I love this oil. i use it every evening as my first makeup removal /cleansing step. 3 drops on my hand then applied on damp face. after massaging it into the face you add a little water and it turns into a soft milky cream. Makeup comes off easily leaving my face soft and bright. Unfortunately in Europe it seems to have been put out of production and this is no good news! would have repurchased for ever.

This is a must miss for sure. I use the creme mousse confort and bi-facil. I wanted a makeup remover, one step, one product, that included the eye area. This is not the one. It clogged my pores, left an oily residue on my skin and I needed to cleanse my face and eye area a second time after using this product. This will most definitely be a return.

If you have the cash, this is an EXCELLENT all-over makeup remover. It smells good, dissolves long-wearing liquid foundation and waterproof eye makeup, and comes in a handy pump rather than a squirty tube. I most likely won't splurge on it again, but it's on my birthday wishlist.

This was one of my all time favorite cleansing oils. It removes everything effortlessly, including waterproof mascara. Just apply 2 pumps on dry skin, add water to emulsify and rinse. Rinses easily without leaving any residue behind, yet not drying the skin (shu) or breaking me out (DHC).
With other cleansing oils (Nude), I've had to work really hard in the massaging/rubbing stage because it is so thick and does not spread easily. This is something I try to avoid at all costs, especially around the eye area. Rinsing is also a pain with some other cleansers (Nude) and some just don't take everything off (Boscia). This is gentle yet very effective. I use this as make up/sunscreen remover and follow up with a gentle SLS free cleanser. I'll skip 2nd cleanse it if my skin is extra dry or sensitive that day. I love the bottle design and the scent. Daily use has lasted me well over 9 months.
The only reason I will not repurchase this again is because Lancome is owned by L'Oreal and L'Oreal test their products on animals. I will go back to Amore Pacific oil cleanser which is just as good and has a better ingredient list and cruelty free policies.

I'm definately not a cleansing oil devotee - this is the only third I've used (if Ponds Cold Cream or LUSH Ultrabland counts, then I guess this is my fifth try). Thus far - in comparison to shu's A/O Green and Laneige's Moisturizing Cleansing Oils, the Lancome is far and away my favourite.
I still use LRP's Toleraine Dermo-Cleanse for days I'm just wearing TM & MAC MSFN, and a seperate eye makeup remover, but this is an absolute must on days or, more usually nights, I'm using a foundation. This works as well at removing the light Bobbi Brown Skin, as it does the medium-buildable Chanel Pro Lumiere. I have sensitive, normal to dry, clog-prone skin. This product - though I don't use it everyday - has yet (a half a bottle in) to disappoint, cause any massive breakouts or clogging. While I usually like to follow up either the LRP or this cleanser with a second cleanse of regular cleanser (Caudalie Gentle Cleanser in Canadian Winter, and either Cetaphil Gentle, or Avene Extra Gentle the rest of the year), there have been nights I've just used this, and crashed immediately after using to wake up to non-irritated skin.
However, one thing that really strikes me about this oil cleanser versus the shu or even the Laneige, is how little it really emulsifies. Whereas the shu and the Laneige both turn almost an electric, bright white on my skin once I add some water, this tends to take a bit longer and a bit more water to get it to emulsify, though it still does. I can see why some might not like it - as someone who's a big fan of wipe-off cleansers (I usually wipe off even Cetaphil), milk cleansers and cleansing waters, the fact it doesn't really emulsify doesn't bother me all that much. As someone who hasn't used a foaming cleanser of any sort in the last probably year and a half, the fact that this, again, doesn't emulsify right away or even really well isn't something that bothers me,
Unlike the Laneige and shu, this has no detectable scent. With the shu, I'd pump some into my hand and it seemed like the entire bathroom smelled like a cucumber sandwich - no problem like this with the Lancome. I find both the shu and Lancome to be equally effective in removing foundation, set powder, blush, contour and the occasional bronzer, with the Laneige being slightly behind the other two. The reason I will continue to buy the Lancome over the shu is the convenience of it. With shu counters being relegated to Holts here, it's a bit less easy to get - whereas I can walk into my local Shoppers Drug Mart and pick this up, or Murale, or Sephora, or any of the Lancome counters at my local Sears or the Bay. Not to mention the appeal of getting more Optimum Points on a 10x or 20x the Points Day at SDM or Murale.
All in all, it's a great oil cleanser - on par with shu, in my opinion. It really is something you have to try out for yourself. Given how a strong emuslification process can be something of a comfort to people, it's something to sample before you buy, if at all possible. If you are a huge fan of milky cleansers you have to wipe off, and have sensitive, dry-leaning skin, I definately think it's worth trying out. Great product, and one of Lancome's absolute best.

