I use this at night after cleansing, applied with a cotton ball, to help remove any traces of makeup that might be left behind. I also feel like it helps balance my combo/oily skin, so that I don't need moisturizer. I like that this doesn't have any Salicylic Acid in it, because my skin doesn't like that ingredient in "leave on" products (breaks me out). This is cheap, smells great, and uses natural oils like clove and eucalyptus to clean and fight against breakouts. In case you're wondering about "generics", which every store seems to sell these days, they are indeed exactly the same/just as good. I always buy the Family Dollar knockoff, because it's only $2, and has the exact same ingredients.

This product is amazing! I have been using it since I was 12 and its worked ever since! It does have alot of alcohol content so it is a little strong. But other tham that, it is incredible!!

This is my HG product. I have been using this stuff since I was 15, which was 11 years ago. My mom bought for me then for acne. It worked then and it works now. I use it every night if I'm having breakouts until there cleared. Then I'll just use it every other night after that. It can be drying to the skin but I just put on a little moisterizer to help out. I recently bought this for my 14 year old niece and she loves it also. It's farely cheap. I think I paid less then $4 at my local Wal-Mart. Try it out, for the price you can't go wrong.

I love this product. It indeed refreshes your skin. I really love the clove scent, like some of the Cover Girl powders have. It's spicy and becomes more intense with age. It's a lovely scent. Anyway, I've used Sea Breeze on and off for years and its never failed my skin. Great for after extractions and facials. Will continue to buy.

I think there should be more reviews of this. My mom has been using this for a very long time and she never breaks out, her skin looks so clear. Recently, I decided to use this and I'm very satisfied. Even after washing and scrubbing my face, this still picks up a lot of dirt and makeup from my face. It leaves my face feeling soft, smooth, and clean. It doesn't irritate my skin so much unless my skin is damaged. It does have alcohol but its also a bit moisturizing. If my skin feels dry, I will just put on a moisturizer.

I also dilute it a lil bit with water so it doesnt sting ..LOve it! gives me a clear face.

Great product. I have sensitive skin (everything makes my skin inflamed!) and I recently switched to Noxzema (silly me, I bought the huge tub!) and I fully believe the switch made me break out around my mouth---but since I bought the big tub I am not gonna waste such a huge amount so I'll continue to use it and just suck it up. Then, I searched the Noxzema and a girl said she used this sea breeze over her Noxzema, so I tried it....my break outs had greatly diminished in appearance with ONE NIGHT of this stuff on my face! Nuts! I love how when you take your makeup off, use a cleanser, your face is supposedly "clean"---until you use an anstringent all over your face, and then you see all the traces of dirt still left on your face! This product is no different. The smell is GOD AWFUL (lol), but once it dries you can't really smell it. Like I said---greatly reduces the appearance of zits and cleans very well. Awesome product! :)

I picked this up about 2 months ago when I started to break out after the seasons started to get warmer. I noticed my skin was just getting really oily and I was breaking out even tho I was using the same regimen from the winter, which never broke me out. And since suing this, everything stopped breaking out. In fact, I haven't had a break out since. I also started using this on my chest and back to give thne an extra cleaning boost, just in case. I can't say I love the smell, very old people menthol smell, but it works. And I use this almost every day on my face. And I know people think this is harsh, but there are harsher products out there, like Clean and Clear astringent. At least with this product, I don't peel, but with the C&C, i peeled the next day and took 4 days just to make it stop.

This is HG for my itchy scalp.
At first when it was recommended to me I was hesitant bc I remember not liking the smell and it drying my face when I used it as a teenager. But I went out shopping for it when I wanted something to stop my itchy scalp since I do not like to shampoo often. I saw that there was a sensitive skin formula and gave it a whirl. I have not turned back since. It is NOT drying, it contains glycerin! Plus the smell disappears once it dries. And it dries quickly!
I actually dilute it in a spray bottle with 1 part water and 3 parts sea breeze. Then I spray it directly on my scalp. It dries quickly and most days I just go on with my life. But sometimes, I rinse it out in the shower.
My scalp feels clean and fresh plus I do not have the itchies anymore and I do not need to shampoo as often. I do not like shampoo because I have kinky, coarse hair that reacts poorly to the detergents and sulfates in shampoo.
In short: I recommend this highly for itchy scalps in kinky, coarse hair textures. Plus it's pretty darn cheap.

Im writing this for my hubby who has very very oily skin.
He uses it 2x a week tops because he gets dry patches on his nose if he uses it too much. I use it on a occasional spot pimple because if I used this all over my face...........I would have no face, it would fall off from the extreme dryness. My hubby who really has the oiliest skin ever can't even use it that often, it's a good inexpensive astrigent and definately for oily to very oily skins.

