Had been meaning to buy oils to cleanse with, until I saw this on sale at priceline. The ingredients list sounded great, so I tried it out, and have been really impressed.
It states that the product can be tissued-off, but i prefer to massage it onto my face, and then rise off with lukewarm water, and lightly pat dry with a towel. I don't try to dry too harshly, leaving some of the oils in the cleaser on my face, helping to keep it moisturised.
4 lippies at the moment, as have only just started using over the last two weeks. We'll see how it goes over time, but so far is really good for maintaining moisture in my skin, and really glad I bought it so far.
Only problem I can think of is I can definately see how some might say it has an 'old lady' scent. It is very much scented that way, and whilst I don't mind it, I would prefer something more modern, or at least unscented.
________________
UPDATE 4/13: Changed this to 5 (from 4), really I cant think of any problems I've had with this. Was extra handy in a situation I needed cleanser but didnt have water. Very soothing and moisturising, would still prefer another scent but there's nothing wrong with this product at all, really nice.

My friend recommended it to me when I suffered several red/dry spots around my cheeks from Kiehl's brigtening cleanser. I use it to wash my face twice a day with my clarisonic and so far it does calm my skin down without any irritations.
What it does not help is my Blackheads and my oily T-Zone. I'm not sure is it because the Unscented 24 Hour Pure Moisture that I'm using or the Shea butter ingredient in the cleanser... but overall, it's still a good cleanser.

Got a trial size of this from an aussie friend and will be forever grateful. I agree with the poster who said this might just be the best cream cleanser on the market, natural or conventional, it beats every other product I tried in this category.
I have dry skin, so I love cream or balm cleansers and have tried a lot. Many. From Eve Lom, Estee Lauder, Dermalogica, Ole Henriksen, Clinique and natural brands like Weleda, Hauschka, Trilogy and pharmacy brands like Avène, La Roche Posay and Bioderma. I like this one best. I think this resembles Cliniques comforting cream cleanser a lot, so if youre looking for a natural, environmental-friendly and cruelty-free alternative, I'm pretty sure you're going to like this. It's creamy, cleans impressively well (removes cream eye makeup and my MUFE f&b foundation with no problems) and really leaves skin refreshed, like you used a toner. Just lovely!
So, what's the drawback? Well, for sensitive skin, it would be that A'Kin for some reason chose to use one of the most dreaded essential oils, geranium, containing linalool, which many are allergic to (it's oxidized compund to be precise). And it's pretty high on the ingredient list, too. I was weary. BUT I am happy to report that this sensitive-skinned user have not had any reactions to it - I tell myself that the risk of this product oxidizing on my skin or in the tube is minimal due to the use of the product.
Very pleased with everything about this product, from performance to packaging (eco-friendly, biodegradable). Well done, A'Kin and thank you aussie friend for tuning me in on this brand!

Love it! Great for my dry skin. My skin feel soft and not so tight after cleansing (like what other brands do to my skin).
Price is ok and this product is natural so I love it even more!

i like this product it is a 2 in 1 product which is handy, it is a lovely creamy texture, when rinsed off skin is clean and moisturise ready for moisturiser.
I give this 4 lippies because i think the shea butter clogs some of pores, my skin still break out around the forehead and chin.
I have also used the intensive moisturiser which also had shea butter and noticed it done the same thing to my skin.

I kid you not when I say that this is the best natural Cream cleanser on the market. I have been using natural skincare exclusively for the last five years. I love Suki and Trilogy cream cleansers, but my face doesn't feel clean after washing with the other cleansers. With the A'kin my face feels really clean but not stripped (squeeky clean). The ingredients are top notch. The packaging, althought not fancy, is serviceable (plastic tube). But, the best is that you get a 225ml tube for around $20. You will only need a small amount to cleanse with (pea sized) so this cleanser will last for quite a while. It does not remove waterproof mascara, so I suggest using a makeup remover first (Beauty without Cruelty makes an inexpensive one that works!).

This is a really lovely cleanser. I bought this because I fancied a different cleanser to use as an alternative to my beloved Eve Lom.
This cleanser has all the components I love, it is rich and creamy, and can be massaged around the skin without sinking into the skin and taking it and all the makeup/pollutants in with it. It is easily removed and can be rinsed off, it does not leave behind a film on my skin.
I have oily/combination, sensitive skin, with red cheeks and jawline spots. This soothes and comforts my skin with no reaction, I can use it around my eyes with no problems.
It is a good price at £12.99 for 225mls and I like the fact that it is not a pump dispenser - I like to decide how much I want to use at a time thankyou very much!
It does have a rose scent, but it is not too much and as a person who is not a particular fan of rose, it is fine for me.
An all round winner and a definate repurchase for me.
*Update* Feb 2010 - I still like and use this cleanser, but I have reduced the lippies to 4, maybe it is me, but I can't seem to get this one right, if I put too little on, it sinks straight into the skin, and if I put too much on, it leaves a greasy residue which does not come off easily.

