I really like Kiehls and I wanted to like this product again (maybe i will someday when i don't have dry/acne-prone skin) but for how my skin is now I didn't feel like this product didn't help moisturize my skin at all. It also didn't rub in well and sat white on my skin for several minutes then disappeared leaving my skin feeling dry. This product reminds me of glue. it smells like glue as well. Just doesn't work for my very dry sensitive skin.

I love this product in winter, when my skin really needs a bit of babying. In a world of high-tech face creams that promise all sorts of magical results, sometimes contain a whole bunch of harsh ingredients or ones with totally made-up names, and have painfully high price tags, Kiehls Panthenol Protein Moisturizing Cream seems refreshingly simple and sometimes "simple" works. I only use this at night and only in winter - I find it too rich to wear under makeup in the day-time and a bit too heavy for warm, humid summertime use. Initially, I got a sample packet of this as I wasn't sure I'd like the heavy texture but, as I said, in winter, this is a terrific and soothing night cream.

I really liked it, it did amazing things to my skin. It moisturised my skin when it was in really bad condition and I used it for some months, it seems to be never-ending
BUT
after some time it started to bother me that it leaves my skin sticky with strong shiny film... It didnt help much with flaking either.
Also on really dry irritated areas it hurt me and didnt calm my skin.

I found something better for me, so I stopped using it.

After reading fantastic reviews, i decided to give this product a try. My skins not that sensitive to products I use, however, i started breaking out after using this. I'm not sure if was the product that caused it or various other factors (change of environment/weather/hormones etc). It's very thick so good for people with dry skin, but I felt like it just sat on top of my skin without being fully absorbed. Eventually, the cream settled, but it felt to oily when I first applied it.

I use it once in a while on my dry spots before applying makeup. the price is good for the amount you get! Overall, not bad!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product! Before using this i was using the ultra facial cream which I was really happy with because it hydrates my skin. However I found that this product is a richer version which is better for me since I live in a cold climate. Not to mention how cheap this product is compared to others.

Very good night cream. Not greasy at all and absorbs completely. Leaves my skin soft and hydrated. Fragrance free which is a plus. I just wish it came in a squeeze or pump bottle. Jars are not the most hygienic and some ingredients are compromised when exposed to light. Large quantity for only $26. Great value.

In the winter my skin can get very dry. I have normal skin by the way. I decided to purchase the Panthenol Protein Moisturizing Face Cream, I only use a pea size amount on each section of my face, and I would break out. I wanted to like this moisturizer because it is inexpensive compared to Philosophy or Murad. Yet, drug store brands like Clean and Clear do nothing for my face. The last time I used the Kiehls my skin was very dry and I used again a very small amount and I broke out; I'm currently looking for a moisturizer that isn't so heavy on my face. If you have dry skin you probably won't have any problems with this product, however, if you have normal skin like me, stay away.

As of recent, I have dry, sensitive skin that is prone to irritation/rash/tiny white pimples on my cheeks if I use the wrong products. My skin wasn't always this angry until about a year ago, when it did a total 360 for what seemed to be overnight. Now I have to be very cautious with the products I use.

This is a light, scentless, white, cream that comes in a screw-top tub. At Nordstroms, the Panthenol was $26 for a huge 4oz. tub and will last forever since you don't need a lot at all.(however, it's a bear to travel with). I use the Panthenol at night after cleansing and awake to even and supple skin. However, I cannot use this every night, it's simply too rich for me and causes clogged pores and eventually, some irritation.

****Update 6/9/12: I've since moved on to Estee lauder's Verite Calming Fluid and Moisture Relief Cream, this stuff was great every few days but I needed something I could use daily and not have to worry about breakouts.

First year that the winter harshness really affected my face, usually i can pass by with just a few dry spots that go away quickly but i had dry spots that actually felt irritated, was red, and painful to touch at times. I stopped wearing foundation but it didn't completely "fix" my skin so i was on a hunt for a better moisturizer. I saw the good reviews on this and decided to try it since i was desperate. It does not feel too pasty to me, but i took the advice of previous reviewers and only used it after my shower. My skin isn't acne-prone, main problem is the dryness, so i don't know how it would react to oily skin. I like that its plain, both in scent and packaging. it has slowly fixed the dry spots, but i've only used it 3 times, will update if anything changes but so far so good!

I initially bought this as my skin got really dry in the Australian winter. Since moving back to Singapore, this cream's been a little too thick for the climate change. I was hesitant to use it because I have really sensitive skin that is prone to clogging and breaking out. However, I have found that using just a dab and spreading it really thin at night does the trick nicely, and I wake up with really soft skin. The product comes in a really basic white plastic tub that doesn't really bother me, except that it leaked a little during the flight. Price wise, it's very affordable, and a huge plus for me is that to my knowledge, Kiehls is an animal friendly brand (hope this is still the case!).

I had high hopes for this one. It's very very heavy and thick. Almost paste like. I can only wear this at night because It tends to leave a greasy film that lasts for days, even after washing. I find that I have to deep clean my skin after using this otherwise my pores will clog-up. Forget about trying to use this 2x a day. Getting it off your skin takes a lot of deep cleaning work. I gave up using it on my face. I felt it was defeating the purpose. I now use it as a throat and neck cream.

just for moisturizing , this one is perfect, smooth, safe for sensitive skin, absolutely moisturize skin. but don't expect too much that this cream has extra effectiveness. I use this with other anti-aging serum for day.