My mother is literally the queen of products I should try. She got this for me on a family trip to the beach when the crappy powder I was using broke me out, and it completely cleaned out my pores in the matter of a week. Recently, I decided to pick this up again to start going hardcore against my skin, as it was starting to act up. This is intense on the oil and extra skin on my face, and leaves it cool and refreshed at night before I go to bed, truly making me feel clean. Love it, its cheap so try it out. If it doesn't work, give it to the teenager in your life, they'll adore it.

This stuff i used as a kid, or at least a young teenager, so i really missed the smell. it's weird, i know, but i just have always liked it. maybe it brings me back.
anyway, i have sensitive skin, that borders on being dry most of the time, sometimes it's more normal, but i used the wal-mart 'Equate' brand that is a dupe for this & it doesn't dry me out nor does it feel harsh. maybe it's more gentle than the brand name? i dunno. i've tried both & they both seem fine to me.
I love the tingle you get from the eucalyptus oil/ingredient, & the cooling sensation after i wipe it of. i have noticed a great improvement in my overall skin texture & pores with using this & the olay total effects + blemish control. :) i'm only 21 so i should have nice skin, but stress is high so both of these products help keep my skin from looking insanely drab & tired.

Note this is a review of the CVS knock-off version. My kid brought this home and she is NOT a savvy shopper. So it's sitting there and something in me whispered "Try it. See what happens." I looked at the ingredients list and it's one that would make Paula Begoun's hair curl in fright and send her screaming into that good night. Still, I thought I'd live on the edge. Just once.
There are some things that happen in nature that science just can't explain. My skin loves this. Two months later, it's smooth, tight, and crystal clear. Granted, I have good skin: it's mildly combination and without blemishes. Since I'm approaching 47, I have a few wrinkles (no amount of alcohol, menthol, or salicylic acid will burn through those) but my skin is fabulous. Maybe it's a fluke. Maybe one morning I'll awake with red, weeping sores like I should from using this battery acid but until then, it's working. When it does, I'll still keep it around to kill bugs or whatever.
I might mention the smell of this knock-off will knock you off your feet. I'm not recommending this to anyone without a great disclaimer and that would be "I didn't tell you to do it. You were warned." But for me, this is a godsend.

Like another poster here, I remember good things about this product when I was a teen. Alas, I am not a teen anymore and my skin is not as tough as it was. I have rosacea so there is no way on god's green earth I'd let this near my face HOWEVER my back and chest are very tough and I've been using this to deal with body acne with almost 100% results. Highly recommended for body acne. Face acne too, if your face can handle it. My mother hates the smell, so don't use near loved ones. And don't be fooled by the sensitive skin label. Still pretty strong stuff.

I can't use anything with salicylic acid, and I like a toner that contains alcohol or witch hazel, because I feel like they are the ones that remove any traces of my cleanser (Noxzema) and leave my skin squeaky clean and oil free. I normally use Clinique's Toner #2, but find this to be a great, cheaper, easier to get substitute! Smells great, works great! Favorite drugstore toner!

This is for people with oily skin who can handle the alcohol. Granted this does have glycerin in it but essentially it is water and alcohol. The alcohol evaporates very quickly but it still dries out skin. This is a summer staple for me that I have been using less and less the older I get. It is still refreshing once in awhile to use on a hot day to remove all that summer sweat/gunk .

I used this product when I was a zitty teenager, and it worked well. It was also cheap, as I could buy it back then for less than $2 a bottle. Simply apply with a cotton ball and voila, your face is oil free! My only caveat is that you'll want to follow up with a good oil-free moisturizer, because if you're like me, it will dry your skin out a little bit. I also wasn't crazy about the alcoholic smell, but that fades after about 30-60 seconds, and I'm willing to put up with that small disadvantage because it helped to keep my oily skin clear. I plan to start using it again to combat my oily summer time skin.

This is one of the least successful astrigents/toners I have ever had the misfortune of buying. It smells nice, and is a cool color (blue) but thats about all the positive things about it. Plus the smell and color aren't really good for your skin. It helped my breakouts for about a week and then just increased them to worse than before. May work for others, but I would not recommend it.

I think this is the first face product I ever used. My mom bought it for me when I started middle school because she'd noticed that I'd started to have breakouts. I remember it working pretty well for me then, but I lost track of it between then and now. I've recently gotten pregnant and my skin is freaking out, so I've been racking my brain for solutions. Last night I remembered this wonderful product. I went out for it this morning and used it on my face after I showered. It stung a little where I had pimples, but my face felt so clean afterward! I hope this continues to work for me and that it helps out with my pregnancy flare-ups. Oh, and even though it's labeled "sensitive skin," it's still pretty strong.
