, use this.

I found this too rish/oily to use in the summer, but now during winter time it is nice! I do set it with my MUFE HD powder. This foundation lasts all day on me. I do look shiny by lunchtime but that's true for all of my foundations. I find the lasting power of this foundation superior to my other foundations. I wear this in FF202 (soft beige) which is ever so slightly too pale (NC 20ish) but its not really noticeable. I now want to try the fluid finish lasting velvet!

Good natural looking effecy but can be built up for more coverage. Easy to work with, I use my fingers or a brush. Already bought it twice and I'm going to get it again. I never do this with foundation but it's just so damn good. It's so easy to use that whenever I'm in a hurry I grab for this one, it's gentle on the skin ( with irriration, dry skin zones etc) and smoothes everything out iwthout looking fake. It feels light as air and has no strange smells.

It beats my Chanel and Make Up Forever HD. I also dont understand why there isnt more hype about this.

This foundation is the best I have ever tried. I have tried Chanel, Clinique, Estee Lauder, drugstore brands, Everyday Minerals and so on. I always end up buying this one from Kanebo. It has a medium coverage but looks extremely natural. I have freckles and this foundation does not make my face look unnatural or cakey (like many other foundations) at all. It evens your skin and gives you a nice healthy finish. The best thing about it is that it makes your skin look even, it covers the redness -especially my chin can be a bit red and irritated- and makes your pores appear smaller. It is also the best colour match I ever had in a foundation (I am soft beige). At first you think it's too light but when you blend it fits perfectly. Too bad it's a bit expensive, but it's worth it! You should definately try this if you have freckles like me and don't want them to disappear under a heavy layer of cake, but you want an healthy looking even skin!

Update: It does make you look VERY white on photographs. I would say this is the only downside, next to the price. However, if you apply powder on top, like Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre (which is amazing) my face doesn't turn white in pictures. Weird.

Background: oily t-zone, slightly dry cheeks, especially after I get occasional breakouts, sensitive, acne prone but fairly clear skin, some pigmentation from old scars, small pores, visible about only on my nose, some redness around nose and chin.
.
When I bought this, the seller told me that this is better to use with some other products from the same range, and I think it may be so. Some moisturizers are good with it, while some make this cake, streak, ball up and never dry. It can work over bare skin for people that have normal skin. I really disliked this foundation before I found a cream that this actually can apply over without problems.
.
I like this because it looks natural, but there is one big con for me: I have reeeally smooth skin texture - almost invisible pores, very even - my problem is a little hyperpigmentationa and a little redness, and I'm not that happy about my skin tone. This foundation makes my skin look like it has MORE texture to it - it looks more gritty because of the powder partiles(basically the opposite of what a BB cream does). I use only ONE PUMP for my whole face - this tends to look really caky and uneven on me if I use more. By uneven I mean that it patches pretty bad (especially if I brush powder over it) and rolls up in tiny balls. The coverage you get out of one pump is light/medium. You could use a concealer if you need more coverage on certain areas. You should have this in mind: if you don't get the desired coverage out of approximately one pump, you probably should buy something else. I would recommend this for people with pretty good skin.
.
Without any cream under, it works very well if you have normal skin, but if your skin is dry, it may accentuate this. It will definitely accentuate flakiness - that's a con. It's supposed to be hydrating, but I wouldn't say it does that; at max, it doesn't dry your skin out further. This isn't a foundation for the people that have really oily skin either, unless you have found a primer that works well with it (maybe one from their range), but personally, I felt this has no oil control (despite being powdery). I usually don't like to use powders, but I need to when using this foundation, especially with my regular moisturizer.
.
The colour range of this foundation isn't great - in the winter I tend to be more yellow-toned, and the undertones of this are either too pink or orange, but fits me in the summer. When I'm approximately NC25 in MAC, I use this in FF203, which has a neutral undertone. Else, I just correct this foundation with Kett yellow colour corrector to get the colour right. Review here:
http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=151847/Kett-Cosmetics---Hydro-Proof-Color-Theory-Yellow/Unlisted-Brand/Primer/-Corrector
.
Still, I have given this a 4, because this lasts OK on me, but may rub off a bit and transfers a little. This didn't seem to clog my pores. This doesn't cover all of my redness, so if that's your problem, this may not be for you.
.
I may repurchase this foundation but I wouldn't say that it's the best foundation I've tried. I would still recommend you trying it out though. You may like it.
.
UPDATE: I rebought it. At first I really regret it, because I couldn't manage to make it look good. It has been a year since I finished my bottle. Then I went back to this post and used my own tips. And they worked XD

I am surprised there has been such little hype around Kanebo products, as I find they are definately an underated brand. Although their products are on the pricey side, everything I've bought from them over the past 8 years has been outstanding quality.