This cleanser smells really good but leaves a film on my face after cleansing. It gives me the feeling that my face isn't really well cleanser. Doesn't dries my skin but it gives me black and white heads on my cheeks. Might be the shea butter? I'm not too sure. I pass it on to my boyfriend after half a bottle.

L.O.V.E. this product. I have sensitive skin that can get slightly oily in summer (humid climate) and quite dry in winter. This is my HG product for winter, it is creamy and smoothes on beautifully with a lovely rose scent. The scent is quite strong so if you are not keen on rose it's probably not for you. It is very moisturising and calms my skin very well during the dry winters we have in Australia, although I wouldn't suggest using it in summer unless you live in a cooler region or have very dry skin. The only downside of this product is that it lasts for a maximum of a year, at which point you really need to throw it out because it goes bad. But it's because of all the beautiful natural ingredients in it so it's not all bad ;)

I absolutely adore this cleanser! I was a devotee of Liz Earle’s Cleanse & Polish which I still love but am finding just a bit too expensive for the amount you get in a tube and the amount I need to use to remove makeup etc.
A’kin is all natural, works wonderfully and is available in the UK for £12.25 for a humungous 200ml bottle! Luckily I also found that it’s stocked in a local health food store so I don’t have to schlep into London anymore!
There is definitely a strong smell to this cleaner but it’s the smell of real roses so I don’t mind it so much. You only need a small amount, it will take off eye makeup (although I use a separate cleanser, just personal choice) and it removes every scrap of facial makeup. It leaves the skin feeling so soft and comfortable, not at all dry or tight. I love the fact that there are no chemicals or additives in this product, I’m gradually trying to use fewer chemicals in my skincare so finding A’kin has been wonderful!

I fully agree with Nougat. very good, creamy cleanser and 100% natural. Better than Annemarie Borlind which is somewhat runnier.

I love this cleanser - have repurchased many times. I have dry, mature skin and I find it works well as a cleanser. Doesn't dry my skin or increase my flakies

I am now on my 4 tube of this cleanser. i love the fact that it contains no chemicals. it is also very economical. you can either rinse off with water or cotton wool. i prefer to take of with water or you get left with a rich feel. you only need a very small amount. i feel it smells natural but it is quite strong. if your skin is sensitive to fragrance this might not be suitable. it leaves my skin soft and it removes all my makeup and it has not broke me out.

This is lovely and creamy and is great for my dry skin, and unlike a lot of cleansers designed for dry skin, it does a decent job of cleansing although it doesn't give a deep clean. If I've been wearing sunscreen or more makeup, then I'll either exfoliate afterwards or wash with the cream twice. It still cleanses more effectively than Cetaphil though. I like using this as it's all natural and I don't need to worry about petrochemicals or additives, etc. I like the fact that the bottle is stored on it's cap so that I can get as much product out of the bottle as possible, with a good control nozzle so that there's no leakage. I tend to use this on and off though because of the cloying rose scent, and I'd give this a higher rating if not for that.

I absolutely love this cleanser! I got in from a great trio from QVC in the uk (see the reviews ON qvc). At first I thought it was going to be too heavy for my skin as it appears quite thick but after a week or so I noticed that my skin was in fact smoother and more even toned with less redness than usual. I have had no breakouts with this and the smell is absolutely divine, it smells prettily of roses but in my opinion not a cloying or artificial way. It removes all of my makeup easily and is the best eyemakeup remover I have ever used. My skin is so soft after cleansing instead of dry or tight. I do have very dry skin and oily/combination skintypes may find this a bit rich though. The price is reasonable for the size of tube, 200ml for £13 in the uk. I also love A'kin's natural philosophy and use of natural ingredients without chemical nasties. What's not to love?

I bought this when I kept having bad reactions to other cleansers, since this is for sensitive skin. It is extremely gentle and I haven't had any adverse reactions after using it daily for a few months now. It's also quite good value for money, you get a huge bottle and you only have to use a small amount.
However, I probably wouldn't repurchase - I find it's just too thick and creamy for my liking, and the strong rose scent can be a bit sickening. Also I feel like I really have to scrub my face after I use it, as it seems to leave a residue behind. If you have really dry and very sensitive skin, this might be worth trying, but I'm still searching for the perfect cleanser!
