I really wanted to like this product. I love so many other LORAC products and wanted to count this among them but it just isn't so. The product is thicker than I anticipated and the coverage was good and made my skin look nice, but I broke out every time I used this so it will be going back to Ulta for a refund

This is the only foundation that does not break me out or dry my skin out! It blends nicely and doesn't feel like I have any makeup on. It has medium coverage, but it is build-able. The only flaw is that it does settle into fine lines/pores a bit so I am going to buy a primer to see if it helps. It is on the expensive side, however foundation is one of the few beauty items I am willing to splurge on.

This foundation is not for oily skin, and from some of the reviews I've read.. not for dry skin either. Maybe it's good for normal skin without any issues. This stuff slid right off of my face within hours. I even used the twice baked powder over it. One night after cooking dinner while wearing this foundation.. and after eating with my family, I passed a mirror and couldn't believe the oily mess I was looking at. Oily face with makeup smudged all over. Yuck.

I. Love. This. Foundation.
I used it about 3 years ago and I did like it then, but got sucked into the hype of other foundations and abandoned this one for awhile. Nothing else has compared to Lorac Natural Performance. First, the color match is spot-on for me. I use the lightest shade, NP 1 Porcelain. If you need something super light, not yellow, but not necessarily pink, NP 1 is what you want. (um... it's practically white) NP 1 is lighter than Lorac Breakthrough Performance in the lightest shade, which they call SMS 1.
Second, no sunscreen! I use a separate sunscreen product (or products) depending on what I have going on that day, I want a foundation that does not contain it's own sunscreen.
Third, I think the coverage is perfect, it covers really, really well for me. I would classify it as a medium coverage. I am used to light coverage, barely-there tinted moisturizer, because I prefer that kind of feel. Natural Performance doesn't feel gross or heavy at all. I blend it out with the Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge (the blue one @ Target) and my skin looks flawless.
I have really sensitive skin and this doesn't break me out at all. Doesn't contain Silica which is a zit-trigger for me.

I have horrible skin and I love Lorac Natural Performance for that. It's great for sensitive skin and it's really gentle and the price isn't that horrible for a higher end foundation. But unfortunately, even with primers and concealers the coverage for me isn't enough. It really dries out on my combination skin, especially on my cheeks, even when I have combined it with moisturizer to try and avoid that. I want to love it, but I just can't. Once it runs out I'll be trying something else.

Finally found my "magic bullet" foundation. I've tried...100? different foundations. I like everything about this. I have trouble finding a neutral or cool foundation that doesn't look or feel like a mask AND has a sensitive formula. I get light-to-medium coverage and can easily build for full coverage without getting a cakey/pilling finish. It has good staying power for me, even though I slather on prescription treatments and plenty of moisturizer. Doesn't dry out or look greasy, I can even skip the dusting of powder to set. Accepts all blushers well, whether I use cream, a stick, gel or powder. I LOVE the pump-style packaging with the twist-to-lock feature. I can get as much or as little as I need and find that very little of this product goes a long way. Recently decided to stop wasting most of my product in a foundation brush, and this still applies like a dream with fingertips. Thanks to Renee at Sephora for letting me sample practically every foundation in the shop.

It's a pretty good foundation but it can be drying on my skin. I have to wear moisturizer under my foundation to smooth it out and that helps.

