This was my first experience with Tarte e/s & i rather like it. But i will say i don't like the e/l that comes with this, it seemed waxy & irritated my eyes but the colors were pretty :( The brush is ok but id rather use sponge tips (nothing against their brush, i have to do this w/ all shadows due to the powder & my sensitive eyes). This has a nice neutral range of shades that i like to wear so this is a good find for me for the workday.

I only liked this palette in theory; I ended up giving it away.
Pros:
Lovely, buttery shadow texture
Interesting selection of colours
Pretty, rich-looking, case with a big mirror
Refillable
Came with a double-ended brush
Came with a double-ended eyeliner
Interesting little instruction sheet
Cons:
I was sensitive to the shadow formula, made my eyes water
Colours didn't work together
Colours seemed muddy and pale
WAY too much shimmer in this palette
Liner was a bit dry
Case too bulky for travel, lock adornment gets in the way of stacking/storing
Disappointing, but not a keeper.

I'm loving this palette. The colors are gorgeous, pigmented, and go on super smooth. I also like how they give you a card with ideas on how to wear the shadows, it's unnecessary, but a nice touch. The only negative I can really find is the packaging. Its cute, but it's bulky and doesn't store well.

The color palette was selected to have the colors able to work with each other. The color combinations are great.
Pigmented, yet subtle colors.
You can pat some more on and make the color darker/brighter (depending on what color you used).
The brush included actually has its uses. If you do not own your own brush set, the brush works. Learn how to use it!
The eyeliner has two ends. And the two shades are great. Comes on creamy.
Easily works with any of the colors in the palette.
This set was put together with thought.
Cruetly Free
Vegan
I love it.
Can be for every day or to create formal looks.

good color range, although the lighter colors are too frosty. great for both day and night.

LOVE these shadows! Very pigmented and long lasting when used with UD primer potion! Doesnt budge without cleanser! Comes with ten shadows, travel size primer ( that works fairly well although i wouldnt by separately) a double sided eyeliner one end black the other brown and a really good quality double ended shadow brush one side is fluffy the other is short and dense domed shaped AND this is a cruelty free vegan cosmetic company so in my opinion this is an all around good qualty product. the only negative is the packaging they really should get rid of the latch along with the annoying lock and key tassle it is a hassle when trying to keep the pallete opened

Update 4/21/11: I did end up returning it after taking it on a trip. This set just wasn't working out for me and I couldn't justify keeping it for the three brown shades I did like. Money and space wise it wasn't worth it, especially since I wouldn't use it. I guess I'm not into soft looks, but it seems to be working out for everyone else so give it a try.
This is my first palette from Tarte. When I first brought this home and tried it out I seriously considered returning it, which looks like might have already have been the case as mine was missing the instruction cards and the contents were sort of haphazardly in the box. In the store I swatched the colors on my arm and was sold when I saw the purple with gold shimmer. But these just don't look as nice or pigmented on at home, and the purple turns into a rather dull gray color with no sign of the gold shimmer. The lighter shades are a bit too chalky and look the same on me, even the silver shimmer looks the same as the light pink shade and the light beige.
On to the positives. While I do not much care for the lighter shades, the brown colors are pretty and pigmented. I like using the brush included in the kit for a quick eye look, as opposed to the multiple brushes I usually use. The eyeliners go on smoothly (though not as creamy as Urban Decay's liners) and do not migrate or disappear during the day.I also really like the quilted purple package, I'm bringing it to travel because it looks like it can withstand a little abuse. So for these things I decided to keep this palette, but I do not foresee wanting to try another of Tarte's eye shadows in the future. I think I've been a bit spoiled by Urban Decay and Too Faced's shadows, because for others this palette seems to be quite lovely.

These are nice quality shadows in excellent packaging, but bottom line, but colors are just bizarre, and really don't match up. I find I can't wear the "day" collection at all - the colors are way too metallic to be attractive and are just plain ugly on my fair skin. The night collection is a bit more matte and while somewhat darker, looks more appropriate in a professional environment.
This came with a nice card to give tips on how to apply the shadows, eyeliner, a double ended application brush, and primer. My primer arrived dried up, so I can't comment on how well that works. The brushes work okay, I would have prefered a more tapered brush as neither end works well to apply a thin line.
I had a coupon and only ended up spending about $15 on this - I'm glad, it's about what it's worth. For full price, I'd avoid it. The packaging, however, is adorable!

Ahhhh! I love this pallette so much. There's not one shadow that's bad. All of them have such a smooth buttery texture to it. You can create so many different looks with this, from a deal dramatic smokey eye to really light bright eyed looks. I love using the bronzey shades for daily use. So pretty and definitely well worth the money since it comes with a great dual ended brush(that's actually really good), sample size of their eye primer, and a dual ended eyeliner.

This was my second purchase of a Tarte product and I was not let down. These colors are generally lighter than those in my favorite Femme Naturale palette, but I love this one because it gives you a lot of soft shimmer colors to put down as base colors and build from there which really does make this a Day-to-Night palette. Wonderful shimmer silver and pink!

