I really enjoy this colour for cooler months. It's a great purply taupe. Unfortunately I had to toss it this fall because it got really thick and gloopy and would not thin out with polish thinner. I've replaced it with OPI's Berlin There Done that from the Germany collection. Not exactly the same, but close enough for me.

It's a little sheer and streaky and three coats later it is barely opaque. Then, even though I was careful to apply three thin coats, it took forever to dry. Painted my nails at 19:30. Went to bed at 00:30. Woke up the following day with sheet prints on every nail. Started chipping two days later. It loses two lippies for all these things and cost. The actual shade? I love it. It looks grey, purple, and taupe all at once. I was heartbroken when my beloved Revlon Street Wear polish in Schmutz vanished from the market. Metro Chic is my new Schmutz until I find a better and less spendy dupe.

Beautiful color that I've been meaning to add to my collection for quite some time. I was excited to order it from Sephora but disappointed when I opened the box today and realized.....Metro Chic is an EXACT dupe of the color that I already have on my nails: China Glaze Below Deck. Too bad! For the price and quality of the polish I prefer CG as it has worn like iron on my nails. MC will sadly be returned.

The color is really interesting, almost comparable to Chanel's Paradoxal. Though, I like OPI's formulas a lot better than Chanel's anyway.
It's a very cool purpley-slate color. Very winterish. awesome

This is a deep smoky purple. This color is really cool and well chic. I found this formula to be thicker which at first application makes it more difficult to apply then other $OPI but it evens out after a few coats

I got this when it was first released, and I was kinda underwhelmed. I just thought it didn't look very good on my skin tone or something? I don't even know. A few years later I busted it out and tried it again and fell in love. How did I not see it before? This color is perfect. It's sophisticated but still kinda edgy and cool. I have an overwhelming collection of nail colors, and this is all I've been wearing for about a month now, alternating with OPI's You Don't Know Jacques! (Which is similar, but has more brown than purple)

This is a beautiful color!! Definitely opaque after 2 coats. This color is a great go-to color and it works for practically any occasion, especially nice for an interview. Just an all-around reliable color. I would repurchase.

This is my all-time favorite nail polish and my go-to color when I don't know what color to paint my nails. I have two back-ups because I absolutely love this color. OPI always has great quality nail polishes so it applies opaquely in about two coats, three if they are reaaaaaaly thin, and it does not chip easily as long as you use a top coat. It does take awhile to dry because it smudges relatively easily but it lasts about a week on me if I wait that long before switching colors and that's great for me because usually I chip it within the first day or so. It is somewhat annoying to get off if you don't use a base coat because it tends to stick to your nails but with a base its fine. It is somewhat high maintenance in that sense but the color is gorgeous and it is the perfect grey-brown-taupe color that is gorgeous with or without a tan. I wear this year round and I absolutely love this color.

Beautiful color, but very disappointed in the quality. Went on too sheer, took three coats to get the desired level of opaqueness. Chipped badly the very next day, which is unusual (in my experience) for OPI nail color.

I would not buy this color again.
This color is not the best looking on me. It looks like I have dirty dead nails - it's ugly - it reminds me of the color of a mouse (I don't see purple when I'm wearing it). I don't know why I keep trying to make myself like it (maybe cuz of all the hype).
The application of the formula is great; smooth & non-streaky so the only reason I don't like it because of the color.

I don't paint my nails often, so the only reason I got this was to get free shipping when I picked up a Naked Palette from Sephora. The color has been described in a million other reviews so I won't bother going into details. My skin is medium-dark.
The color itself is fantastic. It's colorful enough to add a bit of "glam" but neutral too so it doesn't look garish - I feel comfortable wearing this to work. This is the only polish color that I have received compliments from both women AND men, lol! I could definitely see this as becoming one of my go-to colors on the rare occasion that I do paint my nails.
The downfall is that, for $9, this chips/wears away VERY easily. I don't use a base or topcoat, so I'm sure that's a key factor, but for such a "high end" nail polish brand I would expect it to last more than a few days. I've gotten 3 days max out of it before chipping. It takes a long time to dry so I have to invest a solid hour and a half to do 3 coats, so to have it chip so easily is a disappointment.
I supppose I would buy it again if I ran out, but again, I rarely paint my nails so I doubt I'll be out of it anytime soon.