Let me open by saying I am an oil (and balm) cleansing devotee. I LOVE oil cleansers. To be more specific, I love oil-based balms, oils, and cleansing creams -- in that order. My all-time favorite cleanser is Eve Lom, which is a cleansing balm. I adore everything about it BUT the price, which is oppressive and obsene. So I've been on a quest to find cleansers that can substitute (but never replace) it. What i love about Eve Lom is about how clean it rinses. It removes everything and even your wash cloth rinses completely clean. It takes off sunscreen (which I wear daily) and makeup perfectly. But this is not an Eve Lom review. That just gives you an idea of what I am looking for in a cleanser. Something that removes my sunscreen and full face of makeup while rinsing clean and not drying out my sensitive, dry skin. My favorite oil cleanser has been Babor's Hy-ol with the Sensitive Phytoactive. It rinses well and is a wonderful product. The only down side is using the two bottles. Plus, I like to mix up my cleansers from time to time -- always on the quest for the holy grail and I think it's fun that way. Plus I think my skin likes it when I alternate cleansers over time and don't use the same one for many months at a time. So I decided to try Lancome's oil cleanser during the Sephora FF sale. And I have to say I am very impressed with it. It is an excellent cleanser. I love the texture, how well it removes EVERYTHING. How it doesn't dry my skin. The packaging is great, too. It's pump is superior to other pumps. But what I loves the most is how it works. It is amazing stuff. For oil cleansers, I have used Shiseido's, Shu's (various ones from Shu), DHC's, Lumene's, MAC's, Bobbi Brown's, Lumene's and Babor's, and Lancome and Babor are by far my favorites. My least favorite is MAC's. I have not tried Origin's oil cleanser, so I do want to try it as well. But this Lancome gets 5 lipsticks. I'm already getting a backup. And it will remain a regular in my cleansing arsenal. My love of this product is causing me to want to check out and/or revisit other Lancome skin products. Lancome's Bi-facil, along with TheBalm Balm's Away, are my two favorite eye makeup removers. Lancome makes some really solid products, so I'm going to give their other skincare a closer look. But if you like oil cleansers, I cannot recommend this product enough.

This is my indulgence cleanser. On the weekends, I remove my eyeliner and mascara with a damp cottonball, then use safflower oil and another damp cotton ball to get everything off, then this all over and remove with a damp washcloth - wet, wring, wipe and repeat 2 times. Boy, does it ever smell fabulous! I wouldn't buy it for myself; I love my Cetaphil and Ponds. But it is buy-worthy.

This product is good. It cleanses well and does not strip my skin too much. The scent is AWESOME. It smells like tea to me even though I don't see any tea listed in the ingredients. I takes me 2,5 pumps to clean my whole face. Overall, I find it's above average but it doesn't do wonders. I didn't break me out or anything but since it's too expensive, at least for me, I expected it to do a little better. I probably will buy it if I don't have any other choice but i will still look for a better oil cleanser.

I bought this in order to get a gift set for my mother. The smell can be a bit cloying but I have gotten used to it. It does help loosen the heavy duty makeup but I still follow up with another cleanser because I have acne-prone skin *shrugs*. I doubt I would repurchase this again because I am making the full switch to mineral makeup and that stuff doesn't require heavy duty cleansing step. Plus I am planning to use this one I purchased up or swap it if I noticed that my skin starts turning on me.