I can not believe how much I LOVE this foundation. I was going crazy trying to find the perfect foundation after my NARS Sheer Glow finally ran out and figure that was the perfect time to try out other foundations. I love NARS Sheer Glow, and it was my favorite until I tried the LORAC. I go more for a natural/slightly dewy finish which the NARS was good with, but it didn't have the coverage I wanted and didn't last as long as I needed it to. I tried Tarte Amazonian Clay, which I didn't like at all, Make Up For Ever HD, which I wasn't impressed by, though I didn't not like it, and the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation which I didn't have in the right shade but it felt very mask like and heavy. When I told the Sephora associate that I wanted something like the Sheer Glow only with more coverage, she immediately recommended the LORAC Natural Performance Foundation. I've only worn it for 2 days, but they have been extremely hot, humid days and this foundation has held up incredibly! I wore this foundation yesterday when it was 96° F out from approximately 6 am until I went to bed around midnight. It looked SO good when I went to take it off I almost didn't want to. I was amazed it hadn't melted off my face. It gives the most beautiful natural/slightly dewy finish ever-- even in that heat it wasn't extremely shiny. Though for people who like matte finishes, this probably wouldn't be the foundation for you. I just finished working 6 hours, and I had the foundation on for 2 hours before that and I came home and was amazed when I looked in the mirror. My skin just looks perfect.
I have combination skin, I get oily in my T-zone and have a little bit of dry, flaky skin on my nose and occasionally on the sides of my nose by my cheeks. This foundation does tend to stick to dry skin a littleeee bit but it's nothing terrible because I do find it to be moisturizing. I am the shade Santa Fe in NARS Sheer Glow, and that can be a tad too dark on me but it usually blends into my neck well and I typically like foundation to be a little darker than my skin to add some color. Nothing too drastic though. The Sephora associate matched me with NP3 which I was weary about being too light but it ended up being pretty perfect. NP3 is described as "Light/Medium" and I could probably get away with using NP4 "Medium" as well. This foundation is also oil and paraben free which is great. I apply this with my fingers after moisturizing and using a little bit of Smashbox Photo Finish and Bare Minerals Prime Time neutralizing primer around my nose where it's red. I also sometimes use my BareMinerals Ready Foundation as a setting powder (very lightly sweep over skin) and I think it makes it look more flawless. My face looks almost airbrushed. I'm obsessed with this foundation. It looks like you have perfect skin without having anything on it. Both my mom and brother commented on how good my skin looked and they didn't even think I was wearing makeup! The only thing I'd like to find out is how it photographs, but since I don't believe it has an SPF I'm guessing it would be fine for photos.
Pros: Medium-buildable great coverage, flawless, airbrush finish, pump!, oil & paraben free, long lasting, cheaper than NARS! haha
Cons: I honestly can not think of any.
It's hard to say what the finish of this foundation really is because it's not dewy and it's definitely not matte. I'd describe it as like a natural satin finish. It's just soft and perfect. Not greasy or powdery at all. At this point I could honestly say this is the best foundation I have ever tried and I never thought anything would replace my Sheer Glow. This is my HG foundation.

While I must admit, I am always on the hunt for something new and potentially better, this is the best foundation i have ever found up until this point. My skin is not only sensitive to break-outs (including cystic acne and deep nodules if applying the wrong products), but I also care about the amount of chemicals (ie: parabens, artificial scents and additives, and silicone) that I slather on my skin on a daily basis as well. This foundation last all day long for me (with or without a setting powder on top), and I am a manager of a restaurant and work in a hot kitchen at a fast pace most days. The colour NP3 matches me perfectly, and I prefer to use a blending brush (currently the Urban Decay Good Karma blending brush) to dot it all over my face and then buff it out. Although I do like that the pump packaging keeps everything air-tight and sanitary, unfortunately the pump clogs easily and can get messy after only a few uses. At $36 a bottle from Sephora this is on the high-end of my price scale, however I've never come across another foundation that performs as well (not to mention the lack of icky ingredients in it too). Definitely recommend giving this a try!

:( I am so sad that this product does't work for me. It's wonderful that it does not contain all the junk most makeup does. So here's the deal: I bought this foundation to replace the mineral foundation I have been using for 3 years (Bare minerals, shade golden medium for ref). I have super sensitive/combo skin so I was excited to purchase this as I heard it worked great my skin type.
THE GOOD: packaging, ingredients
PROBLEMS: I have an olive/yellow undertone (medium), and it was really hard to match the colour to my skin (TOO LIGHT!, bought NP6 even when i mixed it with a shade darker, still oddly chalky light). This foundation makes my face look like an oil slick after 3 hours, even if I use a primer and setting powder. I could wipe my finger across my cheek and the foundation would come off! The price is also pretty steep.
Anyway, I don't recommend this for someone who has got combination/oily skin because of its strange texture after a few hours. Settled into lines (I'm only 21, this made me look 15 years older)! Guess it's back to the drawing board!
