My favourite brownish eye pencil. I like the fact that it has some subtle glitter in it. The colour is strong but not matte like, teddy which contrary to most reviewers IMO is not a magnificent eye pencil as far as colour is concerned.

Impulse purchase alert. Haha, yes I had no intention of purchasing makeup but alas I was suckered into the store and purchased this. The MA showed me it and was raving about it and I guess I was easily seduced. I like the glide of it, effortlessly smooth which is a huge PLUS... hence the name Pearlglide. Spare Change does stand out and pops with my dark brown eyes! Not so much brown, but coppery like a penny and I would say tons of glimmer when I wear it. I only grace it along the water line since it does pop. I wanted Black Russian but it was out of stock... I'm happy that I purchased it, when I want a change I wear it. Has lasted me over 2 years now.. I don't think I will repurchase though but then again I might not have to since I'm not running out. It was a limited edition but you know MAC brings them back every two or three years....

I have been lemming and in search of this eye liner for quite awhile now. Let me just say that it is one of the most striking eye liners I own and I own a lot. Of course it has to be LE but if you can get your hands on this gem, go for it!

OMG, this is one of the most beautiful brown eyeliners I have ever seen, no kidding. When people say "pictures don't do justice", it's true because you can't appreciate the little microglitters in these pencils. Spare Change is a light bronzey colour with a orange-gold sheen (if that makes sense). It is not the best for giving definition to the eyes, so whether you use it on the upper or lower lid, I recommend layering over a dark brown (I layer over Teddy Eye Kohl, it's beyond gorgeous; you can layer over Molasses too!) or even a black... really makes those glitters catch the light. I can see this working perfectly for blue eyes but it's really beautiful on someone with dark dark brown eyes like me too! Very long-lasting and glides right on (though not as soft as UD 24/7s). Please re-release these again MAC!

a warm coppery brown that glides on like a dream. great lasting power, great quality just like the rest of the pearlglides. looks great paired w/ a neutral eye...i use it only to line the bottom lid as it's not dark enough for my upper line. the hint of color and glimmer makes my dark brown eyes pop. i hope mac makes more of these in new colors!

Swore I wasn't gonna buy anymore Pearlglides, becuz the tiny glitter from a few others I bought annoyed me. (Fallout under the eye area.)
But my friend at the MAC counter recommended this color to me because he thought it would look nice with my eyecolor (hazel). When swatched, it reminded me of MAC Teddy or LM's Brown Copper kohl pencils, which I already have, but it turns out Spare Change is a tad lighter and more coppery. I tend not to reach for Teddy & Brown Copper too often, becuz they disappear on me as the day goes on, and I dislike disappearing eyeliner. But Spare Change is an improvement on both of those pencils and I have no regrets about the purchase. Spare Change lasts all day on me, it glides on with no tugging or smudging, and I don't get as much glitter fallout from this one, for whatever reason. SC appears as a medium, mildly shiny, coppery-brown on my skin. I really like this pencil, and would definitely recommend to all lovers of MAC Teddy & LM Brown Copper to give Spare Change a test drive. :o)

On me, this looks like Amberlight e/s. That's the only reason why I won't buy it since I already have Amberlight and I rarely use it. (Most of the time, I wear blue or green and sometimes just deep brown.)
I still give it a 5 because the texture of pearlglide which is very easy to apply and all the pretty glitters in it. Doesn't last long on my eyes but so far nothing does anyway.

Spare Change is midrange brown with copper penny glitter. The color has a tendency to look like a shimmery and glittery bronze but it does keep the copper glitter characteristics when applied.
The texture is similar to Urban Decay's in the way that it does become budgeproof and water resistant. That is where the similarity ends. Pearlglides can be used as an eyeliner and eye shadow. As eyeliners, they can offer a thin, thick, or smudged line. There is time to work with it before it spreads. As an eyeshadow, these pencils will glide effortlessly onto the lid and easily blended with a brush or finger. It will eventually set, leaving it budgeproof.
I do like these both as an eyeliner and eyeshadow. I find them easy to work with and very forgiving on mature skin. My mother adores these for this reason. As an eyeliner they glide on easily without tugging or sticking. When it sets, it doesn't shrink or have that dry feeling which can easily irritate sensitive eyes. As an eyeshadow, I use this after my powder shadow, I just draw a couple of thick lines on top and smudge with a synthetic brush or my finger. The glitter may seem unforgiving and for some it could be intimidating. I suggest taking an eyelining brush and swiping it across the pencil tip, take what is on the brush and line the eyes. This way there is less glitter. If you don't care about glitter, just take the pencil and draw a line on the lashline. Even as a shadow, the glitter can be easily dispersed to be very forgiving on mature eyes. It just gives that hint of glint! To remove the color, a good oil based eye makeup remover is needed.

Great eyeliner! The color is a bronzey copper (like a newly minted penny) with tons of golden shimmer (not glitter). It is soft and "glides" on the eye without tugging or skipping. It is super soft, smooth, blendable & smudgeable. But what I really like is that this eyeliner does not budge once it sets...it lasts all day on me, unlike MAC kohl liners. So, if you look the look of MAC's Kohl liners or Softsparkle pencils but hate the lasting power, try these new pearlglide eyeliners. I didn't give this a 5 just because the darker colors like Wolf & Black Russian show up better on my dark tan skintone. Highly recommend & would buy other colors in the line again.

I love how these glide on (I guess why they called them PearlGLIDES!) and they seem to last a while. Spare Change was the second Pearlglide liner I tried and I have a feeling I'm going to buy more of these even though Spare Change doesn't seem entirely unique.
The color is great for my NW20/blue eyed cool-toned skintone. It's a warm brown that has a coppery sheen to it. It supposedly has glitter in it, but either the glitter is very subtle or just doesn't show up on me, but that's not a huge ordeal. It's VERY similar, IMO to the Rich Ground Fluidline, so I wouldn't say this is a must-have if you already have Rich Ground. I do like this as a nice neutral that would work with other browns/ivories/beiges.
As I l already mentioned, it goes on smoothly and lasts as long as I do. While I don't consider this a "must-own," because it is so similar color-wise to Rich Ground, I like how it's smudge-able and easier to apply, because it doesn't require a brush.
