I was sort of expecting Monarch Butterfly to be more...well, Monarch Butterfly-colored. You know, black and orange and whatnot. It's actually a very pretty medium-to-dark brown with a slight plummy undertone (at least in my batch) with yellow/orange/red-based glitter/sparkle. It's really a very pretty shade, though it doesn't remind me of a Monarch Butterfly. But then, a lot of their names don't make much sense. And that makes me love the brand all the more. :)

This is a beautiful color, but can be difficult to work with. You absolutely cannot overwet it at all, and I've found it works better to apply it dry (carefully and slowly patting!) over their Pixie Epoxy (after using a base first). It is a VERY dark black-brown base with a shimmery brown/bronze overlay. However, the results are pretty much a jazzed up black shadow, so be aware you are going to be using a BLACK shadow, and there will be fallout off the brush when you apply it! (No matter how little you use.) It's messy.
Used this on halloween for a spooky smokey eye. I was really happy with it. Dramatic! Takes some work though.
This is an evening/going out color for sure. Not subtle.
Great liner color as well, if you have the patience for it using a liner fixative or Pixie Epoxy.

I love this shade as an eyeliner! Dark dark brown as the base, then red and gold shimmer--it is very pretty. I do recommend applying it over Pixie Epoxy, otherwise you will lose the sparkle and it will tend toward a grayish brown and will not stay put. It is a nice twist on a neutral and very wearable everyday.

This is a completely gorgeous color. Black with copper reflect. I put some black base on my lid, put this over that, and blended it out with some fyrinnae atomic afterglow shadow, and said "wow". The color reflect in this is amazing. Fyrinnae is my new favorite makeup line. Gotta try them (@ Fryinnae.com)!

This is a gorgeous color! The first reviewer described it perfectly. This is definitely not a flat black but rather a jazzed-up black that is stunning! I prefer using this dry though because it looks like a charcoal grayish black when used wet. I was actually quite disappointed that the multi-faceted colors did not show up when used wet. I purchased a sample size of this & will definitely be getting a full-sized!

Oh my GOD do i love this shadow! This has become my absolute favorite go-to shadow for a sexy smoky eye.. its a smoky black color with fiery red/bronze pearl.. the pearl softens out the harshness of the black and its not as overpowering as a lot of other black shadows.. there really isnt much more to say about this shadow other than the fact that it is absolutely GORGEOUS, and im amazed im the first to review it..
The only thing i didnt like about it was the jar it came in.. the way it closes the shadow gets in all the grooves of the lid and the product gets EVERYWHERE when you open it up... but i did email the nice gals over at fyrinnae and they told me they are using different jars now... so, problem solved! and you cant beat fyrinnaes awesome prices... ladies i would snatch this shadow up the next time you haul from them =).. you will NOT be disappointed
click continued for pics... (the bronze e/s i used in the pics of my eye was scott barnes eye ice in serpentine)
