I like my black nail polishes, having worn them off and on since my early teens. I've flirted with mattes, satins and glitters; with mass market brands, high end brands, even £1 no-names from my local discount beauty store. Although I'm now done with goth/punk blacks on stubby teenage bitten nails, I can't relinquish my blacks even as a 'grown up'. So my first port of call was Chanel for a sophisticated take on the black nail. With a 'sophisticated' price tag to match. 'Black satin', while a good shade, didn't have the staying power or finish to justify the cost. So I thought I'd give wallet-friendly Avon a shot. 'Warm Black' is my first Avon nail polish and I'm pleasantly surprised. The first time I tried it, I thought urghhh, thin difficult-to-work-with texture (I was trying to paint my nails on a moving train at the time - I know, not a great idea, but I was short on time). I was sure it was going to look wishy-washy and streaky and barely-black, and regretted going for the cheapo option. That was until I applied a second coat. Then I got perfect smooth, full coverage. A gorgeous decadent rich black satin look to rival the high enders. As well as having a glassy, true black finish, the staying power was great, even though I didn't use a topcoat. I'd certainly be keen to try some other shades in the range.

Surprisingly i really like Avon nailwear nail polishes, i have warm black a true black, better than Chanel's black satin, i have that too and Chanel chips like crazy, and doesnt last, Avons does, and doesnt chip for a few days where the Chanel polish chiped on me by the end of the day.
I also have Avon's in vintage vamp, identical to my 1990's fave Chanel vamp polish! And Avons midnight plum, a blackish plum color!
I bought them when Avon had them on sale for $2.00, i find these to be the best colors in the Avon brand, good lasting polish for a couple bucks cant go wrong!

I recently bought 'warm black' and 'midnight plum'. It was my first Avon nailpolish purchase. I love them both. The only downside was that I found them lacking in shine after about a day or two (more noticable with the 'warm black') -- however, I didn't use a top coat! If I had, I'm sure I would have had lasting shine.

A must have nail polish color. It is a satiny warm black. I apply Revlon basecoat then a coat of this, then another coat of basecoat and 2nd coat of warm black and then topcoat. I do this and I have chip resistant long lasting color. Looks great on long or short nails. I am almost always wearing Avon warm black or Avon Midnight Plum when I give myself a manicure or pedicure.

the other reviewers are absolutely correct! it's sooooo great. AND it is TRUE BLACK, not like a really dark brown or anything weird, the name is sorta misleading. 2 coats, BAM. chip-resistant, lasts several days with minimal chipping. shiny. dries pretty quickly. I ALMOST purchased the Chanel one. But, hey. I'd rather spend $4 than $20!
Black is the *New Red* in nailpolish. can be worn for clubbing or with a nice black suit or dress. so versatile.
I love the bottle and the brush bristles are great.
I will repurchase. i got 2/$5 recently

Fabulous color! This is a great black nail polish. Instantly makes nails look chic which is what I love about it. No matter what condition my nails are in I can throw a coat of this on and look like I just came from the salon. It's chip resistent, has a fabulous gloss to it and has a great application. A must have, especially for the fall/winter season!

This color is so hot! Its right for the season. Avon has become more trendy lately. This is similar to the Chanel black satin nail color. But Avon Warm black is similar, its super shiny and a plain black satiny color every girl should have in her collection.
