I have naturally wavy hair but this gives it that extra oomph. Waves are more defined and hair doesn't fall flat by days end. Love how soft it makes hair feel. Believe the reviews..this is fantastic!

I have really straight, fine hair that I like to work into a messy, wavy style. Not an easy thing. Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray helps with this but it doesn't have enough hold and on bad days looks more like a frizzy mess. This Style Primer, if used before the Surf Spray, gives me hold and lasting ooomph and decreases the frizz factor.
I wash my hair every three days and on the other days just let the ends get wet in the shower and restyle with a diffuser & more Surf Spray. This product works if I just use it on day one but it also seems to work if I use just a bit on the ends on the other days if my hair needs an extra lift. A little goes a long way.

Finally, I have my HG styling product. It's more than a mousse. This gives me texture and pieciness even without other products and does not make my hair stiff or crunchy. My hair is thick but fine, bone-straight and prone to droop. I recently got it cut short into what I called (asked for) a messy bob. It's stacked in the back and just below my earlobes in the front. My stylist didn't do much in the way of piecyness or texture - I don't think I explained what I had in mind too well and my hair just doesn't want to do that without a lot of product. So I stopped at the nearby Walgreen's and picked up Hershberger's Shagg Spray, thinking that would do the job. Well, for about 30 seconds it does and then I'm flat again. So I got this and oh, boy, what a difference.
Here's how it's used - rake it through damp, towel-dried hair, wait a few minutes and either blow dry your hair or add another styling product and dry. I probably would have used too much if I hadn't watched the videos on SH's website; for me, 2 quick pumps is perfect. With just my fingers and the blow dryer, I have long-lasting texture, mess and pieciness with this, and the Shagg spray does work better now although I love this on its own. Walgreen's is currently offering in-store coupons for $2 off SH products this month, so I've also bought the 2 Wreck and Roll products but haven't used them enough to form an opinion. This, though, is what I've been looking for for years. It's $12.49 without the coupon - but I will buy it over and over.

Wow! I'm really impressed with this product and the whole line. I have impossibly fine and flat hair, and nothing ever seems to work for very long or very well. I've tried all kinds of root sprays and the Bumble and Bumble products with insignificant results. On the other hand, this stuff is great. It's a mousse that doesn't really feel sticky, but it does help other styling products adhere better. I also use it all on its own as a styling product, and it does increase the body in my hair by itself. It seems to last all day, too. Another thing I love about this is that it never feels heavy or sticky or greasy, which have all been complaints of mine with other products. I did use too much the first time, but still it didn't feel greasy - just weighed my hair down too much to style properly. It may take a couple of days to figure out exactly how much you need - for my fine hair that sits a little below my shoulders it's about a pump and a half. I keep waiting for it to stop working, but so far I've found a product I'll buy over and over. I do get some product build-up after several days of use, but one day of clarifying shampoo takes care of it, and I go back to it the next day. I can't say enough great things about this product! The only thing I don't like about it is the hot pink packaging with gold text. The gold is difficult to read.