I will get this palette again if I ever loss it, but I don't think this will run out, I think it will last me through my lifetime. The colors combination are great, and it blends well, I think the color is just very natural for the skin and just a great product with great ingredents.

I am in love with this palette. I've used soooo many times. I love the pigmentation of the colors. They are so silky smooth too. i think this is Tarte's best palette. The others are chalkier. :( still good with a good base, but chalky.
I love the bronze and golden colors, gunmetal color too. Granted not all of us are going to love every single color. I have a few I don't really use. Not bc I don't think they're good, but bc they're just not colors I typically wear. For example the light colors... I'll just pass them on to my mom somehow. lol
As for the packaging. i like it. I don't think it's cheap looking at all. I feel glamorous with it.
However, I could care less about the packaging. These e/s are friggin amazing.

I really love this palette! Normally, I don't buy palettes because I will rarely use all of the colors. This Tarte palette is the rare exception. Another plus is that there is little to no fallout with these shadows, which being a contact wearer is wonderful. I love the purple packaging, but it is a little awkward to store. This is the palette I find myself reaching for everyday. If I would ever run out (I don't see that happening since the shadows are so big) then I would probably repurchase.

I LOVE THIS PALETTE! I love all the colors. I was running low on my blacktied eyeshadow by mac and noticed the black shadow in this palette is the perfect dupe. I can use all the colors and to make them last and remain true to color i use my too faced shadow insurance beforehand. For $44, how can anyone complain, well atleast i can't there's alot in here for your money. I use my mac 239 brush to apply these patting it on and the 217 to sheer out my crease but i will use the brush it comes with eventually. Great colors, quality and good bang for my buck!

Some of these eyeshadowns are pretty nice. I like that they are mae of good quality ingrediants. BUT if you have any makeup already, then you may want to reconsider buying these palettes, as they take up so much space.
This lead me to a rant about how much I HATE the packaging. Most Tarte packaging is really clunky, and this is no exception. But the other palettes at least have removeable pans. Tarte sell refillable quads on their site, which they sell for a $1. These are still 6x too large, and the pans often don't come pout without causing damage to the makeup... but still. Its either that or buy a train case for just your tarte eyemakeup.
But these shadows are GLUED IN. So I actually crushed them all into 3g jars. This is the only way they would fit into my train case.Took forever and I lost 1/3 of the product.
I think most of thee colors can be found elswhere. But a couple of them are retty nice and not so easy to replace. So I guess I am glad I bought it, though I wouldn't reccomend it to a friend or rebuy ut.

I bought this during the 20% off sale. I do like some of the e/s but most are way too glittery. I also wish it was in a regular compact instead of a purse, or the individual e/s could be taken out. I returned it....

I would rate this a 3 because I dont love everything about it.
Good: The eyeshadows consistency is too die for. They are very pigmented, melt in your skin suede and velvety textures. They are big sized and will last forever. The brush is high quality, and the eyeliner is ok. This is a good kit but its not the best.
Bad: I'm not really convinced with the color collection. Its a little dull: greys/purple and bieges/browns. I was hoping for more pop like their Femme Fatale palette. I dont love case, it looks cheap quilt with lock, looks like dollar store palette from the outside, inside the eyeshadows are not replaceable like their other palettes.
I got this for $26 ($44 regular price), I should love everything about it.

Since tarte was having a great sale I decided to finally try some of their products out. The Eye Couture palette looked like a great deal, and especially so with a fab discount, so I bought one. Got my shipment today and tried it out and WOW I'm in love! Color pay off is wonderful and really great shimmer. Not tried the e/s out on a hot or active day so will have to update about that. Also I think I'm converted from MAC, when it comes to eyeshadows, because of these. One tarte e/s pan holds 1.75 grams (0.06 oz) of shadow and is $14. MAC's e/s singles holds 1.5 grams (0.05 oz) of shadow and is $14.50. This pallette holds all full size e/s singles. Even full price that's a great deal with the amount of shadows it holds. I also like that it's free of many harsh chemicals, like parabens. Will be looking into buying another tarte palette soon!

Originally I was attracted to only one shade from this palette, the dark shimmery brown. I was disappointed to see that Tarte did not offer any of the eyeshadows in singles and they only come in palette. But I really did love the dark brown shadow so I decided to splurge. I ended up loving the whole palette. It's so versatile and you really can use this for day and night. The lighter pastel colors at first looked like colors I would never wear but they are so soft, smooth and beautiful. They show up as a sheer pretty wash of color. It works great as a base of a highlighter. I love using the brown and bronze shade with lighter pastel colors for day and the dark brown and black shadow for night. The bronze eye pencil looks beautiful and soft for day time looks. Overall, I really like this entire palette. I just wish it was a smaller compacted kit. The little lock is cute too, you can also detach it and use it as a real lock on your luggage.

The packaging is adorable, which I was originally attracted to. Although it is quite a steal for the amount of shadows, I have come to realize the colours are not as versatile as I expected. I ended up mainly using the black and the golden highlighter colour. The other colours are too muted in my opinion or too flat. I have extremely oily lids, so I used this in conjunction with UDPP. I barely touched the eyeliner pencil, gold on one side and grey on the other.
