Love this mascara! It volumizes and lengthens at the same time. I will admit, it can get clumpy depending on how you apply it. I usually take my time and let each coat dry before applying another.
Also, my local Sephora told me that they were discontinuing this line of mascara, so they were on sale for $4. I suggest calling to see if it's also on sale at your local Sephora!

PROS:
Very nice, glossy black
No weird smell
Stays on (not flakey)
Gives tons of volume
CONS:
Clumpy, clumpy, clumpy!
Takes 1,000 yrs to dry
Not good for "building layers"
I got a small sample of this stuff and really liked how thick it made my lashes look - almost like falsies. So I bought a tube and the first thing I noticed was that the brush wash different and weird, with really short and prickly bristles. When I applied it, it went on so goopy that my lashes were smashed together into clumps that looked like tarantula legs. I looked like Tammy Faye Baker, it was awful. The more I tried to separate my lashes with the brush, the worse it got. After some experimenting, I learned to put it on differently and it actually looks fantastic. I find that they key is to wipe the brush until there is almost nothing left on it, THEN apply it; let it dry and apply another couple coats the same way. When you build light layers like this, the result is big, soft, pretty lashes.
It's not my everyday mascara, as it gives a heavier "evening" look. It gets a 4 because of the annoying way you have to put it on. Otherwise, great product for when you want to look a little more done-up.

I got this in a sample at sephora and it is horrible. I dont have reactions to mascaras, but using this makes my eyes itchy, wattery, and it burns a little. Not good. It does a wonderful job volumizing, but its gross to try and apply. It gets all over my hands and its really goopy. And smears like crazy! If u were to buy a mascara at sephora, get the make up for ever smokey lash, not this one! Its aweful.

Terrible! Takes at least 5 minutes before I can get definition on a SINGLE eye, the plastic bristle feels uncomfortable when run through my lashes, I end up with thin spider legs. Definitely not the look I was going for! Onto the next!
(I can see this working for ppl who were practically born with falsies)

Fifteen dollars for a mascara is more than my mom would let me pay for. She thinks that even seven or eight dollars for a Maybelline or Covergirl mascara is expensive. But hey, that's what nice relatives are for, right? Anyways, I love how this mascara gives me instant volume, length, and va-va-va-voom lashes. It doesn't smear or flake on me at all, which is great! If you're tempted to buy this mascara...go for it!

Gross x 10 :-/ . I usually love Sephora products and I normally use Sephora's "Lash Plumper" mascara for volume (which I really like). But I got this as a sample and decided to try it out. I wanted to like it because it seems to have slightley healthier ingredients in it, but it was disgusting looking. The worst clumps I've had from any mascara I've ever used, and I applied it correctly. Maybe I got a bad sample or something, but if it's like the one I got, it just looks like everything you don't want a mascara to look like: clumpy, flakey, goopy, unseparated lashes, no volume or length.. just not pretty at all.

This is one of my favorite mascaras, but I think I can understand why some ladies have issues with it. First of all, when I first started using Atomic Volume, I was in LOVE. It gave my lashes separation and some drama, and the color was black, black, black. With an eyelash curler, my eyes looked smoldering.
However, after two months, it is a little crumbly, flaky. So I guess for $15, it's not bad so long as you don't mind having to buy a new one faithfully. That sounds lame, but you're not supposed to keep the same tube of mascara on hand for much longer than that anyway, depending on your usage, the quality of the product, etc.

I have pretty nice natural lashes so this works very well for me. It adds a nice coat to my eyelashes and I never need to wear falsies.

I don't get why this doesn't have 5 lippies?! This is my abosulte HG mascara. When all of my friends complain about their mascara & talk about shopping for another one I always recommend this & they all come running back saying that it's a GODSEND. I love this mascara, leaves my eyelashes looking thick, curly, and extra dark. I already have long lashes & when I put this on it looks like I have falsies on! Super sexy.

I'm also in the camp of people who first got this as a sample and loved it, then bought the full size version and for some reason lost that loving feeling. It's certainly not the worst mascara I've ever tried, but it's far from a repurchase. It clumps easily and the brush is somewhat unwieldy, and if you try to apply a second coat, you will get terrible tarantula eyes. The search for the perfect mascara continues...

I really like this mascara from sephora.. i purchased it for 20 $ which is admittedly pretty expensive for a mascara but if you're someone who is looking for something that will give a lovely non - clumpy and irresistibly dark finish to your lashes.. then this is it! I really like the brush because I never get clumps and it separates amazingly.. plus I can use this brush on my lower lashes.. unlike the covergirl lash blast which i use as well.

I like this mascara for everyday use. It does not give me the 'dramatic' look of others, but it seperates my lashes well, and washes off easily. I have not experienced any problems with flaking or smudging, but I have noticed that the tube drys out faster than any other mascara that I have tried. I still got 8 weeks out of the tube before drying out and changing consistancy (I don't think that you are supposed to use the same tube of mascara for much longer than that anyway).

Contrary to lots of other reviewers, I love this mascara because it DOESN'T give me clumps or spidery lashes! I always wipe the wand on the neck of the tube because too much tends to come out and if you do put too much on, you risk crispy lashes, but if you wipe it you get great results. The wand has one row of longer bristles which act like a comb and separate my lashes, making them look long and full. It lasts all day without smudging or flaking and the only downside is that it's a little pricey and I can only buy it when I go to France.

Yikes! I received a sample of this and decided to give it a try. While I do appreciate that the black is a deep, pitch black (and not gray like some brands) -- this mascara made my eyelashes look like crunchy little twigs. It took away the curl, and my lashes were left like spidery awnings, just sort of hanging there. For reference, I have short and thin lashes.

I tried this one after finding my usual brand was drying up too quickly in the tube. I really like it and prefer this style of brush over the thicker ones. I like that it gives me the ability to separate my lashes and I do not need to wipe the wand before applying. I will purchase again for sure. Took off one lippie as I have found it to dry in the tube, but that won't stop me from trying it again.

No, no, NOOOOOO! What a terrible mascara!! I don't know why it doesn't work on my lashes, it gives me spiderlegs! It takes me 10 minutes per eye to get it right(ish), and sometimes it just doesn't work out at all, and I end up taking everything off again and starting over with a different mascara! It's just too much work, I like my mascara a bit easier. Will NOT re-buy.

WOW! This is amazing - looks like I wear false eyelashes when I wear this. Lashes are *so* well separated, dark, and sooo long! I can't decide if it's the brush or the formula, but when it's time to buy a new masacara, I may skip the drugstore this time and buy this.

I also received this product as a free sample, and used it pretty much every day for two months straight until it got dried out and was ready to pitch out. I loved it. The brush is fanastic at coating and separating my lashes, and this mascara never flakes on me. It's easy to remove at the end of the day, too. I would repurchase for sure.
