I never screw anything like balms up because they always seem to get stuck up.. broke my rule cus I was so curious to see how much there was and there is a lot of product! but then halfway going down it stopped so I had to push it down and some was sliced onto the brim but I just put that on my lip instead of wasting it and just wiping it. if you're not a lipstick girl (like me--I only have 2), want color with lip benefits, these are not expensive for how long a tube will last and every color has such impact that if you don't want the full color, you can dot and rub, and repeat as much as you like. gave it a 4 though because since it is a balm, it's rounded, and if you have lips that do that little M thing it's kind of annoying getting the balm to be precise in that area.

The color is beautiful. For daytime wear, I use it more sparingly: Instead of running it across my lips as I would with a clear lip balm or lipstick, I dot it on. It still has a terrific color payoff, but it is more subtle and suitable for a pretty and casual look during the day. If I use it at night, I can afford to use it a little more liberally. It has a nice tingling sensation when you put it on, so I like to use it as a sort of pick-me-up makeup product. I'm still using the tube of lip shimmer that I bought a few years ago so it still has the problem of not being able to twist down, but I've heard that Burt's Bees has acknowledged that problem since then. Overall, a very nice lip product, suitable for any age or skin color.

I love this color. It's very similar to Clinique's Almost Black Honey lipstick. When you apply it, it feels tingly because of the peppermint oil. The color is a muted, semi-sheer wine color. It does moisturize and the lasting power is decent (better than the Black Honey).
This is for everyday wear or going out. I will keep purchasing.

Fig comes off as a plummy mauve pink, a perfect MLBB shade. I'd honestly call this the poor/cheap girl's Chanel Boy but minus the high shine factor. Great for the days when you want a bit of color but don't want the shine of a gloss or the impact of a lipstick. Also, Burt's Bees finally fixed the problem where you couldn't retract the color back in the tube, so there's no reason to not pick up this color (and several more).

This is my HG daytime lip product! Just the right amount of colour and I love the peppermint oil. The fig shade also works well with my ruddy colouring and high lip pigmentation. Very decently price, and an environmentally responsible product! :)

It's 100% natural and matches my actual lip colour. It's also a decent moisturizer. Unfortunately there's no way to screw the balm back into the tube. Furthermore the product has a tendency to be too soft to apply precisely. Once on, it bleeds everywhere. I'll stick to the original balm, thanks.

I tried my this in another shade too - both are STILL too much color. I then tried to lightly paint it on with a brush - STILL too much color.
Now, I apply the Hurraw colorless balm, then just a dot of this on lower lip, then spread with brush. AHA - finally - the minuscule the amt of color I crave. At this rate, stick of this BB product will surely last me ten years.
Maybe I am using the wrong BB product? I just want a hint of color.

This is a sure dupe for: NARS Dolce Vita l/s and Clinique's Black Honey, I have both and swatched them, can't tell the difference. I'm taking lippies off for the packaging, there IS a reason we buy lipsticks and not this cheesy thing that globs all over the place, another lippie off for the terrible peppermint taste...that said, it's a great color and cheaper than whatever at $3.50 a tube when you're out of something and in a hurry pick this up, it's surely YLBB, but not as great as a lipstick. On the fence if I will purchase again.
**Update** This went in the trash after 2 days, not only did it almost ruin an expensive handbag due to glop all over, but it got on my hands every time I applied it, it bled around my lips. The color is lovely but not for me, big ICK!

This is a great little product: to start off the packaging is really light, takes very little space in your purse and it's easy to use. Then it lasts a really long, despite its reduced size.
It's a nice rich colour that blends nicely with my complexion and it keeps my lips hydrated and tingly, thanks to the peppermint oil. To top it all, I love the fact that it's 100% natural.
I also have the Watermelon lip shimmer and at first I was a bit disappointed that it didn't taste like watermelon but when you want a natural lip product you should know not to expect artificial flavours.
The only downside is that Burt's Bees are not widely available in Europe and when I want more I'll have to order from the US to get a decent price.

My favorite lip product! This gives a nice shine to your lips -- not strong enough to be a gloss, but not dull enough to be considered matte. It's a very natural shine. The color is natural as well! I was scared to try it at first because of how dark it looks. However, I tried it on my wrist and it applied sheer with a natural hint of brown and peach. I love applying this for a natural, every day look because it gives my lips a naturally subtle, dark tint and shine. It will last for hours without reapplying. My favorite part about this product is that when it does dry up, it will NOT leave behind color flakes and patchiness like my other lip sticks. It just fades away naturally, leaving your lips still moisturized. This lip shimmer feels just like the regular Burt's Bees balm when you apply it. It also tastes and smells the same. The only difference is that this is tinted and gives you a light shimmer. Wonderful product that can be used alone or with a lip stick! The only flaw I have for this product is the price, but I'm willing to pay a bit more for this excellent quality, natural, and harm-free product.

Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Fig provides a sheer wash of natural looking pinky brown colour that would be more noticeable for light to medium skin tones. Although it is called lip shimmer, I don't notice any glitter. I did notice the peppermint oil which makes it feel and smell fresh and I liked that. It is light weight and gives some moisture to lips but would not be suitable for those in need of heavy duty moisturising. Also not suitable for those with dry peeling lips as the sheer colour will apply unevenly and leave quite a cakey mess. But overall if one's lips are not too dry, this provides some moisture with a slightly shiny pinky brown colour that isn't too glossy. Rather pretty colour and provides sufficient moisture for summer and I would buy it again.

My favourite lip product. Handy size, very small and convenient to take anywhere. Lovely flattering colour for those into the natural look. It works like lipstick for less the price.
* EDIT: The 2nd and 3rd time I bought the product I was annoyed that the packaging was faulty. When I twisted the bottom to bring up more of the shimmer, it didn't work. This happened when the product was halfway or almost finished. Still for the price, a good buy. But I've since switched to Korres lip butter.

great product, great color. like this for when i want something that's not gloss, but not lipstick either...something casual and natural looking. The minty flavor is great , the texture is nice and the color is pretty and natural....reminiscent of Clinique's Black Honey but a touch pinker/warmer...the name is deceiving however as i really detect no shimmer in this at all...I need to try more of these!

Love this color! really pretty pink that looks good on my fair skin. I got two for $8 which I think was a good deal since they're usually $5 each. They go on sale pretty often. I wish the tube was a bit bigger. Smells like mint!

I like the lip shimmers, but I think they are expensive for the size of the tube. Fig is a great pinkish color that works well on my yellow/orange skin tone. It's tends to bleed outside your lips, so I keep this one in my purse and I wear with a lip liner. I will purchase this product again...

I own like three of these- Fig, Peony and Raisin- and they never cease to be my favorite lip balms. I don't understand why people review them poorly, seeing as Burt's Bees neither lies about what they are (calling them lip balms, not lipstick) nor makes any special claims about them. It's pretty obvious what you're buying, you know? Myself, I love the lip shimmers. Fig is itself not shimmery, but it imparts a lovely warm pink hue. The minty balm feel is great! I hate lipstick, generally, so this is a nice compromise when lip gloss doesn't seem appropriate. The fact that they are very naturally based and cruelty free has ultimately cemented me into re-buying in the future! Yay!

Perfect shade, and no shimmer, just soft shine. This is what YLBB is for me. Lasting power and moisturizing qualities are also excellent. So this is my current favourite - i use this almost exclusively at the moment. I do hope they don't discontinue it (as they did with the other Honesty/Fig lipstick that used to be my favourite).