This is my absolute favourite nailpolish.
It is a beautiful greyish-purple that looks absolutely stunning. Easily adaptable for all occasions it's my go to nail polish.
While it goes on sheer with the first coat, by the second coat it is opaque and gorgeous. You can tell the quality putting it on as it goes on smoothly and doesn't streak.
I have had no problems with chipping and find it lasts longer than many of my other polishes.
I love this! I can't recommend it enough. I've actually had to buy more because my sisters were constantly "borrowing" [stealing] mine.

This is a very long-wearing polish, just like most other sepora polishes. I type a lot, and it still didn't chip after a week.
The color applies evenly, but it needs two or three coats to be opaque.
This particular shade doesn't look terribly flattering if you have cool pink undertones like me- it looks somewhat grungy and dirty on me when worn alone. It looks fantastic on people who don't have very pronounced pink undertones.
The color alone isn't terribly flattering on me, but I use this with a top coat of Already Famous to get the perfect gun metal color that's not too flashy or glittery- it's a perfect purplish gray and the top coat adds the bit of shimmer that makes it flattering on me.

I love those types of nail polish colors that keep you guessing -is it purple or gray? Metro Chic is exactly that. A myriad of purple and gray, with a tiny bit of taupe. It's fantastic for fall and winter, and I love it as a manicure. It wears really well. I got a week's worth of wear out of it.

I love OPI and $OPI the most when it comes to nail polish, and they're almost all I buy. This polish is the only one i've come across that I dislike. It as streaky even after 3 coats and even with a base, 3 coats, and a top coat, it was chipped an insane amount after even 24 hours. I used this polish the same way I use all their other polishes and this was a huge let down. I do love the color, not worth the hassle!

THIS THIS THIS is what I wanted You Don't Know Jacques and Over The Taupe to look like on me! YDKJ is beautiful but a bit too dark/harsh on my super fair skin, and Over The Taupe was too brown and less taupe. I was about to give up and just stick with OTT until I read reviews and saw pictures of Metro Chic. This is the perfect shade for me and exactly what I've been looking for. It is the perfect taupe, an even blend of mauve, grey and brown, and not too dark or too light. Staying power is pretty good, application is kind of streaky but two coats evens it out (and three coats looks good too). The price is a bit much (and more expensive that regular OPI, not cool) but I probably would have paid up to $15 for this because it's truly what I have been desiring.

There's not much to say about this super popular color. It's dirty, it's grungy, and it's fabulous! I've had my Metro Chic for probably a year now and maybe it's the lighting at my new house but it seems less purple. Maybe it's because i've since then picked up a couple more..dirt..colors that it just doesn't seem all that unique. But it's still my fave! It really flatters my skintone and makes great, long lasting mani's. The only thing I don't like about S-OPI is the bottle and brush. The cap is awkward to hold and the brush is too narrow. Is similar to an Essie brush but longer so it can get streaky easily.
But it's a great color every polish lover should have. It looks especially *chic* with some rainbow glitter (like Pure Ice Don't You Wish) on top ;)

I was so ready to love this color. And I do like the color... sort of. It's an interesting purple-grey, but it's a streaky mess even after three coats! I usually LOVE OPI polishes, both Sephora-brand and regular, but the formula for Metro Chic polish was a huge disappointment, especially after all the hype. I got it in a mini-bottle set, so I guess I'll use it now and then until it runs out, but I'm definitely not buying another. If you want a nice not-quite-so-purple-toned-but-still-very-pretty grey polish, I'd go pick up Revlon Top Speed in Stormy.

I don't have a lot of these sorts of muddy, taupey colors. This was my first one. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it, but I don't think it really suits my skin tone (my skin is light to medium with yellow undertones; I am the color Ceylan in Nars and was matched as a NW20 in mac, but it comes out a bit orange on my skin).
Overall, it's a decent color, but not really worth all the hype.
