I have a full bottle of this that I can't use because the smell is so horrible. WHYYYY did they make such a strong, disgusting scent? Otherwise, I love the gold shimmer...not big glitter chunks but more of a gold iridescence. The shimmer itself is wonderful but I can not get over the smell. It also doesn't absorb that great.

I just absolutely love this stuff!!!!! I am sooooo upset I can't seem to find this product anymore...I have heard it was discontinued. It goes on like butter and it gives you a beautiful healthy glow! What a loss if it really is discontinued...... :(

Fun, but not for everyday. I love Nivea, period. I think you can never fully go wrong with their products. This shimmer lotion is nice, but it feels a bit oily to me. Plus, no one wants to shimmer all the time, right? I think it so fun and flirty and great for that special occasion when it is needed. Much better than those glitter lotions.

I just uploaded two pictures of myself that say this product works beautifully.
In both pictures, I put it all over my body (except face), focusing mainly on the collarbones and legs. On the second photo (against the graffiti), I even used it on my lips and it turned out beautifully. So, if you have medium/light skin, this is perfection in a bottle. The consistency is less than stellar. I would never wear this on a daily basis, as it is oily feeling and slick. and it gets shimmer everywhere! but for photoshoots, for a special night out with that special someone, or maybe even for the prom, this is a must-have. Decently priced. People would pay five times for a nice glow. This is worth trying.

it smells weird and too strong, consistency is too runny and it doesnt absorb well. the shimmer is pretty but usually hard to spread around evenly. im not a fan.

i'm not too fond of the smell of this lotion. i've had it for years and the smell hasnt changed, which is good i suppose. i have tanned skin tone and it adds a nice shimmer to it. doesnt look fake. i find that i need to rub it in til its completely absorbed in order for it to have an even look, especially around my feet and ankles. i would buy this product again if its super cheap.

While this stuff looks fabulous on the skin out in the sun, it smells really weird and makes me not want to use it. I wish it smelled better...throwing out half of the bottle now.

I really like this product especially for the spring and summer time when I show a little skin. I bought the one for medium to dark skin tones and it gives my caramel complexion a little kick. It camouflages little imperfections too. I recommend it for others, but you have to wait a couple of minutes before you put your clothes on or it will rub off on to your clothes.

I have beige colored skin. I tried the medium to dark bottle since the fair to light was too light. Well, I had to put alot in order to see it shimmer. It barely shimmered. Most of the shimmer stayed on my hands. The scent of this was awful. It did not smell good to me. I will not repurchase.

this lotion is complete crap. i wouldnt recommend it to anyone. first of all, the smell is horrible. waaaaay too strong. the shimmer is way too big and just looks ugly. and on top of that, the lotion is just difficult to rub in..i hate it.

This product would be great if it wasn't so strongly scented. It is overpowering! You can't wear any other scent with it. It is so strong, it makes my infant daughter cry when I wear it. There are other similar products available with much lighter scents. Granted, most cost a bit more, but to me they are definitely worth it. I will never buy this again unless they introduce an unscented version.

This isn't a terribly bad lotion. You can't really see Light to Medium on me indoors. Outside though my arms were really sparkly and pretty. The smell is just overpowering. I almost went to go wash it off. This probably wouldn't be a good lotion in the summer due to the smell. I don't consider it moisturizing enough for the winter. If only they would make this with SPF and lose the fragrance. Then it'd be great.

Ick-I'm sticking to Jergen's. I bought this in light-medium because I'm very pale. The smell didn't bother me, but I sure didn't feel silky and there was NO shimmer. I didn't want dramatic glitter, but there was nothing. I paid $6 for a small bottle-total waste of money. Queen Helene is much better for moisturizng at a much cheaper price, and Jergen's has more shimmer in their lotion. Won't be rebuying-and will probably end up throwing this out.

I have repeatedly purchased the original nivea shimmer lotion and now i have purchased the medium to dark one. love them both. i mix mine with nivea firming lotion and then apply, so i guess thats why i don't smell what everyone else seems to be smelling. I use perfume anyway. it has plenty of shimmery sparkle. any more and i would feel like i was trying to look 16 again! too much glitter looks rather cheesy anyway. for the tiny price tag-as opposed to body bling or lancomes shimmery oil, this is well worth the price!

it's so weird how some just didn't find any shimmer. well i too got a sample of both colors from a magazine and when i gave both a try i saw alot of shimmer. the one for medium to dark skin was just gorgeous. it had micro sparkles that didn't feel gritty at all. my sister told me my arms looked sparkly and almost wet. as for the light to medium color...it was also as gorgeous. it gave my arm more of a luminizing affect. sort of like becca pearl luminizer for the face...but this is nivea luminizer for the body is what i call it. both are very pretty. my fave is the one for darker skin tones because it gives me a slight hint of color to my skin. will definately purchase.

This is not what I expected at all. It is too thick and shimmery. It just looks weird on my skin. I don't like the scent either-too overpowering. It is so hard to get all the sparkles off my hand after applying also. It needs to be more light and fluid.

I had this in Medium to Dark, and I really like the effect this gives on my light olive skin. I am in my 30's, so I can't do obvious glitter without looking like I am trying too hard, but I really wish the smell of this product would fade faster. It makes me sneeze repeatedly and smells like bug repellant. I can't believe I have to give a poor review to something that looks so good on my skin! Rats!!! Double rats!!! EDIT: This is going back to the store ASAP. I put it on my arms and the male members of my family thought they smelled pipe tobacco. Now, I like the scent of pipe tobacco, and also of OFF from when I was a child, but I do not want to purposely smell strongly of either! I wanna smell like a girl, not a guy going on a hunting trip! Lowering this from a 2 to a 1. Triple Rats!!!

This did not do much for my fair skin. Maybe it would look nicer on someone tan? It did not feel to moisturizing. I gave this to my sister who is dark unlike myself.

I like this product because it doesn’t look like you're wearing glitter, like some others I've tried. I evened out my skin tone and worked great for my evening out. I don’t' like scented products, but this was ok.

Wow - can't believe the neg. feedback on this product! I LOVE it!! It smells lovely & makes my skin amazingly SILKY! I had slathered it all over my legs in the a.m. & in the late afternoon when I touched my leg I was stunned at how incredibly smooth, soft 'n silky it felt!! I'm not really sure I see any "shimmer" showing up tho & I would prefer a pump dispenser, BUT what it does for my skin makes it my newest must-have! =)