The was my first venture into the world of oil cleansers. I chose Lancome because it was readily available at a department store near me, and because my research led me to believe this cleanser would not be drying for my skin. I have sensitive skin that is acne-prone and extremely oily (but easily dehydrated). I never use foaming cleansers because they tend to be too drying. But, my skin is also oily, so finding a good cleanser is always a challenge. An oil-based cleanser would normally be counter-intuitive for me, but given the raves on the skincare board, I decided to try it.
Sor far, so good!! I use two pumps on dry skin and allow it to soak, then (with dry hands) I massage into my skin. I rinse with lukewarm water and follow with another cleanser (Cerave). I've been using this product for over a week now and have noticed a difference in my skin. It feels soft and smooth The first few days, I experienced some purging (mostly on my chin). My skin has responded really well, and the purging has subsided. Initially, my skin became less oily, but I've now returned to my normal, greasy self.
I also use retin-a-micro almost every night (it took a long time to build up to nightly use). I've noticed that this cleanser has dramatically reduced the "flakey" look of my skin. I have struggled to gently exfoliate these flakes since I started using RAM, and this cleanser has virtually eliminated this problem. The flakes are easily and gently dislodged by the oil and the massaging. Despite my sensitive skin, I've had no reaction to the fragrance or the ingredients in this product.
I would definitely repurchase, though I will probably try something else (because this is my nature). HTH!
UPDATE(04/17/10): I used this cleansing oil consistently since November 2009 and recently discontinued using it. Why? Well, for some reason, it began to bother my skin. I started to wake up with more irritation, and my rosacea began to flare up. I would recommend it only to someone without sensitive skin (who is slightly on the dry side).

This is the first cleansing oil I've used but I really love it. It smells wonderful and light and I love how it emulsifies with water. This oil is more convenient for me to buy than any other brand so I'll probably stick with it. The bottle is big and it looks classy, and the pump doesn't leak, which is something I was worried about. It feels luxurious to use and it's nice when I'm tired of plain ol' Noxzema. I would repurchase this and I don't feel an urge to try another brand.

I originally wanted to buy the Laura Mercier cleansing oil, but the sales assistant directed me towards this. I am SO glad I bought this. This is a slightly pre-mature review; I've been using it for four days now. I've had some left over cystic acne inflammation from trying various foundations over the summer. I noticed the next morning after using this stuff that the inflammation had gone way down. It also helped heal other blemishes, made my skin feel softer, and seems to help with my black heads. I think this stuff is a real winner for me!
EDIT: I think this is clogging my pores, but it's going to be quite a process to figure out if this is what's causing it. I'm using it as an eye make up remover in the meanwhile.

It's my fist time to try this cleanser. It works really well to remove all kinds of makeup in just few seconds and as it's oil based, I think it's ideal for dry skin. It works for me as well, though my skin type is quite oily. When I use it, I get about 1-2 pumps and massage it on my face, then use lukewarm water to wash everything off and after this I will clean my face again with regular cleanser, just to get off the oily feeling (if you have dry skin, I guess you won't need to wash off the oil). I would get another one if I have no time to find something else.

Definitely the best smelling cleansing oil as well as one of the least drying. I'm a little sad to have to discontinue using this after just two days and go back to my Shu Uemura A/O Premium. I've had sensitivity issues with the majority of Lancome's skincare - mainly because of their high fragrance content. The irritation I'm getting with this product might also be from the blend of oils it contains. I did use a toner afterwards like usual, but in the morning I woke up to several whitehead breakouts as well as an overally feeling of tenderness to my skin...like it's on the verge of having a rash-type reaction. Up for swap this goes! ~~~INGREDIENTS: mineral oil * corn germ oil * PEG-20 glyceryl triisostearate * ethyhexyl stearate * safflower seed oil * sorbitan trioleate * polysorbate 85 * parfum/fragrance * water * isopropyl lauroyl sarcosinate * isostearic acid * ethylhexylglycerin * glycerin * rosa canina fruit oil * pentaerythrityl tetra-di-t-butyl hydroxyhydrocinnamate * benzyl salicylate * limonene * capryloyl glycine * arginine * propylene glycol * rosa gallica flower extract * cryptomeria japonica bud extract * nellumbium speciosum flower extract * D28488/1

