Looooooove the way this mascara wears off: "heroin chic" says my beau. It lines my lower lids with a purpley-pink colour that kinda makes it look like im either really tired or strung out -- but this is after 12+ hrs of wear. Washes off easily & looks awesome and femme. Makes my green eyes stand out & my pale skin look even paler. I definitely like wearing it on nights when i want that 90s, "ive been hanging out at this club, listening to the Melvins all night" rocked-out look. ::air guitar:: thanks benefit!

I am a huge fan of this product but not this color. I will stick with the black only because in outside direct sun lighting it films as an IN YOUR FACE violet color which is not the look I need. I love the wand, it coats, separates, and volumizes. Great stuff for me! I would suggest applying by holding the wand vertically from inner to outer lashes a section at a time. Never smudges, flakes or irritates my hyper sensitive eyes!

Absolutely gorgeous on green or hazel eyes. The plum is dark enough that with black eyeliner behind it, I don't think it shows up as purple. It's subtle. Not totally happy with how much comes off the brush; or I should say how little. I thought it would bulk up my lashes a bit more but my experience with mascaras also tells me that giving it some time to gum up a little bit (time and air) helps for more bulk on the lashes. The price is just relative to how much money you make. To me, it isn't too much money. Especially if found on Ebay or Amazon, etc.

The mascara is great but it doesn't look really purple on dark eyelashes. I would wear this everyday though.

I bought this because it was getting near time to buy new mascara (I try not to keep mine longer than the recommended three months, because I have sensitive eyes) and I decided to try something new. I've been wanting to test out Benefit products and I thought I'd start with a mascara. I always wear brown- not black, since I have long eyelashes to begin with and black is just too harsh and alarming- but I thought I'd go with plum since it looked rather subtle and purples naturally highlight green eyes.

I love almost everything about this mascara. For starters, the color is perfect- it looks chocolate brown, just like I want brown mascaras to look, but there's just this slight hint of deep plummy purple that really brings out my eyes. The brush is also perfect. I normally use Maybelline One By One because the brush is well suited to long lashes... or so I thought. The brush on this grabs every single lash, no careful maneuvers or sleight of hand required. Granted, it is large- but I don't mind cleaning up the little mascara dots along my lash line because the brush does such a good job. The formula is also ace, too- not too wet, not too dry, not too thick, not too thin. I normally have to wipe most of the mascara off the brush before I apply it, because otherwise it instantly clumps, no matter how carefully I put it on. This applies great right out of the tube; all I have to do it wipe off the mascara at the end of the wand. This also performs just as well on the lower lashes, which is excellent because even the best mascara can absolutely bomb when it comes to the bottom lashes.

Overall, I absolutely love this product. The only caveat is the size of the container. Yes, it's absolutely the best mascara I've ever used... but there's only 0.3 ounces of product. It seems like Benefit could have definitely cut back on the size of the packaging. It's a bit bulky and not very travel-friendly. It's still wonderful, though, regardless of size.

Purple mascara sounds daunting and juvenile, but BADgal Plum is the most beautiful shade of mascara you'll ever find to highlight brown/green/hazel eyes. I don't know how this would suit blue eyes, but it seems like it would work well for almost any shade.

I first tried thin mascara in the 'BADGAL black' I LOVED it! (The most gorgeous black mascara I have ever used)
After finishing it off, I decided to go and repurchase and the plum colour caught my eye.

Don't be put off by it being 'plum' it looks gorgeous! I have dark lashes, you don't really see it unless you look super closely. It's a natural funky twist on the neutral brown.

I wouldn't say This mascara give much length but it makes them look fuller and super pretty, lasts all day and even though this isn't the waterproof it stays put!

I wanted to try something different but I've always hated that blue mascara look that everyone ends up trying once.
I went to my local Benefit counter and wanted to try a few products that I wouldn't usually go for. The SA recommended plum as opposed to the standard jet black BadGal Lash. It was the same formula so it thickened and lengthened but it had a slight plum hue. I tried it on and looked in the mirror and as the SA had said, it was very slight and barely noticeable. I liked that it was very subtle and decided to buy it.
A few people noticed it and asked about my eyelashes which I thought was nice and different.

It wasn't until MONTHS later when me and my boyfriend went on a weekend away and I saw in some photographs, that in the bright sunlight, my eyelashes were shockingly VIOLET. I couldn't believe I had been walking around with this stuff on. I don't know how I didn't notice, I do my make-up in a mirror infront of my window every day but I had never seen the mascara looking so BRIGHT.

Needless to say, violet eyelashes were not the look I was going for and this mascara was never worn again.

The formula itself was quite good, but not curling enough as I have long but poker straight eyelashes. I wouldn't repurchase due to the lack of curling power and the luminescent colour.

