Bought this on sale for three dollars. Pretty color, but not very wearable most of the time, you have to keep the rest of your makeup very toned down in order to pull this off. I think a red should be more versatile. I like the texture but it doesn't stay as long as I'd like, so I wouldn't get it again.

So, I thought I'd give this red, red lipstick a try. Bought it online. Put some on. Looked rather bright and unnatural... not something I'd normally feel comfortable in, but I thought I'd be bold (well, in the safety of my own home - I didn't go out with it on).
Husband comes home. He pretty much never comments on my makeup. Took a look at me and said, "You look like a clown."
Well... I appreciate the honest feedback, I GUESS. Decided that color is not for me, haven't worn it again. Well, that's not quite true - I did try to put on just a tiny bit, using it as a stain... it still looks too bright, somehow, on me.
It's just the color that I don't like. I should add: on me, this is not a red red, it is a pinkish red. But I'll always think of it as clown red :-)

I love this lipstick! It's such a pretty color and even though I'm like a nc30 it looks gorgeous on me. It's super creamy and VERY pigmented! It's my go to red & just looks classy! I love it !

I love red lipstick. Revolution is the best ultimate red lipstick I can find today vs. my hall-of-fame, all time favorite from l'oreal in true cherry that was discontinued moons ago. It is extremely intense, satin, in your face red with blue undertones. I favor this over MAC Red. Will repurchase again and again.

Egads, this is the brightest red on the market it seems. It is so very red that sometimes I feel kind of nervous about wearing it. It is a lovely texture, though, it glides on and stays on for a long time without drying. But man, it's red! I mean RED!

I picked this up on a whim for 2.99 in tj hughes, never having experimented with lipstick much before. Well! I really love revolution, it started my lipstick obsession of the past few months. It is a very intense shade of red if I apply it straight, so I keep it for parties/nights out, but if you take a brush and daub it gently onto your lips it can also come out a pretty deep pink that is suitable for daytime. The packaging is also really pretty and discreet, the only negative thing I would say is it drys my lips out a little.

Amazing color and pigmentation, a gorgeous bright cherry red. I absolutely love the colour, the best red i've ever seen!!!
Also, the formula is super smooth and it litterally glides onto the lips, 1 sweep and you're ready to go!!!
Just 1 complain: IT DOES NOT LAST LONG!! if you don't drink/eat or smoke it may last 2-3 hours, not longer than that tough!
I'm not a smoker but I drink a lot, so after a while I end up with pachy lips!!!

I love UD anyways and I had fallen in love with RUSH so I let the lady at Ulta talk me into trying Revolution on. I LOVED IT..UD never ceases to amaze me. I am a darker skinned black woman so Ive never really considered red lips but I think it looks best on me!! I love the smell and it doesn't taste horrible. Also, I never have to reapply when I go out for the night, esp when I use my lip primer. This it totally worth the 22 bucks. I went to shop around to look at other reds afterwards and no others can compare. This is a True Red!

Fabulous lipstick! This is one of my all time favorites. Goes in a true red, dies down to a deep berry colour. Which is not what I expected when I got this product, but now I love it! Also, it is super moisturizing. I would not apply lip balm under or over it. It lasted me half the day without reapplying, it did fade..but did so beautifully.

My only really RED red. On my lips it comes out as a true red, eventually wearing down to a still pretty deeper pink. I love the formula, nice and creamy. I usually line it with ozone otherwise i notice feathering. The pricetag is a little high, but it's the only true red I have so it's worth the sacrifice

First of all, thank you to Urban Decay for having a vegan/vegetarian red lipstick, as most of the red lipsticks available are tested on animals and/or have carmine/crushed beetles.
Most importantly for nonvegans, it's a rich red color that is moisturizing and stays pretty well. I don't know what undertones work best for this red, as it hurts my brain to think too much about my color choices; I'm a more impulsive lipstick buyer. :) This is my go-to red. Yes, it's the only red I've tried, but it worked and I like it, so my search is over. :)