I have only tried two commercial oil-based cleansers: the Shu high performance cleansing oil and this. Between this and the Shu, the Lancome wins hands down.
Pros
- takes all of my makeup off with little effort. My daily routine usually involves difficult to remove products like liquid foundation, eyeliner, waterproof mascara. I use around two pumps on a dry face, massage in, then add water to emulsify. Followed with a cleanser afterward, everything comes off.
- great smell. Not too strong or irritating, just cool and refreshing.
- a much more workable consistency. This is a little bit thicker than the Shu, which is as runny as water. The added thickness and reduced runniness makes it easier to control and spread onto your face.
- I never got any irritations or break-outs with this.
- great packaging. I love the pump AND the top lid. To me this bottle also looks a lot more sturdier than the one you get with the Shu oil.
- for around the same price, you get 200 ml instead of 150ml that you do with the Shu Uemura.
Cons
- a bit expensive. I paid around 40 CDN for the 200 ml bottle. However, I think it's going to last me at least 3 months, so it's not as daunting as it seems.
- truth be told, this does not do a better job than simply rubbing my face with a cotton ball that has been dipped in olive oil. What you're paying for with this oil is the simplicity and a few minutes saved.
- it would not be as effective if used as per the instruction - i.e. without following up with a cleanser afterward. Both the MA at the store and the Lancome representative I emailed informed me that there is no need to follow up with a cleanser unless I have really oily skin. My skin is not very oily but I still feel that unless I cleanse aferward, my skin is left with a slight oily film and a dryness to it.
Basically, this is a satisfactory product - I've seen worse but I predict there's probably better ones out there. I may repurchase in the future, but probably not before I experiment with some other similar products out there.

Two disclaimers: 1) I am not remotely breakout prone; 2) this is my first-ever cleansing oil so I don't have much to compare it to. That said, I love Lancome products, they all seem to work very well for me, both makeup and skincare, and this was no exception. It was rec'd to me by a MUAer for use with the Clarisonic, and it's just lovely in that combo. It lathers up a little when used with the Clarisonic or if you rub deeply. My skin is dry even in summer, and this leaves my skin feeling very soft and not oily. I don't wear a lot of makeup in summer so I don't have a feel yet for how well it works for removing all product, but my skin certainly feels 'clean' enough. (As I said, I've never been breakout prone, so it's hard for me to judge it on that level, but it doesn't tweak my rosacea, which is my main concern with any product.) It's what I would categorize as 'very' expensive, but the bottle/pump is pretty well designed and you really only need 2 pumps per use. I could see this lasting several months at least.

EXCELLENT!! Im in love with this product. It's right up there beside of my all time fave Decleor Cleansing MILK!! It removes eye makeup like a charm and smells so so good. I Usually use this only in the morning time and in the morning and evenings on the weekends. It is just an all-star product to me. The packaging is easy to use and beautifull. Try IT! (dosen't cause breakouts!)
UPDATE: Yes, this is a decent product....BUT, to me it's not worth the price for what it is. The ingredients aren't too natural and it's expensive for the amount that you get. I could find something healthier and cheaper.

I don't wear foundation, powder, blush, etc., so I can't speak to Huile Douceur's ability to remove these, but I really enjoy using it. It smells heavenly. I massage it onto dry skin, and wipe it off with a damp washcloth. I'm hard-pressed to understand how a washcloth could fail to dislodge any kind of makeup. Just basic friction regardless of what product is used would do the trick. Oh, well. I certainly love it.
I got it from someone who is skeeved out at the thought of oil on her face. I don't know what it costs. I probably won't buy it myself given that Cetaphil has been good to me for so many years. But I do love it.

This is a great oil based cleanser from Lancome. You put it on your face dry and then put your fingers under the tap with lukewarm water running. Then place your fingers to rub over your face which causes the oil to remove the makeup and cleanse your face! It's amazing. It works really well, you can even use it on your eyes. Definitely my favorite oil cleanser!!