This mascara was disappointing. Even with primer, the mascara is hardly noticeable unless I apply three or more coats. The plum color is more red than violet, with the end result of making my eyes look bloodshot. I think a more blue or violet-based plum color would have had a better accentuating effect on my brown eyes, but this red-based plum may work for other eye colors.

The formula was dryish and clumpy; each coat neeed to be combed out to seperate the lashes. The only thing it does decently is wear well, and if it does smudge, the smudges are less noticeable than those of a typical mascara. But it's not worth the money and I definitely will not repurchase it.

Nice enough mascara but the plum is barely noticeable on my black eyelashes.

The packaging felt cheap and the wand was too long and flimsy.

Expected more from a £16 mascara.

I LOVE this mascara! Read a review of it in some teen fashion magazine in high school, so I bought a tube and have been hooked ever since. I have dark lashes so the plum tinge is very subtle, and it really makes my eyes pop. It's not like a miracle super lengthener or plumper or whatever, but it adds enough volume to just make the eyes look pretty and still natural. It's definitely my everyday go-to mascara. For fancy nights out or special occasions I would probably use something different, but for day to day looks this is my favorite.

I was in Douglas when I first saw this product. I have a weakness for Benefit products and mascaras, so it caught my atttention. The packaging is of course very pretty like all the Benefit products, and the plumish violett colour is also very pretty but unfortunately you hardly see that pretty colour when applied to eyelashes. I have blond hardly coloured lashes, if I can't see the colour, then how would people with dark eyelashes see it?
Maybe usefull as a Brown mascara, but I wouldn't pay 22 € for a regular brown mascara.
Nope I will not repurcase it.

I really wanted to love this. I have the original black Badgal and the waterproof and those are my babies so I figured the plum would be cute. Same formula as the original, same brush, same results. So what's the problem? The purple didn't even show up on my lashes! My lashes aren't even that dark. I couldn't even see any purple in the sun but when it was time to remove my mascara the cotton ball would have purple all over it. Its a little upsetting because I was so positive I would fall in love with it and that it would look gorgeous. Sad face! It's going back :(

Meh! It did nothing for me. BTW, was it Plum colored? I guess so, you wouldn't be able to tell, in all honesty.

Love this mascara! Everytime I wear it I get compliments on how great my eyes look&that they are popping (I have hazel eyes but this really accentuates the green). I don't find that it looks super unnatural. TIP** I put two coats of Badgal plum then one coat on the last 1/3 of the lash with Benefit's "They're real" this really makes my lashes have a WOW factor. Only downside is you have to be careful when getting the inner lashes as the brush is gigantic

I had a mini tube of this. I actually like this formula better than the black one!!! It gave me huge lashes!! But idk what I was thinking... I thought the plum would make my brown eyes pop but it just looked kind of off on me... Let's be real.. Black eyelashes are what I want. The blacker the better!! The color of this is not a bright purple I think it actually looks just like the color of the tube. If you want an alternative to black lashes try this!

You can tell it is purple when you wear it. I wish they would make one that is a darker, subtle purple. It does make green eyes stand out, but it doesn't look natural. The BADgal formula is nice though. It seems to lengthen very nicely, but volumizing and curling is just average, for me.

I am not impressed by this mascara. I have to stop listening to sephora's salesman! They always give me bad advices!
Anyway: how could they thing that such a gigantic brush would work? And what about the formula, I have to apply three coats minumum to have a decent effect. This is such a shame because the colour really rocks!

Okay, I LOVE mascara, but I normally wouldn't wear any colored mascara. I bought this, however, on a whim one day and I'm so glad I did. One of the best mascaras I have ever purchased, it has become my new daily, go-to mascara. If you have brown eyes, it gives them a subtle, sleepy-eyed glamour, without looking costume-y in the least. I was afraid, since my lashes are already pretty dark, it wouldn't emphasize them enough for my taste, but it totally did. If I had to name a con, it would be that I think the tube dried out a little quicker than most of my othe rmascaras. Otherwise, every brown-eyed girl should own a tube of this :)

I think this mascara is a lot of fun. I do like the purple color. In my opinion, my lashes looked great. I actually really like the brush. It doesn't look like anything special, but it was really effective. This makes me want to try Bad Gal in black. The only down side is that I usually don't buy HE mascaras.

For years I used pretty invisible mascaras that only give the barest indication you put them on at all. Then I tried Bad Gal and now I can't go back to the other kind. It smudges like hell by the end of the day, but because its plum, you don't really notice that much. It is a bit clumpy, for which I have knocked off another star, because even with very careful application, I've never managed to get it to go on smoothly. But, I've got to say, regardless of its bad points, I absolutely love this product. Thanks Benefit.
