What's so nice about the RBL polishes is that they're distinctive and sophisticated - enough so that they remain current beyond the season they were introduced (for the limited edition colors, that is). To some people, a teal polish should be sorta garish. This isn't - so maybe it needs a name change. Its a muddy, murky blue-green creme with maybe a touch of grey. For those who like wearing fingernail polish with color, this is bold yet neutral enough to a) work with anything you're wearing and b) not bore you. (On the toes, it tends to get a little dark and look like lots of other near-black polishes.) RBL quality remains terrific.

As others have commented, this polish applied beautifully - almost a one-coater! It also lasted six days (with RBL's treatment system) with minimal tipwear (a real record breaker for me). It is, however, very dark. Even though I'd read the reviews, I was still surprised by how dark it was. It isn't so dark it looks black, but close to that. On the one hand, the darkness makes the color very wearable, chic and sophisticated but on the other, it didn't *quite* have the color payoff I was looking for. In many lighting conditions, it just looked dark blue to me. For that reason, I giving this nail polish four lippies, rather than five.

This is the first RBL nail polish I have ever tried. I love it! All the reviews are correct. The application and consistency is perfect. I've had it on for 4 days with no chips (using OPI Chip Skip and Essie 3-way top coat). I love the dark teal. I consider this a "classy" dark color. I am 27 and work in a professional office. I was nervous about whether any co-workers/clients would judge my dark teal decision. Just the opposite! I have gotten many compliments. I have never seen this color before and I am relieved I love it as much as I do, considering the high price tag. It's worth it, and I think I'm addicted now.

Application is flawless with rbl cremes. Goes on like butter.
Now the color.. is just stunning. Amazing on my pale skin, but it'd look good on anyone. It is by no means teal - it is so much more. One has to look at a picture to know what I mean, and even then, it has a way shinier, vibrant yet muted presence in real life. To me, if I had to describe it, I'd call it a navy blue with some green thrown into the batch. It's a STUNNING must have. Barely needed two coats.

Never before have I received more compliments on a nail polish. This is the most perfect, beautiful deep blue-green creme on the planet. It's not so deep that it ever looks black in darker lighting, yet it's not so light that it ever looks like candy (like blue M&Ms) or something a tween might wear. I usually don't love funkier nail colors (I'm boring ;), but this is so gorgeous I can't resist. It's a luscious, rich, sophisticated, interesting teal. The application is a dream: smooth, creamy, and opaque at one coat (I do two though). I'm very tan/ golden and love it, but I think this would look amazing on everyone.

I liked the idea of the color but it was slightly darker compared to what I was hoping teal would look like. For me, it didn't look any more special than your average dark blue nail polish. It applied smooth, even, and glossy. However, I experienced a few tiny chips after a day of wearing it even after I used the RBL treatment system. I have older RBL nail polishes that wore better even without the treatment system. I won't buy this again because of the color. As for the wear, I'm hoping this is only from a bad batch because my previous experiences with RBL have been exceptional. (P.S. I probably got a bad batch of No More War too because it also chipped fairly quickly BUT the color is truly unique that I am willing to overlook that ....for now =D)

I'm quite cool toned, very pink, and yes, this wonderful color looks great on me.
It's kind of a dark color, so I suppose it would fit in more with a fall color scheme, but I love wearing it in summer too.
It applies well, and wears well.
I do use RBL's trio of products, the prep, base coat and top coat with all my RBL polishes, I gather it helps improve wear time.

Teal is from the fall 2008 collection for Rescue Beauty Lounge. It's a rich, opulent, slightly toasted blue-green that seems to me would go with a wide range of fall colors, from charcoals and blacks to browns and greens. I'd love to see it paired with plum or olive clothes -- much as Ji Baek has paired Teal with a plum (Bruised) and olive (No More War) in this collection. There is nothing showy about this teal -- the word I keep returning to is "sophisticated." Teal is a very welcome release for warmies, after all the recent cobalt and navy blues, but I think cool-toned women could wear this -- it would simply seem edgier on them. The application is marvelous; you could manage with one coat, though my skills aren't advanced enough to get away with that. My one caveat: This chipped on me within 24 hours, something the comparably priced Lippmann never does. This *could* be because I didn't use my usual base coat, Barielle Natural Nail Camouflage. If it does better with Camo, I'll update and upgrade. Note: The d/c'd CoverGirl NailSlicks Mystic Peacock is a very close dupe, even though it's a shimmer. The CG, though, takes at least four or five coats to get rid of its streaks, so I can't recommend it. But if you already have and like Mystic Peacock and don't want or need a creme version, you can skip Teal. Comp pics are in my profile.