This is one of the two best winter moisturizers I've ever used, the other being the Clarins After Sun Replenishing Moisture Care.
The advantage of this creme is that it hydrates so intensely yet won't aggravate any oilier areas or make your pores look big. It's also a great deal!
The advantage of the Clarins product is that is smells great (I prefer lightly scented products) and the packaging is more attractive.
I usually end up using the Kiehl's product at home and the Clarins one on the road (I'm a flight attendant so I travel every week).
If Kiehls would put a nice, sheer scent in this and put it in a pump I'd be overjoyed, but it's a true HG product even as it is.

ok after using this for about 3 months, I can honestly say that it is ALOT OF thickness, and it's just too heavy.
When I apply this after I tone my face, it applies like paste.
Then it doesn't quite sink. maybe it does but by then I'm sleeping. Also in the morning, I have literally 15 minutes to get ready. I don't have forever for this cream to sink in before applying my sunscreen and foundation.
It's just too thick! Too heavy!
And you'd think being as thick and heavy as it is, it would at least moisturize like mad. Well it doesn't. It moisturized on a regular level. which is actually good. When applied, it does not feel greasy or like my skin has a heavy layer of cream on it. It surprisingly provides a pretty well balanced moisture level. I do wish however, that it would moisturize a *TAD* big more. I have dry since and I live in Canada where it's generally pretty dry.
It's a solid three for me. Nothing special.
It does come in a huge jar so you do get a lot of product for a reasonable price.
i must be in the minority here, since I don't care for this. I don't think it moisturizes very well (I prefer biotherm for more moisture) and it doesn't even feel that great. I also see absolutely no improvement in my skin's tone and texture.

This is a great moisturizer! Much better than the ultra facial moisturizer which did not sink in. I was skeptical about this because I don't have dry skin and I already found the ultra moisturizer too greasy, but I just use a little bit and it keeps my face from feeling tight and makes it feel soft and, well, moisturized! I would recommend this product for most skin types - those with drier skin just may need to use more product for it to sink in.

I love this unscented cream! It's a fuss free type product that is thick and moisturising. I had a breakout whilst using a rosehip oil recently by Kora Organics, so I started using this as it was sitting around my room for a while now. After 2 days of continued use, my skin recovered a lot! No more new breakouts and smooth hydrated skin. I'm glad I bought this on my trip to America so the price was extremely affordable compared to Aus (which is $54!) this tub will last me until the end of the year, it's huge! I like that it contains vitamin e as well which is good for scars. Probably not great for summer but for now in the southern hemishphere, love!
Update: Ahh I miss this cream so badly! They don't seem to sell it in Australia or Japan, no fair!

This is a great unscented moisturizer. It cream is on the heavy side so it's good for winter or dry climates like California yet it does not irritate my skin or clog pores. My face stays moisturized all day long.

I love that it does not have a scent and that it does not sting my eyes so I can use it has a eye cream also. The cream seems so simple and perfect that you wonder why all face creams cannot be like it. I have tried many face creams that sting my eyes or feels like I haven't put any on after 10 minutes. So I'm very happy I found this cream. I have also tried other Kiehls moisturizer such as the ultra facial moisturizer but the panthenol cream is 100x times better. This should be Kiehls' No. 1 product!

PRICE - I bought two bottles during Christmas when Kiehls was having a sale so these were $16 each. The bottles are 4 oz each which is a lot. One bottle has lasted me over 4 months and I'm only half done!

My skin breaks out with anything and is extremely sensitive. This saves my skin in the winter. I find it must be used while face is still moist after washing or it will just sit there and not soak in. You need to warm it in your hands and then pat on your face until it absorbs. At first it makes my skin feel awesome but after repeated daily uses it may start to congest my skin if I rub it in instead of patting it in at night. I don't know if this makes sense. I does not sting my face or make it red as other creams do. Nothing extra in it, just think of it as a balm for winter when NOTHING would get rid of the redness and flakes that sometimes comes hand in hand w/cold wind and dry indoor heating. Oh, and I really prefer a tube to a tub because it seems a bit unhygenic. This tub will last me forever because a pea sized amount is all you need. So overall a good value.

I have been searching for something like this for some time and I am very pleased and happy to come across this product. The moisturizer I was using before this one was really good but super expensive compared to this one. When I ran out of it, I thought it would be a good time to search for a less expensive alternative. In my search, I was using my back up moisturizer that was the Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizing lotion that I had used for many years and never had problems with it. My only negative thing about the clinique one is that I had to put a lot of it per use for it to hydrate my skin all day. During this time my skin broke out to a new make up product I had purchased and the Clinique moisturizer was kind of making it worse. A friend of mine told me about Kiehls and how good their products were. So i decided to give the brand a chance and got a sample of this. Wow!!! My skin improved dramatically in the first day I used it. It is incredibly moisturizing, a little goes a long way, it did not cause my dry, sensitive skin to break out, and the price was really good!! I bought it immediately after I ran out of the sample. It has been two weeks since I have been using this and my skin is looking amazingly hydrated and healthy. I also purchased the Kiehls eye cream that has avocado which is also very hydrating and would recommend as well for a person with dry under eye or eye area. This cream would work for normal to dry skin types in my opinion as it does not leave a greasy look in the face and it moisturizes my skin all day long. I am extremely happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone with dry/normal sensitive skin =)

this is my second winter using this product, and i'm still in love. one tub lasted me all of last winter and costs only about $26. thoroughly moisturized without any stickiness, perfumey scent, or fuss. great value and a carefree way to cure dryness. i get super dry in boston's winter, and it really helps to prevent flakiness or tightness. once it's absorbed you forget it's there and your skin just feels comfortable. replaced my pricey creams with this and price aside, still like this cream more.
