Made my skin break out even worse than before using the product, I never seen any results after using the entire system down to the very last drop. I am unsatisfied with this product and I will not purchase it again.

I love Clinique, how ever, this didn't work for me :( I really wish it did because I loved it, but I was hoping it would help with my acne and it got worse after 3 months. I simply returned it and they gave me a full refund which was great. Maybe when I'm out of my teenage acne phase ill go back to this. The items I had was the acne solutions bar soap, number 3 clarifying lotion and the dramatically different gel.

I HATE this product, it makes my skin irritated and red when i first tried it. And their toner is horrible and contains alcohol which is bad for your skin. Having paid so much money, i expect the quality to be good. DO NOT buy it, its a waste of money overall this product is a disapointment

I loved these! I got mine for oily skin and within a few days it'd cleared up!
I was so sceptical whether to buy this or not because of such mixed reviews but i love it, the facial cleanser was beautiful but a bit drying, the toner is amazing and i went on to buy this as a separate product and the gel moisturiser is to die for and dries super fast and leaves your skin feeling beautiful.
I see lots of negative reviews on these and i can say each to their own but i think people honestly do buy the wrong type for their skin tone, a relative of mine bought one for combination skin when she realised her skin was actually very dry months later, be careful which type you buy!

I used the one for combination dry skin (2).
2 months ago I tried the OCM method, it absolutely destroyed my skin. Since the OCM I've getting more and more pimples every week and my face is full of acne and scars. Nothing seems to help get rid of them either. By the way, I didn't have acne before.
+
None.
-
Expensive.
Doesn't help reduce breakouts/acne.
Very drying.
I only get more and more breakouts.
= I will never ever repurchase.

Love!! Love!! Love!! I live in Canada, however I came to a conclusion that the make up and cosmetic quality in the USA is a lot better - companies use different (amounts) and products based on which countries will be selling the products. I bought my 3 step Clinique set from Macy's in Buffalo, NY, about a week ago. I have always used drug store cleansers and face washes however those have always left me with more acne (yes, I have a very sensitive, very dry, prone to acne face). I bought a limited edition package 3Step Dry Combination which you can buy from Sephora.com for $63 USD/CND for a limited time. It includes 16.5 oz bottle of the "toner" which actually is kind of like an exfoliated (number 2), 6.7 oz mild face soap cleanser, and 6.7 oz bottle of the dramatically different moisturizer lotion, along with all three of those products in the travel size, and a carrying case for all those!! Great deal, got all this for about $60 USD + tax. Used it every day morning and evening and it has taken away my redness, made my face smooth and took away all of my dryness, and believe me, my face was so dry that it creates flakes which I can take off, gross. I have also seen improvements to my acne. I haven't broken out YET!! But I will make another review when I have used these products for a longer period of time. Most people will find that these products do nothing for them, that's because everyone's face has different needs and not everything will work for them. Talk to a consultant or to someone who can inspect your problem, and your face skin type. Tell them that you are looking into this product but don't want to be sold on it. They will understand. I personally love this line of products so far. Also, it is priced reasonably well. Not as cheap as drug store products and also, it isn't so expensive as some products which can cost about $100-200 per bottle. I also bought the Clinique moisture surge - extended thirst relief which I use during the night since my face gets super dry. Once again, I love these products and would only recommend them to those who are smart about buying the right products for their skin type. I will definitely be buying more of these products if the results stay the same :)

No, no, no, this is not my friend. I have bought this twice, once as a teenager and once as an adult. As a younger girl, I felt I didn't need to spend money on cleansing and moisturisers, my skin was perfect anyways. Used it up and went back to buying whatever was cheap in the supermarket.
As an adult, I bought it because it was on sale, and I was out of both products and cash. I should have just gone and bought something home brand from the cheapo shop, this did nothing. It didn't ruin my skin, give me a rash or turn me into an alien, but it is not at all worth the money.
If it is your first time buying brand name beauty products, I can see why it's easy to fall for this. The bottles look "real", sleek and buying an entire line in one go is easy. The fact that this line is so well known is probably a large selling point for many. But, remember the first time you heard about the Clinique 3 step system? No? That's probably because you've been vaguely aware of it your entire life. As far as I know, they haven't changed it. When you are in the market for a new "system"- shop around, get samples from different brands and talk to the staff at the counter.
Chances are, you will find something that works far better than this. And if you've already spent money on it, no biggie, using it won't affect your skin at all.