This is my first lippie by UD despite the fact that I am such a junkie about their other products (I guess the $22 price tag and the fact I have to order online kept me away....after all, MAC lippies are just over at the mall for $8 less)
Anyway, "Revolution" is a bright RED red. Nothing more to say here other than it is RED lipstick. I like the cream formula. It is nice and ....creamy and goes on like a dream. I know some people complain about the weird candy corn smell, but it is not all that bad, IMO. I also like the packaging. It is unique and easy to find in my bag due to the dagger on the end of the tube.
Over all, I like this. I know you can find a RED red lipstick with a cream formula from just about any priced brand, but if you are thinking about buying or swapping for this, you ought to. It is not something I would be wearing every day (can get messy!!), but it is nice.

I picked this up because I wanted a vampy red lipstick, and have used Urban Decay before. I have very pale, blue toned skin, and it was a very nice red-blue on me. My only problem with it (and it really shouldn't be that much of a problem) is that it is so hyper-pigmented that it staid (for lack of a better word) wet on my lips and rubbed off very very easily, especially onto my teeth. However, it was pretty moisturizing and didn't dry out and flake like a lot of red lipsticks do, so if you don't mind reapplying every hour or so and checking your teeth a lot, this really is a great lipstick.

This goes on as a pinky-red for me, neutral enough for everyday. It just looks fab; never too pink or too red. It's a great neutral for me. It lasts fairly long and is non-drying.

Ok first off - it just turns my lips pink >.< but i do have naturally very pink lips - i'll try it under a yellow based primer next time.
But other than that its a fantastic lipstick (unfortunately i bought it BECAUSE i wanted a red lippy)
Other than that initial fail its a gorgeous lipstick - it has decent wear, a beautiful smell and it feels fantastic on your lips - really creamy and feels more like a moisturiser than a lipstick! its just a shame about the colour turning pink *grumbles*

To start this review I want you to know that I don't normally wear red lipstick. I have tried in the past, and because my lips are full, I have felt very uncomfortable.
I got Revolution for a pretty good deal - about $9. I wasn't sure that I would keep it or swap it though. Looks very dark in the tube to me, but I went ahead and tried it. I love this color! It is a vibrant pure red that just pops from my pale skin. I wore this color all day long and re-applied once half way through the day, just to make it more vibrant.
The lipstick itself is so nice. I am used to using MAC lustre lipsticks, which I thought were great. Now the UD is AWESOME! Color slides on slick like butter and the color is so concentrated. It feels soft and not slimy or gritty. Just perfect.
Best lipstick I have ever used.

Ok, general thoughts on the UD lipsticks: The website tells you which are full coverage, semi-sheer, and sheer. Trust it. The full coverage colors are well pigmented and a swipe or two will do. The semi-sheers are buildable, but you'll need a few swipes if you want strong color. The sheers are more like a gloss than a lipstick. These lipsticks do have a caramel cream scent, but it goes away pretty fast after use. They also have a slightly bitter odd taste. That doesn't go away as fast, but does eventually. It's not yummy, but if you wear lipgloss on top, or avoid licking your lips, it isn't bad. The wear on the lipsticks is decent and hella good if you put it over one of the matching 24/7 liners. I'm not thrilled with the tube (it's too big for my lipstick holder and I hate the little sword deal), but the design on the cap is pretty.
About this color, Revolution, it is a true red that applies well and fully with a limited number of swipes. I tend to turn reds quite pink, and that effect stays pretty limited with this (it does go a little cooler as I wear it, but it never turns hot pink like most reds do). I think this will be my "go to" red for the foreseeable future!
Pictures below -pardon the shaky application
Edited to add: I seem to have developed an allergy to these. When I wear them, my lips feel very tight, slightly swollen, and burn/hurt all day. I have super sensitive skin, so I'm probably just the freak of nature, but it may be something to watch for if you have allergy issues. I haven't reduced the rating on the product because.... it's not the product's fault : )