This foundation is a very natural looking one, I would say light-medium coverage. If you have acne scarring, most likely you'd had to team this up with a concealer. But overall a great everyday foundation which gives a nice glow and almost looks like second skin. Love the formulation, so easy to blend however doesn't tend to last so well in hot weather unless you use a setting powder.

*aaaaah* angels singing! This is an amazing product. I've always been a very loyal follwer of estee lauder double wear, but this it is something else. I always struggle to find my shade in foundation and when I usually do the foundation will have a nasty tendency to break me out horribly!. I started using this about three months ago and I'm addicted I can't get enough of this foundation, one pump is more than enough to cover my whole face, it goes on sheer but can be built up to a full coverage. It comes with a pump so I'm all smiles. I use the shade amber beige 204.5 and it matches me perfectly, I don't even use powder anymore. Only con is it doesn't cover my dark circles well and I have to layer it but it still looks as though I have perfect skin. I don't feel it on my skin and I find that it masks my pores and lines, and doesn't settle into my under eye or laughter lines. I do find it transfers very quickly and lasts about 8-10 hours and then it starts to fade :(. I also found it works best without a primer and that patting it on with a brush gives a much more radiant finish. I will keep repurchasing this, it costs R440 here in south africa but it's well worth every penny. I wave farewell to my double wear. It hydrates my undereye area perfectly, I suggest everyone try this it truly is the best foundation I've ever come across and also it smells like silk. I rate it 5 out of 5 because its everything I've searched for and more. Now I don't get compliments on my make up but on my skin.

After using it repeatedly now, i've started to notice the coverage is becoming a tad bit to sheer for me, but i take a drop ofmy estee lauder double wear and mix it and i get a radiant finish...

So I'm updating my review this broke me out like crazy!!!! I checked the ingredients and there's mineral oil, it clogged my pores so badly.

I have a pale and very dry skin, also my skin is aging (I am in my thirties now), what makes it difficult finding a good foundation.
This foundation was recommended to me by a professional make-up artist of a local make-up and styling studio in Berlin.

I am using this foundation with the color Soft Beige FF 202 for about 4 months now. It blends in perfectly and matches my skintone very well.
Before I apply the foundation I use a normal drugstore moisturizer and Mac Prep and Prime. When using a face primer it is easier to apply the foundation and you will need less.

The foundation is easy to apply with a beautyblender, as well as with my hands when I am in a hurry. I did not try it wih a foundation brush, since the beauty blender works perfectly for me.

I have some redness in my face and slightly under eye circles. But I find the coverage strong enough, I don't use any concealer.

Since my skin is aging and very dry, I don't set it with powder, in my case powder makes it look worse, no matter which foundation I use. But even without setting the foundation stays on all day.

Allthough the foundation is a bit expensive, (40,00 Euro's in Germany, but a Bobbi Brown foundatin also is like 35,00 Euro's), I will definately buy this foundation again! I absolutely recommend this product for a dry and aging skin!

I've got dry, sensitive, acne prone skin with some scarring and read areas.
Pros:
I usually gets dry spots around my nose, but this foundation feels like it gives moist.
It feels very natural to the skin, I've gotten a perfect match to my skin tone with FF103, warm beige.
It's easy to apply since it's so light and watery.
I've used it a lot for the last couple of months and I still haven't gotten any break-outs. I've even gotten complements on my skin - never happened before - ever!
Cons:
I tend to get very shiny on on my forehead after three or four hours. (I'm hoping that it will help with some primer and maybe some finishing powder.)
I would like it to cover a little better. It can be built up a little, but I'm still experimenting on it. If you have red areas and larger scarring I think it's necessary to use concealer.
For now this is the best foundation I've ever tried, but I hope that I some day can find one who's got only pros!