NO, NO, and NO. seriously... i tried the acne 3 step system and the SA sold me so hard on it that i dished out lots of money on this product. the cleanser was a complete waste of time money and life. the toner was useless too. it did NOTHING i could have used soa p and water for a better result. such a waste. do not fall for this. watch acne products favorites and fails by wjmalique and she has to say the same thing about it. she will tell u what actually works

I have been using this system for about 2 months now, so I think I am ready to write a review. I first tested it out at a friend's house and was very impressed with how soft, smooth, and non-oily it made my skin feel, so I ended up buying the number 2 system (for combo-dry skin. Yep, I'm oily, so I messed up) In spite of this, however, I have found that this system keeps my oil at bay just fine.
Pros:
-It controls my oily skin and did not cause breakouts
-I really noticed a difference in my skin, especially when I first started using it. It was softer, way smoother, clearer, and somewhat more even (I have lots of redness)
-The pump bottles are very convenient
-It wasn't THAT expensive ($60 or so for the 3 full-size products and the only one that I have really made a dent in is the cleanser)
-If I do get any little blemishes popping up, I be sure to put a bit of toner on them and they fade away quickly.
-I think the toner feels really refreshing on my skin
Cons:
-It can be a bit drying, so it might not be the best for dry skin. Even with my oily skin I like to give my skin a little rest from it once in a while and use a different product (I'm a bit odd, but I believe in doing this with all skin and hair care products)
-It did not take away all my redness, but I don't remember ever being told that it would
So I think I might be in the minority, but I will continue to purchase these products. I would probably not recommend them to anyone with dry skin, but for me they work quite well.

I've seen a lot of bad reviews and my best advice when trying anything skin care related is to a) try samples or travel sized or b) keep your receipt just in case.
I tried this system back in high school and I remember it worked for the most part and then I couldn't afford it anymore (For the record I bought the smaller size of everything and the bar soap and it came out to about $45 at Macy's. the sales lady said that large size of everything was only a dollar more but I'm still trying out this system).
I got a sample of the three step system with a Sephora order and I've been desperate to try something that will help get rid of my milia (little white bumps, also known as baby acne) After two days with the sample. My milia was about 80% gone I kid you not. I'm going to keep on using this system. I gave it a 4 because its not completely helping my redness but it is going away. Also, the lotion is a little smelly but it goes away.

I've been using this product day and night for the past 3 days. I saw a big difference from the very first use. I have a very oily t-zone and a dry, flaky chin. This system keeps my oil under control and gets rid of my dry skin without the need for any scrubbing. It doesn't irritate me! My skin looks healthier and tighter. I absolutely love this system.

Edit: Okay, so it turns out my sensitive skin does not love this system. It is not a horrible system, but I think it is better for oilier skin types. I found it was not helping my sensitive skin, but in fact, making it more sensitive. I have since moved on to Vichy skincre and am quite pleased with it. I have given Vichy a month and my skin has never looked better!
My skin loves this system! I use the mild facial bar soap, the 2 clarifying lotion, and DDML. This combonation of products is so reasonably priced and effective! The best ever. Also, my skin is so ultra sensitive, and this system gives me no problems.

I used this stuff on and off for about 2 years trying to make it work for me. I was kinda obsessed with the idea of this system and the perfect skin it was supposed to give me. I tried all possible combinations and levels.
My skin is very sensitive and normal/combo most of the year (tiny bit more oily in the summer and drier in the winter), so I did use level 2 for the most part. I had pretty much the same result no matter what level I used... Irritated red skin with tons of little bumps all over, but mostly on my chin. It was awful, but still I kept trying to make it work. After about 2 years of this I decided that enough is enough, this is wrecking my skin (and confidence, I didn't feel very pretty...) so I threw it all away in the trash so I wouldn't be tempted to use it again.
This is how the levels worked for me:
Level 1: Probably the one that worked the best for me sensitivity wise. My skin wasn't red, but it was very oily so I broke out a lot. Bumps on chin still there.
Level 2: Very red face, but nice moisture level and no breakouts. Bumps on chin still there.
Level 3: No breakouts, but very pissed off red waxy looking skin. Bumps on chin still there.
Level 4: Same as level 3.
All in all, it isn't a bad system if your skin can handle the harshness of it. For me, the only good things about this system was how it kept the worst breakouts at bay and how nice the packaging looked in my cabinet.
Wouldn't touch it again..

The face wash hasn't done any miracles for me. The toner takes off the dirt but does not effect my acne at all. And the moisturizer/ gel is absolutely effective it has a very nice consistency and makes my skin baby soft.

I've seen many comments about the 3 step program not being right for people, the best thing to do is go back to the Clinique counter and have a full consultation with the consultant. All consultants are fully trained to help clients with skin care issues even with products they have already bought from Clinique. Sometimes it may be the wrong Clarifying Lotion or Liquid Facial Wash.
Personally I LOVE the 3 step, I use it morning and night and have felt a difference in my skin tone and texture. I know when I haven't used it!
I would never use Clarifying Lotion 2 as this has menthol in the ingredient not many peopple are told this when purchased so if it feels like it's stinging then it's working. Unless you come out with an allergic reaction then this product is right for your skin.
If you are having any sensitivity to the Clarifying Lotion then use the Mild version, it only comes in 200ml but it's worth it as you are still getting the benefits of using a Clarifying Lotion.
And finally; Clarifying Lotion is NOT a toner - it is an exfoliator. It sweeps away any dirt, oil, debris and any dead skin cells leaving the skin fresh for good cell turnover leaving a more radiant looking skin.
For an every day skin care solution, Clinique 3 Step Skin Care system is great it cleanses and reinstates the moisture barrier daily leaving skin feeling fresh and rejuvinated. If you feel like it is not working for you tell your local Clinique consultant that's what they're there for because Great Skin Can Be Created!
Any Questions about ANY Clinique product feel free to ask away! More than happy to help.

After hearing all the rave about Cliniques 3 step skin-care system, I thought I'd give it a try. I really wanted this to help smooth out my skin but unfortunately, it didn't benefit me at all. I previously had tons of Microkystes all over my face, which I mostly got rid of with Garniers 3 in 1 Anti-Imperfections Wash-Exfoliator-Mask thing, but I just needed something to smooth the overall texture of my skin, and I had tried the 3 step system in hopes of just that. I tried it for 2 months to give it a fair trial, and I hated it. I have Normal-Combination skin prone to imperfections (not necessarily acne) and uneven-ness.
I did like that everything came with a pump so it was very sanitary and easy to dispense. However, after 2 months of using this product, ALL my Microkystes came back. Why? There was so imperfection-treating ingredient in the wash. Needless to say I was highly upset to have to now go through getting rid of these Microkystes AGAIN! I will keep using the Clinique Clarifying Lotion in number 3 though, as I do love that, but the Mild Wash and Dramatically Different Lotion have been returned already. Im back on Garnier 3 in 1 again, and its been 2 days and Ive already noticed my skin going back to perfection.

I have dry combination skin and in the winter it's so sensitive. It's usually dry over the top layer then breaking out under somehow. I decided to try Clinique after trying tons of other products to no avail (the most recent was the Origins line which was a waste of money.) It cleared up my breakouts and knocked out the flaky top layer. Worth every penny!

I have used decleor for years and honestly I love it, but I was facing the purchase of both a day and night cream for over $200. So I thought I'd try a lower priced line. Haven't used Clinique in years.
I happened to go past the counter and thought I'd try the day cream. The woman at the counter gave me other samples, including the exfoliator and the toner. The next morning I tried the day cream and hated it. Ugh..it was sitting on my face , not being absorbed, .it didn't have the pretty decleor scent. What had I done? Let me try a few more days I thought..maybe it will get better...
So the next day I exfoliated and used the toner and then the next few days used the cleanser and toner and day cream. Long sorry short, after 10 days my face is amazing. It is soft and moist (it's usually a dry mess). I can't believe it. With the full regime the cream is awesome.
I am a convert. This system is THE BEST.

The best thing about this system was the packaging. I love that each bottle has a different design and color to differentiate what step you are using next. Other than that, I don't have too many positive things to say about this system. I really wished it had worked and thought that it would after reading reviews and the ingredients listed in each bottle. It seemed to be oil free and non-acnegenic which is the perfect match for my very oil/breakout prone skin. The cleanser made my face bright red and the lotion was so thick and creamy that it felt like it was instantly clogging my pores. I did not see a difference in my complexion at all after using for over a month. I finally had to give up and accept that this just wasn't the system for me.

Well, as another reviewer said, buy the travel pack first before you get full size stuff. I went for 4 as my skin is extremely oily. The liquid soap does not work for me - it makes my skin more oily, so I replaced it with the bar soap from the blemish 3 step, which worked much better. The toner is not very impressive - in fact, it clogged my pores, and broke me out. My skin seemed irritated all the time. I was using it for more than 1 year - I have to say, I loved the way the DDML felt as it made my skin baby soft. Unfortunately, using the 3 step every day broke me out - I used to get a few spots all the time, and I am pretty sure the toner was the problem...I have tried using soap and DDML only, but it doesn't seem to sink in my skin without the toner underneath and felt oily. It was only after I changed to Avene's products that my skin found its balance. I also used to get some weird little pimples on my forehear for some reason and they were a bit of a pain to get rid of. As for oil control, it was ok but not great. Frankly, I had to buy another product (Avene) and leave the 3 step in the middle...Overpriced for what it is and what it does - there are much better products out there that work by far much better than the 3 step. Try it first before you buy, especially if you have sensitive skin like me...
